  • 10  Bartlett Pears
  • 6  cup(s)  water
  • 1  cup  distilled vinegar
  • 32  whole cloves
  • 8  small slices fresh ginger root
  • 2  Tbsp  sugar
  • 8  cinnamon sticks

Directions

  1. Peel, quarter and core pears to measure about 10 cups.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients in a large pot or kettle.
  3. Bring to a boil and simmer juices for 5 minutes; add pears and return to a boil.
  4. Simmer 15-20 minutes longer.
  5. Serve warm or refrigerate and serve chilled.
