Focus on the Family…not the food
Hey everyone…Hopefully not too many of you are stranded somewhere because of the snowy weather. These are definitely the times when I’m even more thankful I live in sunny Southern California…lol. Anyways, hopefully you’ve all had some fun holiday parties to go to. I know it can be hard during the holidays to stick to your healthy eating, but I have some tips for you. Tip one: Use your consultant! Call them up and they can give you strategies to stay motivated all the way through the season.. After all, that’s what they are here for. Tip two: Fill up on free foods. Use your Success Made Simple Guide to remind you of all the yummy and low calorie food that you can add to your meals (and its food that you know is good for you). For your New Year’s party, try eating your Jenny Craig entrée or a Souptizer before you go or make sure you’re munching on those fruits and veggies. In fact, volunteer to bring a platter to the party — with a little fat-free Ranch dressing you’re set for safe snacking. You could even carry some of the Chocolate Chip Snack Bars (my fave) with you and in case you’re faced with high-calorie desserts. Check out Jenny Craig’s Holiday Survival Guide it has all sorts of ideas for healthy eating away from home — and even menus if you decide to host your own holiday dinners. Tip three (and the most important tip of all): Focus on your friends and family during the season, and not all the food and drinks that are around. I plan to take a couple of days off from basketball to recharge and rest my legs, but definitely gonna do some cardio. Wishing you all a happy and healthy New Year…Peace!
