“I was feeling uncomfortable in my own skin and lacking energy and self-esteem.”

I used to get away with my poor eating habits by staying active. But then, life happened and I found myself juggling a career and a growing family. There was less time for exercise and the weight started creeping up over time. Suddenly, I found myself almost 30 pounds overweight.

I felt uncomfortable in my own skin and lacked energy and self-esteem. I also had a physical that showed my cholesterol was high, along with a few other things, all of which stemmed from being overweight and lacking physical activity. I knew I needed to do something about it, but taking that first step is always the hardest one.

When my wife asked me to join Jenny Craig with her to help support her journey, I said, “Sure. What have I got to lose, besides a little weight?”

The structured, pre-planned menu and accountability made this journey a success for me. The pre-planned menu took all the guesswork out of it. It was super convenient and easy to follow. Jenny Craig taught me the skills I needed to keep the weight off and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

I looked forward to seeing my personal coach each week. She held me accountable and never judged me if I didn’t make progress or backpedaled one week. She motivated me and helped me navigate any upcoming events, trips or challenges. She was sincerely excited about my accomplishments and celebrated them, too.

Jenny Craig taught me the skills I needed to keep the weight off and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Before I started Jenny Craig, I would go to the gym and bike ride once in a while, but it was hard to get motivated and stay consistent due to my lack of energy. I hated the way I looked and felt. After losing some initial weight, I started feeling a little more energetic and motivated. I started getting active more consistently and was back to riding several times a week, going to the gym early in the morning. I even started doing a Tabata class at home in the evenings a couple of days a week. It was not long before I was feeling and looking better than I had in a long time.

I lost 19 pounds on Jenny Craig. Now that I have reached my goal weight, I look forward to riding. For a long time I shied away from getting out there because I was embarrassed by the way I looked, but now I look forward to sporting my favorite cycling kit and going for that ride, or to the gym. I no longer lack confidence or self-esteem. Now I look forward to getting out there and enjoying life!
