Week 36
A few of you from the Rue Crew have been asking me to share more details on how I’m handling maintenance – specifically, what I’m eating. So I decided to write down exactly what I’ve eaten over the last few days. You’ll see that most of my menus are a blend of Jenny’s Cuisine (not saying goodbye to my faves!) and my own food – all cooked at home. I don’t know if this is what everyone else is doing on maintenance, but this is what’s working for me…(p.s. NOTE the free foods/veggies I add to my plate to “Volumize” my meals…one of the first strategies I learned on Jenny!)
DAY 1:
Breakfast
Organic Steel Cut oats about 1/2 - 3/4 cup with about 1/2 cup almond milk and a half a banana and 1/2 cup blueberries
Snack
Low fat Vanilla yogurt
Lunch
Tortilla with 1/4 cup low fat shredded cheese and spinach, grilled up with Pam - like a quesadilla
LARGE green salad with miso dressing (1 Tbsp)
Snack
Apple and 12 almonds
Dinner
Jenny’s Cuisine Spaghetti and Meatballs with my special “all veggies” sauce on top
I large sliced tomato, a sliced peach fresh basil and 1-ounce mozzarella cheese with balsamic vinegar
Dessert
Jenny’s Cheesecake
DAY 2:
Breakfast
Jenny’s Complete Start Cereal with 1 cup almond milk and ½-cup blueberries and raspberries
Snack
Cheese Stick
Lunch
LARGE spinach salad with tomatoes and onions and 2 tbsps oil and vinegar dressing - homemade
Jenny’s Cheesy Mashed Potatoes and Chicken with an extra half-cup peas
Snack
1 banana
Dinner
6 oz Grilled salmon (cooked at home, thank you very much) with capers and lemon and garlic
½-cup cooked barley grains with a little soy sauce on top
Sautéed broccoli with soy sauce and red peppers and garlic
Glass of white wine
Dessert
Two slices watermelon
DAY 3:
Breakfast
Jenny’s Cuisine French Toast, half a banana and 1 cup strawberries
Snack
Low fat vanilla yogurt
Lunch
Can of tuna on a huge bed of spinach with tomatoes and carrots and 4 crackers (about a tbsp soy sauce dribbled on top)
Snack
One almond/cashew snack bar
Dinner
Jenny’s Mac and cheese with my homemade sautéed green beans on the side
Dessert
Jenny’s Triple Chocolate Cheese Cake.
So that’s my past three “maintenance” days in detail – perhaps too much detail? Anyway, hope this helps. I’ll continue to post tips and strategies as I learn them. This crew’s gotta stick together!
xo,
Sara
