"Fat Actress" Kirstie Alley Chooses Jenny Craig To Lose Weight
Actress to Star in New Advertising Campaign
CARLSBAD, Calif., Dec. 20, 2004 – Jenny Craig Inc., one of the nation's leading authorities on weight management, announced today that actress Kirstie Alley is the company's "star" client for 2005. In response to recent statements that she wants to lose the very weight that prompted her new Showtime series, "Fat Actress," Jenny Craig has offered Alley and ten of her closest friends the opportunity to participate in the program. Alley is currently working with her Jenny Craig consultants to lose weight and learn how to eat and live healthier. She will star in the company's advertising campaign featuring television commercials that begin airing January 10, 2005.

When Alley's new seven-part Showtime series, "Fat Actress" premiers in March, people will see how difficult it is to be an overweight woman in the entertainment business. But Alley hopes her weight loss will encourage others to join her in her mission to gain control of her body and become healthier.
A former Jenny Craig member, Alley lost more than 15 pounds on the program 14 years ago and successfully kept it off for over ten years. Her goal today is to lose more than fifty pounds with the new Jenny YourStyle personalized program, a balanced approach to weight loss addressing food, body and mind. Alley meets with her Jenny Craig consultant weekly, has begun a new regime of increased activity and is creating an eating plan for meals at home and on the set, all tailored to fit her schedule and lifestyle.
