Lisa Talamini has been with Jenny Craig since 1990. She is a Registered Dietitian with more than 20 years of experience in program development for weight management and clinical trial design to improve its effectiveness at helping individuals achieve their weight and health goals. In her current role, Lisa drives the pipeline of clinical research aimed at innovation and ongoing improvement of the Jenny Craig and Curves Programs. She also collaborates in the development and execution of the company’s health care strategy. Acting as company representative in science-based endeavors, Lisa is responsible for both internal and external communications regarding ongoing research initiatives within Jenny Craig as well as new developments across the obesity landscape.

Lisa was instrumental in building the original Jenny Craig Medical Advisory Board, to which she has long acted as key company liaison. Working with the current Science Advisory Board, Lisa and the Jenny Craig team of registered dietitians consistently assure that clients receive a program that is safe, effective and evidence-based.

Throughout the years, Lisa has been responsible for development of many of the Jenny Craig menus, educational materials, cookbooks, activity products and the one-on-one motivation-based counseling approach that is a key differentiator of Jenny Craig. Working with the science advisors and independent researchers, she directed the launch of multiple independent clinical trials demonstrating the efficacy of the program for weight loss and diabetes management. Now, she works closely with marketing, product development and operations/training to assure the evidence base behind the Jenny Craig and Curves programs as well as the delivery of their behavioral interventions.

Lisa graduated magna cum laude from California State Polytechnic University with a Bachelor's degree in Foods & Nutrition and completed her dietetic internship at LAC-USC Medical Center. She has Certificates of Training in Adult Weight Management, Child and Adolescent Weight Management, Mindfulness-based Eating Awareness Techniques and Motivational Interviewing. Prior to joining Jenny Craig, Lisa had a career in pediatric nutrition, focusing on intensive care/nutrition support, diabetes and kidney dialysis and transplant. To stay current in a diverse field, she maintains membership in several specialty practice groups under the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics including Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness, Diabetes Care and Education and Weight Management; as well as The Obesity Society, The Obesity Society Corporate Advisory Council and the American Academy of Diabetes Educators.

Senior Project Manager/Corporate Nutritionist

As a Project Manager, Darcie Anderson develops content, tools and strategies for Jenny Craig and Curves Complete programs for healthy weight management. This includes work on planned menus, program materials, recipes, online content and functionality, client-centered counseling, health enrollment materials, research projects, consumer/staff insights, and new program innovations. Ms. Anderson stays current on research, trends and healthcare developments. She also provides expertise in answering nutrition and program questions from our members and staff.

According to Ms. Anderson, being part of the Curves Jenny Craig Program & Science team is a fulfillment of her lifelong focus on health and wellness with an emphasis on food and nutrition. During her college years she studied nutrition and health at the University of Utah. Her love of cooking and creating recipes featuring fresh and nutritious foods led her to start a catering business to promote healthy eating after college. In recent years, Ms. Anderson’s focus has been specific to healthy weight management and wellness at Curves and Jenny Craig. She joined the company as a weight loss consultant, working one-on-one with men and women to help improve their health with the Jenny Craig Program. She later moved to the corporate office and joined the Program & Science team as a program specialist and is currently Senior Project Manager/Corporate Nutritionist. Working on the type 2 diabetes clinical trial and Jenny Craig for Type 2 program has been a highlight for her personally.

Monica Ropar, BS

Corporate Nutritionist

As a corporate nutritionist and training design specialist, Monica Ropar develops content, training, tools and strategies for the Jenny Craig program. This includes collaboration in the development of program materials, recipes, online content and functionality, health enrollment materials, consumer/staff insights and new program innovations.

As an expert nutrition and program resource, Monica supports the staff in addressing program questions and challenges that arise during the weight loss process either through the Nutrition Hotline or Help Desk. As a program expert resource for the online Jenny Craig community forums, she also provides support to members throughout their weight loss journey where she offers extra inspiration, weight loss tips, lifestyle strategies and motivation as needed.

Monica’s work is grounded in over 12 years of experience with Jenny Craig. She joined Jenny Craig as a weight loss consultant where she gained the experience of one-on-one counseling with members and guided them to successful weight management. She later moved to the corporate office, first working in nutrition and program development and is now working within training where she supports development of content and continuing education to support consultants more effectively deliver the Jenny Craig program in the areas of consultation skill, program expertise, lifestyle modification, and product knowledge.

Monica received her Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Dietetics and Exercise, Fitness & Health from Purdue University and continues to stay current on weight management research, consumer trends and healthcare developments.

Nutrition Specialist

As a Nutrition Specialist, Sarah Venters helps support the nutrition team in developing content, tools and strategies for both the Jenny Craig and Curves program. This includes program materials, menus, nutritional analysis, and recipe creations. She also represents the nutrition program team on cross functional teams for business initiatives. Sarah continues to build her expertise by staying informed in the areas of weight management research, consumer trends and advancements in healthcare.

Sarah received her Bachelor of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition from San Diego State University. Her choice of studies was based on a desire to promote the importance of diet on health and wellness. During college, her passion for food and nutrition led her into the restaurant business. Working as a restaurant manager she gained knowledge of modern menu planning, commercial cooking and management.

Sarah began working with Jenny Craig in 2015 as a weight loss consultant providing one-on-one nutrition counseling in multiple San Diego Centers. As a compassionate and dedicated consultant, she strengthened her skills in weight management. Sarah says being part of the Jenny Craig Nutrition team allows her to help people enjoy their food while learning to live happier, healthier lives as they achieve their weight loss goals.
