No Interest in Exercise?

Hate to exercise? That's okay! Not everyone likes the idea of getting sweaty and working out till your muscles ache. Instead of forcing yourself to do something that you don't want to do, start by giving yourself credit for what you're already doing. Something is better than nothing.

If you're cooking, cleaning or shopping, you're already burning an average of about 3 calories per minute. A great start!

Pay attention to how you feel -- energy, mood, stress -- and you might gradually find that you like the way you feel after some activity. Stop doing what you don't like, and figure out what you do like. There's nothing that says you can't have fun while you're getting active!

Tips to help get you going:

● Set small activity goals by planning what you want to do and when to do it.

● Choose fitness activities and exercises that feel natural to you.

● Plan a reward for yourself after you accomplish your goal. Positive reinforcement goes a long way toward turning a chore into a fun activity.

● Enlist the support of a workout buddy so you can have fun while you lose together.

Activity of any kind, matters as much as formal exercise, so don’t let your worries about structured workouts prevent you from ‘moving more.’
