I had been uncomfortable with my weight for a long time, but I began seriously thinking about trying to lose weight about a month or two before I came to Jenny Craig. I had basically run out of clothes that fit me, and I decided that I was not going to go out and buy bigger clothes. I was going to try to lose the weight, and get back into my old stuff, or actually enjoy buying smaller clothes. A friend at work had told me about how easy and actually enjoyable Jenny Craig was, so that was why I decided that Jenny was the route I would take.
What I like best about the program is the convenience. Using Jenny menus and foods takes the work out of trying to sort out and stick to a diet. The food is already prepared, and easy to just grab and go. Also, I like that it is real food. I don't feel like I am starving myself. I learned about portion control, and making sure my diet is balanced, from my consultant. I truly did not understand portion control before this. The weight loss tip that has helped me the most is to make sure that I eat every few hours. This stops me from getting so hungry that I lose control and overeat, and feel like I've blown all my hard work.
My life is different because I am happier and soooo much less self-conscious. I am able to enjoy life, rather than focusing on how I look compared to everyone around me. I am enjoying everything so much more now. I also discovered Pilates, which I would never have started if I had not decided to focus on getting healthier. I feel so limber now! I have lost 15 lbs* and I am so happy I decided to go in to the Jenny Craig location that day. Now it is like "Jenny" is one of my new friends.
