After college, I gained weight very quickly. I moved halfway across the country, away from friends and family, to start my first full-time job after graduation. It was an exciting time but a challenging one, too. The stress I felt with a new job and home in a new city was starting to build up. Without a good outlet to relieve that stress, I began to lean on food for comfort. My go-to meal after a long day at work was a box of mac and cheese and wine. I hadn’t realized how much weight I’d gained until one day I looked at a photo of myself and was shocked. I started trying to lose weight on my own by cutting back on what I considered to be “unhealthy foods.” Unfortunately, after three months of failing to lose weight, I was miserable and decided that nothing I’d tried could be a long-term solution. My mom saw a commercial for Jenny Craig’s Rapid Results program and she encouraged me to give it a try. Although I had my doubts, I scheduled an appointment.

From the moment I walked in the door at my Jenny Craig center, I felt that this program was going to be a good fit for me. My consultant, Carly, was like my own personal cheerleader. She explained how the program worked, and how it could fit into my crazy schedule. I found it to be easy and convenient. All I had to do was to eat the food and trust the process. Jenny Craig was unlike any other program that I’ve tried. I ate six times a day, and best of all, the food tastes great. I never felt like I was dieting.

My weekly meetings with Carly kept me accountable to my goal. She gave me great tips that helped me to be successful. One that worked well for me was to plan, prep and portion my snacks at the beginning of the week. Life can be unexpected, but no matter what things popped up last minute, I could stay on track.
