Fill Your Life With Affirmations

Do you struggle with self-doubt? Are you convinced you’ll never succeed? If you said ‘yes’ to either question, you may have a critical mindset. People with an “inner critic” mindset may overthink mistakes, feel guilty about food choices and struggle with not being perfect on their diet plan. Unfortunately, a critical mindset may block successful change or, at least, get in its way. It’s important to learn to quiet your inner critic and practice self-acceptance, in favor of weight loss success.

One way to practice self-acceptance is to fill your life with affirmations. Affirmations are positive statements of self-belief that can help promote a positive mindset. Trade in those “I can’ts” for “I cans”. Being your own cheerleader can push you to succeed.

As you lather, rinse and repeat these affirmations, you may notice a positive change in your attitude. You can even say your affirmations aloud or in the mirror to really drive the point home. Pick a new one often, like each week -- make it relevant to what’s going on with you. This new habit may not seem like a big deal, but you’re actually developing a healthy mindset which can set you up for success.
