Pamela M. Peeke, M.D., MPH, FACP

Dr. Peeke is chairman of the Jenny Craig Science Advisory Board, Pew Foundation Scholar in Nutrition and Metabolism, Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. She is an internationally recognized expert, physician, scientist and New York Times best-selling author in the fields of public health, nutrition, fitness and weight management. Dr. Peeke serves as WebMD’s lifestyle expert, Discovery Health’s chief medical correspondent, and is a frequent science and health news commentator. She is spokesperson for the American College of Sport’s Medicine’s Exercise is Medicine global initiative and founder of the Peeke Performance Center for Healthy Living®.

Timothy Church, M.D., MPH, Ph.D.

Dr. Church is chief medical officer for ACAP Health Consulting where he focuses on the creation of clinical strategies and disease-specific interventions for health and wellness. Dr. Church is also professor and director of the Laboratory of Preventive Medicine at Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he conducts research and education in nutrition and exercise for the promotion of healthy living. His areas of interest include preventive medicine, obesity and exercise biology as they relate to health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, quality of life and healthy aging.

Eric Finkelstein, Ph.D., M.H.A.

Dr. Finkelstein is Director of the Lien Centre for Palliative Care and Professor of the Signature Research Program in Health Services and Systems Research at the Duke National University of Singapore Graduate Medical School and Research Professor at Duke University Global Health Institute. Dr. Finkelstein is an international leader in health economics, conducting research on the impact of economic incentives and behavioral economics on health behaviors, the economics of obesity, burden of illness analysis and cost effectiveness.

Elizabeth Frates, M.D.

Dr. Frates is an Assistant Director of Medical Education at the Institute of Lifestyle Medicine, Harvard-Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and faculty advisor for the Lifestyle Medicine Interest Group at Harvard. She is a certified Wellness Coach and co-author of the wellness coaching chapter in the Lifestyle Medicine textbook. Dr. Frates’ work merges her physiatry and coaching skills. As an example, she leads wellness groups for stroke survivors at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.

Frank Greenway, M.D.

Dr. Greenway is Professor and Medical Director of the Pennington Outpatient Research Clinic in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Greenway’s research focuses on the treatment of obesity and its associated diseases, including dyslipidemia, diabetes and hypertension. His areas of interest include diets, herbal supplements, medical foods, devices, obesity surgery and obesity drug development with an emphasis on pharmaceutical and nutriceutical interventions. Dr. Greenway has authored over 170 peer-reviewed manuscripts in the areas of obesity, botanical and drug development.

James O. Hill, Ph.D.

Dr. Hill is Executive Director of the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center, Anschutz Professor of Pediatrics, Medicine and Physiology and Biophysics; and Director for the Center for Human Nutrition and Colorado Nutrition Obesity Research Center at University of Colorado. He is past president of the American Society of Clinical Nutrition and The Obesity Society. He is cofounder of the National Weight Control Registry, a registry of successful weight maintainers, and cofounder of America on the Move, a national weight gain prevention initiative that aims to inspire Americans to make small changes for weight gain prevention.

Margaret Moore, MBA

Ms. Moore is Chairman and CEO, Wellcoaches Corporation, Co-Director, Institute of Coaching, McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate; and co-author of the wellness coaching chapter in the latest edition of the Lifestyle Medicine textbook. She is co-founder and co-leader of the National Consortium for Credentialing Health & Wellness Coaches, which is developing national standards and certification for health and wellness coaches.

Russell Pate, Ph.D.

Dr. Pate is Professor, Department of Exercise Science in the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina, Chair of the Coordinating Committee for the National Physical Activity Plan, a nationally renowned expert in exercise physiology; and past president of the American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Pates’ areas of interest include physical activity and physical fitness in children and the health implications of physical activity.

Judith Rodriguez, Ph.D., R.D., FADA

Dr. Rodriguez is Chairperson and Professor in the department of Nutrition and Dietetics, University of North Florida, and a Fellow and past president of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Dr. Rodriguez is an expert in nutrition education; food and culture; health disparities and Hispanic/Latino health and nutrition. She is a frequent speaker on Spanish and English language television and radio, has received the HACE (Hispanics Achieving Community Excellence) award, is the author of Contemporary Nutrition for Latinos, and participates in a variety of professional and community service activities.

Delia Smith West, Ph.D.

Dr. West is Professor and Carolina SMART-STATE Endowed Chair and Director of the Technology Center to Promote Healthy Lifestyles in the Department of Exercise Science in the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina. Dr. West is a clinical psychologist who is expert in behavioral lifestyle interventions for weight management, as well as to address hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular risk. Her interests currently focus on technology-assisted methods to deliver evidence-based obesity treatments, including web-based approaches, phone-delivered methodologies and integration of “smart” devices into effective behavioral approaches tailored to specific target populations.
