Ingredients

  • 1 1/2  cup(s)  quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 4  cup(s)  nonfat milk
  • 1/2  tsp  grated nutmeg
  • 4  Tbsp  oat bran
  • 10  dried apricots, about 2 ounces, finely chopped
  • 2  Tbsp  brown sugar

Directions

  1. Combine the oats and 3 cups milk in a medium saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring.
  3. Mix in the nutmeg and oat bran.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring frequently, until the oats are tender, about 1 minute.
  5. Divide the oatmeal among 4 cereal bowls.
  6. Sprinkle each with the apricots and brown sugar.
  7. Serve the oatmeal immediately, with the remaining milk to add to the oatmeal, if desired.
