I am about 4 weeks into the program and I am having a really hard time implementing exercise. I have a gym membership but I hate going to the gym. I always feel so unmotivated to work out. Does anyone have any tips? Is there any FUN exercises that you can recommend? Thanks!

Is there a friend that you can take walks with? I find that I'm more likely to walk with someone else than myself, I feel guilty backing out on her. Also, I do the on-demand excercises that are on my cable tv, that way if you only have 15 minutes to excercise you can find a shorter program to do. I know sometimes once I get home at night I just don't want to go back out and this helps.

I will say that when I'm excercising I'm losing more weigh so that's an incentive too.

Jazzercise is FUN! I started almost 7 years ago and just can't stop! Check out http://www.jazzercise.com for directions and class times near you. I couldn't help but notice that you're in Phoenix... I'm in Scottsdale! I go to the Jazzercise center at Thunderbird and Scottsdale Rd, Tues/Thurs evening, Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. Maybe I'll see you there!

I admit In the beginning I found the gym excruciating to get to for a number of reasons, I first started saying, ok even if I have a Lame workout I won half the battle by at least walking through the door. After awhile it becomes habit, I still beat myself up for when I take hiatus and don't go.

What I find motivating and Fun is I love Jillian Michaels banish Fat boost metabolism, it is my new addiciton. I also love her Shred dvd but havne't pulled that out for awhile.

Does your gym offer Classes? I heard Zumba is fun!

I do get bored with Cardio workouts and find i cut them short, so what I started to do was challenge myself, instead of looking 30 min on treadmill, I would say ok 2 miles and I'm done, now I am at point i wear Heart rate monitor so I now say ok X amount of Burn and I am done, I find it pushes me along.

Also challenging myself with Incline training or Interval Training helps break up the mundane cardio lol....
one time I thought I was all that because I got to a 12% incline, and then realized you really reap the cal burn benefits by not holding on, well there was a new challenge i can now do 6% with arms moving... lol

I used to be pretty sedentary, but now I enjoy walking around the parking lot at work on my morning break. And we bought a Wii Fit. Very fun and doesn't really seem like working out. Balance games, hula-hoop, step, yoga & strength training, etc. You have a little personalized cartoon character that works out with you. The island run has nice scenery. I'm almost ready to move up to another program with more of a workout. Heard the Wii Personal Trainer was good.
