I had been really busy working full-time and going to school at night. I knew that I wasn't eating right and hadn't been exercising much. In fact, schlepping my textbooks around in a backpack was about all the exercise I had been getting.
I hadn't been paying much attention to my appearance, which was unusual for me. It wasn't until I saw a friend I hadn't seen in a while. She looked at me and said, "Wow! You are rockin' some serious curves these days!" I'm sure she didn't mean it in a bad way, but I had always been the fit, athletic type, so I was a little shocked by her comment.
Later that same week a coworker said, "You remind me a little of my mama, she's chubby, too." Now that one hurt. I literally ran to find the number for Jenny Craig and called them immediately. I asked "When is your soonest appointment?" She said, "Today at 4:00." I said, "I'll take it."
And so my journey began. I went on to lose 30 lbs!* My Jenny consultant made it easy and worked with me to make a plan that fit my lifestyle. I continue to maintain my healthy habits to keep my weight off. If I ever get off track, my consultant, Laura, gets me back on course.
