Maintaining 11/04/2009
OUCH!
Tom and I went on vacation a couple of weeks ago and I broke my toe. For those of you who have never done that, it hurts REALLY badly. It’s funny, I was totin’ around that 40-pound pumpkin in my last Jenny commercial to show how much weight I had lost (yikes) and all I was thinking was, ‘Please don’t drop this on your toe, Valerie.’ And then — WHAM — I klutzed out in my hotel room two weeks later and broke it anyway.
This is a huge bummer because it means NO RUNNING, which has been my major form of activity the last few months. Like, almost 100%. So I was a tad stressed that my weight was going to balloon back up from sitting around, nursing my toe.
So here’s what I did: First, I called Kathy to get back on Jenny’s weekly menu plan; Second, I got my elliptical out of storage so I could control my movements more while still burning calories.
Anyway, these are the challenges I face in maintenance - being a klutz and keeping a balance, even when things go awry. So here’s my question to all of you. DO YOU HAVE A KATHY? Do you use the e-tools on Jenny? Do you realize how lucky we are to have one-on-one support? Can you hear me because I’m kind of yelling?
Not at you.
But, geez — this whole toe thing would have spiraled me all the way back to the beginning a few years ago. Phew. I was so over lugging around that pumpkin. Now where’s my painkiller?
