I had my first weigh in yesterday, I was kind of dissapointed but then again not surprised. I lost 1.5 lbs ...mind you I work out daily and stuck to this. I was sad but I still lost than gained but even she was shocked, she kept saying it wasnt typical for the 1st week, would getting my period play a big part in this? I was sad all nite like I just wanted to sit and eat (sad but true) but I felt bad enough, her facial expression made it worse...I am going to try it for one more week...hopefully it gets better but she told me to not work out this week..=(

Don't feel bad! It is very normal to lose 1-2 lbs per week. I would think especially normal since it is just your first week.
I am having my first weigh in this afternoon and I am super nervous! I know I will be sad if I don't lose at least ONE lb.

Adansmommy,
Way To Go!! You should be very proud ... You lost 1.5 lbs biggrin.gif

Please do not be discouraged because you did not lose as much as you had hoped. Yes, your body retains water during your period, so it needs to be taken into account. Remember, your body is going through big changes the first few weeks of the program. Also, I do not understand why your JCC wanted you to skip working out this week... that doesn't sound right.

I had my first WI last week and log story short, it looked like I hadn't lost anything. I got the same disappointed look you got and left JC very depressed. (I posted the whole story under New Member/October Starters).

Please do me a favor ... Read and join all of us "Halloweenies" in the October Starters thread under this New Members section. I posted my story and am amazed at the great suggestions and wonderful support I have received.

Best of Luck,
Jenks

I'd like to see big losses, but with JC 10 weeks, 10 lbs. and you know what a loss is a loss, and I'll take it, i am moving right along, i always hope for more but don't let it get me down, I just try to burn more cal through activity and my body is changing in other ways even if the scale doesn't agree (since Jan. I have lost 25 lbs. slow, slow, slow, but down 2 sizes, stronger, and have my waist back)

Awww.thank you all for your support mellow.gif I was bummed but it is true a loss is a loss. Thank you al so much and I wish I did have to go thru water retention but I am a woman and cant avoid it LOL...I was bummed cause it is expensive but I feel it is worth it. I am at 208- I started the year at 238 and I lost 29 lbs on my own so 1 down puts me at 30 lbs as of yesterday so I was happy when I thought of it that way, I just want to be out of the 200's and maybe weigh what I weigh on drivers license LOL(I did lie about it ,it says 191) Thank you all very much for the support.

I too had my first WI after restarting JC . I lost 2.2 lbs & I am thrilled becasue I know this is 2.2 lbs that I will keep off. I too have done fad diets & lost 7-8lbs in a week. Guess what !? All I to do was think about eating something bad & I would regain plus more!! Stop beating up on yourself & be proud!!! It's a slow process, but you are training yourself to eat healthy!!! BE PROUD!!

Mine told me the first week just to do the eating and not the activity part ( I did it anyways) I think the reason is because it's such a big change we are doing that it will make it a little easier just to do the eating than eating and workout (more focus). I keep thinking about my second weigh in it's on Sunday and I'm so nervous because I see how everyone only loses 1-2 pds usually and I want to lose the same as my first week. I keep telling myself I'm losing I'm losing so keep going and even if I gain a pound or two I'm still going because I know I'm going to hit my goal weight and when I do I get a whole new wardrobe!!! Ps did I mention I love to shop

Woooooooo way to go, congratulations on your loss, adansmommy!

A pound off is...a pound off!!! Reason to celebrate indeed.

I also had my first weigh in on Monday. I only lost 1 pound and I was upset. I think I was using too much salt so as of Monday I really knocked down on it. I weighed myself today (3 days later) and I am down 2 more.
I must learn this is not just about dieting but about eating healthy all the way around
