Be Fearless With Your Weight Loss
You might have had this happen to you before — you say you're going to lose weight, but you fall back into your unhealthy eating habits and lose the motivation to exercise. Don't fret if you have let your weight loss resolutions go by the wayside. Life is complicated, and more often than not, it is your mind — not your body — telling you that the body image you want is unattainable.
Here are a few reasons why we may have difficulties getting the motivation to lose weight:
Fear. Fear often prevents us from getting the things we want out of life, including reaching our weight loss goals. It is important not to let your doubts and fears dictate your success! You should constantly remind yourself that you are working toward a better body and healthier lifestyle, and there is no failure in trying.
Unrealistic Expectations. You are not going to have the body that you want overnight. It is important to have realistic expectations when it comes to weight loss. You have to start somewhere, but easing your way into diet and exercise are going to give you better results in the long run.
Stress. Stress can be one of the biggest culprits when it comes to giving up on your diet goals. However, there are ways to combat this common occurrence. One of them is knowing the difference between emotional eating (aka when we confide in a bowl of ice cream) and being truly hungry.
It's great to help out your family and community, but when was the last time you helped yourself out? Give yourself the gift of a better body image and stick with your health goals this year!
