Hey All!!

A couple of us did an October Steps challenge so thought we would try again with a November steps challenge.
Come join us and see how many steps you can do in the month of November!!

My goal for November is 360,000 steps. That is about 12000 steps a day!
Well on Sunday Nov. 1st I managed 9468 steps. I'm a little behind already but there is still a LOT of month left smile.gif

Welcome!! Basically just make a goal. I made a ticker for my goal. I usually post daily in the morning with my steps from the previous day but if you prefer to post every other day or weekly or whatever thats fine too. It is pretty laid back..just a way to stay accountable and get out there and move.

Thanks For getting November going, Beth! I am going to try for 250,000 again this month since i didnt make that number last month! I did 6100 steps yesterday.

Well Beth, even though we live pretty close to each other - since it's getting colder outdoors and I'm a woose (sp?) when it comes to the cold. We can at least hold each other accountable here on the forum.

OKay... I am in!

I have to locate my pedometer at home (DS threw it down the stairs and I haven't seen it since). But, I will pledge 300,000 steps this month! YIKES!!!

Count me in too!!! Trying to get my steps in is really hard... so I'm going to go for 200,000 for this month!!! But I, too have to locate my pedometer...

Just as an FYI... I am going to update my ticker after each MAJOR walking session today because I am not wearing my pedometer... don't want to forget any steps!!

FYI I put a list of people in the challenge and goals in the first posting. If someone has a better way to organize this then feel free..otherwise just kind of post when you can/want and hopefully we'll all hit our goals at the end of the month

I'm a day behind but I want to be held accountable! My goal is 240,000.00, approx. 8000 steps a day.

Hey silly question, how do you guys get those great tickers on your posts. I think they're great!

Jen Ada - Click on one of my tickers then click on "create your own ticker". You can do a weightloss ticker or an exercise ticker or whatever. Go ahead and pick one, pick your design, enter your info, and when you have all that you'll see some boxes with code in them one of them is something like bbcode. Take that code and copy it. Now go back into the JC website and when you are on the forums there is a "My controls" link at the top. Click on that, then click on Edit signature. Paste your code in there. Now anytime you want to update your ticker you can just click on your OWN ticker and update that way.
Let me know if you need more help.


So, Day 2 I managed 12963 steps! yahoo!!!

Didn't do SO hot on day 1, but I wasn't wearing a pedometer so I had to manually count my steps and only accounted for the BIGGER walks and not all the in between steps.

Pedometer is ON today and I am rarin' to go.

PS. Found the pedometer is the great storage spot of my DS's dump truck!! Gotta love 2-year olds!!

Yesterday, Day 3..I did 10019...I better step it up if I'm going to even come close to my goal..atleast its still early in the month!!

WAHOO - yesterday I did 11,647. Gotta love the bonus of going bowling on Tuesday's. Got steps AND some muscle work!

Great job Lindsay!

Yesterday, Day 4 I did 12278 steps. Not bad considering I had training for work that consisted of sitting in a chair from 8am-5pm :/ Thank god I got on that treadmill last night smile.gif and I even got on it at 4am this morning and ran 2 miles!!! Someone call the Dr!!! I've gone crazy!! haha!

WAHOO Beth, great job! I am so jealous that you have a treadmill at home... I would LOVE to have one for the dreary weather that we have here!

Yesterday was a good day, not great - 10,746 steps logged. I am hoping for 12,000 or more today so that I can start making up some ground for missing the 1st and my crappy entry on the 2nd.

You can find really good deals on them...if you have the space for one.
My Mom found one at Kmart that was normaly $549....however, they were bringing out a new modle so they discontinued this one and marked it down to $249. I wanted a really nice one and she knew that...so when she saw it and its price it was "Merry Christmas Beth!!!" YAY!!
But you can find really nice and cheap ones on places like craigslist and stuff like that. A lot of people have them and have used them as clothes racks for 5 years and now decided it is time to get their basement back and want it gone.

Great job on the steps! you can do 12k!!!!!!!! do you have stairs in your house? if so.....I chase my puppies up and down the stairs when I feel like I need to do more stepping...it gives me cardio, makes them tired, and I get my steps in haha...you don't have to necessarily chase dogs up and down them but during your favorite show on tv run up and down the stairs during commercials smile.gif ..but I guess this only works if you have stairs haha

Yesterday, Day 5 I did 12622 steps! YAY!

I woke up again this morning at 4am and ran almost 2 miles!! Super motivated this week! I hope it shows on the scale on Sunday.

WOW Beth, you are doing awesome!! What is with the 4am get-ups?!?! Are you insane??? What time do you normally get up in the morning.

Well, didn't get in my 12,000 but DID get 10,077 so at least I was on my daily plan. My DS is giving me a run for my money again when it comes to bedtime so I am having a really hard time getting extra steps in during the late evening.

Guess what?!?! My BFF is selling her treadmill... it is quite pricy though so I don't think our budget has room for it right now - too bad though. I know I can trust her on its quality. Hmph... maybe once I am closer to weaning off Jenny and have a little more expendible income!! HAHAHAH!! That made me laugh - expendible income (what is that, other than an oxy moron!!)

I use to get up at 4:45 to be at work by 5:30 (I live 2 mins away from work)...so 4 am isn't THAT much earlier. It gives me time to take the dogs out, feed them, run my 2 miles plus drink a large glass of water and a cup of coffee smile.gif and then get ready for work

You did over 10k so YAY YOU!!!! Aim for the 12k today. I hope bedtime for you DS gets better :/

oooooh...is the treadmill WAY out of budget or just a bit out of budget? Like if you did 1 extra day a week of DOMO for like 1 month or something would it cover it? If so...think that having the treadmill would make up for that 1 extra DOMO. I guess it all depends how good of a deal the treadmill is and whether cutting out a day or two more of JC for a few weeks would cover it.
Good luck! I hope you can figure something out. Having a treadmill at home is FANTASTIC!

Hey Beth!

I did 58,096 steps this week - not bad - ok - still loving our new Wii! Wheeeeeeee!!

And, oh , my gosh, ever since DH joined JC ( he is on his 2nd week ) I have been doing so much better - JC 99% of the the time ( had an extra snack of 4 NF crackers & 2 pieces 2% cheese yesterday during football game) . It is so much easier with both of us on same page!

Gray , Raining, Cold today.perfect day to use the Wii!

I had a really REALLY bad weekend (steps wise anyways). I was on a girlie weekend and it was a little hard to drive 2-hours to get there, watch 2 girlie movies AND do mani/pedis while trying to get steps in... needless to say, I probably averaged 4,000 steps a day - BOOOOOOOOO!! I have such a big make-up ahead of me so don't think I will make my goal for the month - but I will try to come as close as possible!

I had a rough week with the passing of my cousin. I basically didn't eat all week. I exercised like crazy but didn't eat so needless to say my WI produced a 0 lb change...better than a gain :/ So this week I'm on 100% JC with no DOMO to get back on track.
I told my JCC yesterday that had this been about a year ago I would have eaten until I was sick...instead of turning to food ......now I turn to the treadmill.


Anyway...so for yesterday, Day 8 I managed 12748 steps. Super excited about that!

From 11/1/09 to 11/008/09 I did 36,609 steps. Over 8 days that's an average of 4576 steps a day, way under the goal of 8000 a day. So this morning I held myself accountable and I got on the treadmill for 20 mins to watch the news. At 9 am this morning I already logged 3000 steps. I am going to keep trying the treadmill in the mornings and see if I can keep it up. It's just my biggest thing right now is that I am trying to figure out how to work out like I used to before I had my baby. She's my first, born 12/20/08, and I'm just having a hard time figuring out my life since then. Between work and home to-do lists, I never feel like there's time. I just have to take control but it's been frustrating. I start to work out when she goes to bed at 7, then she might wake up or I have to get laundry done or stuff for the next day ready and I just forget about me and taking some time to work out.

THanks ladies! The treadmill has been my friend this week and today I'm back to eating again so thats good.
I'm 100% following JC..not that I didn't last week..I just didn't eat last week. But thati s no more. I had my blueberry pancakes this morning, FF yogurt, and apple so far smile.gif

This is great. I am up for the challenge. I will post my steps, even if they aren't up to my goal of 10k a day. Accountability is incredibly helpful! Thanks for putting the challenge out there. Hey, I might even surprise myself and get in 20k for the remainder of the month.

Yesterday...Day 9 I did 14,255 steps! I'm going to try today for 15,000 haha we'll see smile.gif

Good Grief Beth - how am I ever supposed to catch you with those crazy steps you are logging??

Yesterday was a great back on track day for me - 11,191. Even having DS give us a run again - it was a lot of up and down on the stairs, so that definitely helped my totals!

Well, knowing that I put it out there that I would post my steps, I was motivated to get out and make my goal of 10k.
So, yesterday I did 10,425 steps. Yeah!

Today I got 11,119 steps! My goal each day is 10,000 so that's awesome. My weigh in for Week 11 is tomorrow. I'm hoping to lose 1.5 pounds this week. My Thanksgiving challenge is losing 30 lbs over all, and I'm 4.5 pounds away! If I lose 1.5 for the next 3 weeks, I'll hit my goal. *Crosses fingers*

Great job ladies! you are all doing fantastic! Yesterday, Day 11 I managed a total of 10,283 steps. Not quite as many as I was hoping but my evening didn't go quite as planned.
I was hoping to come home from work, make dinner, and hop on the treadmill. But my friend from work texted me as we were finishing dinner because her bf was being a total jerk and stormed off. Him being a jerk is pretty typical. She said that she didn't really want to be there when he came back so I invited her over. So instead of the treadmill I ended up running around playing with the puppies and watching So You Think You Can Dance lol...so not exactly what I had planned but this morning I jumped on the treadmill for a quick 1 mile....more to come later smile.gif

Great job everyone!!

Got in 12,204 steps yesterday and am hoping to do the same today... however, I am feeling under the weather - stupid cold that will not leave my household. No excuses though - so far it is only in my throat so that SHOULDN'T stop me!
