That's amore!
Ok, confession time…I have never been to Italy. I, Valerie Bertinelli, a garlic-loving, loud-talkin' Italian has never been to her homeland. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? Anyway, Tom and I are going this month! I am so excited, I can't stand it. Mind you, my marathon is in April and I chose to go to the gelato capital of the world right before, but Italy is one of my ‘Things to do before I'm 50' goals and time is running out. Anyway, I am relying on PORTION CONTROL, MODERATION and WALKING during our stay. And, actually, Europeans seem to do the portions thing pretty well — not a lot of super-sizing over there, I don't think. So I'm not going to over think it.
I'll take lots of pictures and share them when I get back. If I come back. No, I have to run that marathon in Boston! I've worked too hard. :) Plus, my trainer Christopher would kill me.
Kathy — I wish you could come with me to be that voice of reason as I sit down to eat dinner at 10 pm (how do Italians stay so skinny when they eat so late?) over there, but I'm almost 50 so I guess it's time to be a big girl.
It's also time to pack.
ci sentiamo presto! (talk to you soon!) …I think?
xo,
Valerie
