Full Version: very hungry in the afternoon between meals/snack

Help! I get sooo hungry between afternoon snack and dinner. I drink tons of water and use up my free limited options. It only helps for 30 or so minutes. ?????

I don't know how long you have been on the plan but that craving passed for me, I suspect it will for you, too.

Consider saving your protein rich dairy snack for that point in the day and add in free veggie & fruits. FF cottage cheese with fresh dill or chives and celery & carrots sticks should fill your up without spiking your blood sugar. How about FF yoghurt with fresh fruit OR add herbs and turn it into a dip for veggies.

Another thing I sometimes do is eat my JC lunch at luchtime and eat the salad later as a kind of extra snack. smile.gif

I had never thought of cottage cheese instead of yogurt. Good idea.

Good idea. I am usually full enough to save the salad.

my consultant had suggested I do a swap eat my Dinner at Lunch, and lunch at dinner. However some other things I've done:

1. make big batch of vegi soup, freeze, and keep some at work so during the day I can heat when I get hungry

2. scheduled my eating spreading it out so something like this

Breakfast when within 1 hour of waking

yogurt and fruit 10 am (the fruit is from the breakfast)

Lunch w/ vegi's

Fruit 3pm

Dinner w/ vegi's

3. I encorporated into my day to help take edge off hunger sometimes by swapping the salad dressing 1 Fat and having peanutbutter on an apple in the afternoon.


other ideas people have shared is your 1 milk servings is equivelant to 2 meat servings so it was suggest to do a 3 egg white omelet adding salsa, vegi's but this is impossible during the day at work, but it is a great weekend idea when i seem to want to eat all day long particularly if bored.

I had the same problem so I asked my consultant what to do. She suggested I eat my lunch earlier. I was waiting til 1:30 to eat lunch and she said I was eating too late. I actually worked!

you could also try eating your jenny snack at that time and then having sugar free jello as your after dinner snack.
