Hi, I started yesterday and am also very excited. I've got about 20 pounds to lose. I have to say the food has been great so far. I have lost 30 pounds so far (started about a year and a half ago) with nutrisystem and have managed to keep about 20 off on my own by counting calories. I just cant seem to reach my goal weight on my own, so I decided to try JC...the nutrisystem food was gross..but this has actually been good smile.gif I am super motivated that I will be able to reach my goal with JC smile.gif
dmfashion
Oh that's great! I'm glad someone responded. I will let you know how day one goes tomorrow. All the food looks pretty good. smile.gif

Hello there,

I jsut started yesterday too. I have 70 lbs. to lose. I am excited to try this and worried at the same time. All those mixed emotions! So far, the food has been good. I tried Nutrisystem about 2 years ago and it was terrible. I was worried about trying another prepackaged system but this tastes good so far.

Well... good luck everybody. Here we go.

good luck everyone!! biggrin.gif

Hi! I just joined and start tommo also. I have about 30 pounds to lose! We can do it!

Yes we can smile.gif

Hey-I started on Friday and I'm loving the food. I am like a lot of you that have been on nutrisytem. I did good on it but I could just not stand the thought of the food again so I thought I would give this a try even though it is more than I wanted to spend. I have 5o lbs to lose. I lost my husband in Jan. so the year has been filled with stress and weight gain but now I am ready to do this for me and put myself first for the first time in my life. Good luck everyone---I know we can do this. biggrin.gif
dmfashion
Hey Cobbcreek.. I'm sorry to hear about your husband. I lost my dad a little over a year ago unexpectedly. I'm 27 and we were very close, so it's been tough. I feel for my mom because she lost her husband and her soul mate. I believe they are up there looking over us. smile.gif
Good luck to you. biggrin.gif

Hi Everyone-
I'm a newbie- Just joined today- get my food wed....considered nutrisystem since it is soo much cheaper- but i hear the food is good and the support is GREAT! I'm 43 (as of last week) and have 40 pounds that simply MUST go! I'm excited, optimistic and ready to do this. We can do this!
bjoyful
Hey cobbcreek,

I'm really sorry to hear that you lost your husband. My husband has been ill for a really long time and I understand how hard that can be on a person--I ate to deal with the stress and have added about 70 lbs. This is good thing that we are doing for ourselves. After that level of stress, we need to learn to take good care of ourselves now.

Good luck with the program.

Today is the first day of the new me. I have 74 pounds to lose and I'm ready to do it!!! I can't wait to get back into so many of my clothes that have been hanging in my closet for the last couple of years!!!

Hi All,
Just started on the food yesterday. So far so good! I was shocked when I got my starting weight. This is the heaviest I have ever been. Like many of you tried Nutri System a couple of years ago and couldn't stomach the food. The food on JC has been so much better. Good Luck to everyone.

Will be losing 50+ pounds!!!!!

Hi All -

I started last week, but with it being so close to November wanted to join this support! I am having a really difficult time right now with the food. I am a somewhat picky eater and have only found a few things I like. This is really discouraging me! Hopefully with some support I can work through this. I have about 60 lbs to lose and would like to lose a lot of it before my wedding next October. Good luck to everyone!
Lizzilo
Hi Everyone,

I also started late last week, but feel more like a November person.

I have given up on sooo many diets in the past, and am even a lap-band failure. I'm hoping I can find SOMETHING that works.

So far, so good. I had the chicken corn chowder for lunch just now and it reminds me alot of Campbell's Alfredo soup. Yummy!

Good luck everyone smile.gif

Hi Everyone,

I'm both new to JC and to boards like this. Started yesterday with 100 lbs to lose, sister is in it also so she may come on board, she geekier than I am. Mom lived with me and lost her this year so eating has been a great comfort but on day two of JC food I think its going to be ok.
bjoyful
I am excited tonight. Three days into this and I am enoying the simplicity of this system. I always thought if someone would just hand me the food that I need to eat--and I didn't have to make any decisions--I could lose some weight. This seems to fit that bill for me. tongue.gif

I can't wait until Saturday morning when I get to step on the scale and see how this is going. I am trying to prepare myself for whatever it says, but I believe this has to be good for me.

Hope everybody else is doing well tonight too.

Hey everybody, I started Nov. 2nd, am 44 and have 65 lbs to lose. I am *really* surprised that the food tastes so good! Yay!

I've been on a weight roller coaster for 10 years and I just found out my Mom has diabetes. I guess she's had it for a few years and didn't tell anyone so that's a little scary. Definitely time to get control and start treating my body better.
Virginia Lady
A couple of you girls mentioned your moms. My mom is 84 and still struggling with her weight. I think the greatest tribute we could give our moms is to conquer our problems with food. I watch my mom with a walker and I know I'm going to follow in her footsteps if I don't get a grip on this problem I have with food. I also know she hates to see me following her path. I know we all are doing this for ourselves , but what a great way to honor our moms by getting our life under control and living it to the fullest.
bjoyful
I think losing weight is an important thing to do as a tribute to my mother, but I also look at my daughter who is 31 years old and struggling with her weight. I look at my new 9 month old granddaughter. I wonder how I can be a better role model to both of them through this journey. It's not a quick weight loss journey but a slow steady change in life style.

I'm on day 4 of a new life. And I haven't given up or gotten discouraged. I am looking for the good in this journey and the incredible things that I am learning as I continue this journey.

Glad to be on the same pathway with all of you too!

Hello Fellow November Starters- Today is my first day on the program. I have a little over 60 pounds to lose. Glad to see so many people with similar weight goals to my own. I am 28, single, and work full time. I have enjoyed the Jenny food for the day so far, but I am having a lot of trouble eating all these fruits and vegetables. I have never been a fan of fruits and veggies, but I am trying. Any suggestions?
Krissi99
I started the program today. So far the food is good. Plus this program makes you eat lots of fruits and veggies so that is great. They are so good for you. I am glad I am eating a lot more of them. I can't wait to lose weight. I just had a baby plus I have a 3 1/2 year old so this program is easy. I don't have to think about anything. I'm not hungry either. I have 50 pounds to lose. Good luck to everyone!
Krissi99
To Redhead: Try eating fruit cups or applesauce. As long as they meet the requirements you can have that. Or make fruit salad and portion it out. I love apples and pears and you can eat those on the go. I hear you about ideas for veggies. So far I have carrots. I might check out the canned stuff with no salt added. Those will be easier to eat. I hope that helps.

Just received my food today and starting the program tomorrow. I have 50 lbs to lose and can not wait to get started anyone looking for a buddy in the Holden area please let me know.

Hello Everyone,
I just joined Jenny Craig and my first delivery of food arrived today. I just finished putting it away & most looks pretty good. I never tried Nutri System, but a former coworker did well with it, but the food was gross. Anyway I lost about 25 lbs about 20 years ago on Weight Watchers, but gained it back & then some. I am at my all time heaviest now & I can't stand it anymore. I need to lose about 80-85 lbs. So tomorrow is my first day.

I am very excited & motivated. I started to exercise last week & plan to continue that as well.

We can do this!!

Good Luck to everyone!

I had my consult yesterday, just started today. Doing well. Didn't drink enough water, didn't move enough. Will do better tomorrow. About me - 51 years old, gonna be a first-time grandma next April, used to be a gym rat and into body building with my husband. When that ended (the gym, not my husband, still madly in love), put on weight and got lazy. Then quit smoking, really packed it on. Started smoking again, weight didn't go away. Need to quit again (grandbaby coming is the big incentive) and don't want a repeat. Goal is to lose 29 lbs AND be a nonsmoker again by April 10, 2010. Feeling a little embarassed that I'm doing JC, especially since my brain knows all the right things to do and I am very well versed in nutrition and exercise, but something just isn't clicking for me. I really think I need some hand-holding this time. I'm also new to chat boards and such. I'm seeing such creative posts! Can someone tell me what the tickers and challenges are all about? Thanks. I hope I get to know you all and make some new friends!

Good Morning everyone - well today I start my journey on Jenny Craig and I am excited and ready. I have about 35 lbs I want to shed, I recently quit smoking (4 months) and that added more weight so here I am.

Wishing everyone else luck and talk to you soon

Not a November starter, but just on my 2nd week. The food to date has all been good - there have only been a couple of things I haven't loved. Lost 3.6 my first week, so I know this will work for us.
About me - 46, married, no kids, 2 dogs, at my heaviest weight ever, 35 pounds to lose.
Good luck to all of us smile.gif

I'm on my second day and still loving it. My 3 year old always wants to eat the food and I have to tell him it's mommy's special food. It is too expensive to share and we don't get much so he is on his own! LOL. I wish I could eat his snacks any day. I'm 29 and a mother of 2 including a newborn. I've been married for almost 6 years and we are currently trying to buy our second home. So I am stressed to the max so this program seems perfect for me being that it is all planned out and I don't have to think about it.

Hi everyone! I started on Sat it was the 31st so I will consider myself a Nov Starter! I have loved all the food so far, and am very motivated. I have 40lbs to lose. My family has been very supportive so far and I am looking forward to learning all I can and being a good example for my kids. Good luck to everyone

Hi all,

I just joined on Mon. and started food on Tues. Did JC about 5 yrs ago after first child and tried nurtisystem about 3 yrs ago after birth of second child. Here I am again after my fourth baby (3 months) back on JC trying to lose 30 lbs. So far so good. Love the simplicity since I have such a crazy schedule with 4 kids. Finally putting me first so I can make sure I am here for the long haul with my children.

Hello! I have 70 pounds to lose and hope to lose as much as I can by my wedding, which is in May 2010. Nice meeting all of you and looking forward to chatting!

Thanks a lot-you are still dealing with the stress of having a sick spouse. That is rough but you are right-it is time to take care of ourselves. I have been on this since Friday and I am really loving the food.

Hi All, I am on my forth day and I am doing great. The food is great.
My only concern is I have a business dinner tonight, dinner plans on Sat and Sun night.
Now, I bought food not knowing I would have these plans. Can I tell my consultant that I have food left over so I don't have to buy it for the following week or does the food change every week?

Thank you all!

Hi All,
Just joined this morning out of the blue. I have been overweight all of my life, despite being a very active person. So obviously I have a problem with food ohmy.gif) It is a lot of money off the hop, but I am really excited about all the cash back incentives. I think it's really cool that instead of offering the program super cheap they reward your effort. I live in the middle of no where litterally, and I won't get my food till next friday (I hope), but I am going to come on here everyday to stay motivated. Good luck! Can't wait to start.
Kharla
I'll join the November bandwagon smile.gif I went to my first consultation and Oct 28 and started on the 29th. My first weigh in was yesterday and I lost 2.5lbs (Yippee!).

For exercises I have been doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred since Nov.1. Today was Day 5 and it was the first time I completed Level 1 without taking a break! *cheers*

Btw, oh my gosh, if you are substituting the Anytime Bar with a yogurt...you HAVE to try Yoplaits FiberOne KeyLime Pie yogurt. It is heaven sent! Only 50 cals, 5g of fiber, 4g of sugar...and it tastes delicious!

Hi all,
I joined on Monday and started the food on Tuesday. I have about 40 pounds to lose and am very excited to be trying JC. I travel for a living, so it will be interesting to see how this works for me starting next week. Hopefully, the forum will provide the support and encouragement I'll need while I'm on the road alone. smile.gif

Good luck to us all!

I've been on this since Saturday (Halloween) and I am enjoying the food but my stress levels have been sooooo high this week that I am struggling to stay away from all the things that I shouldn't be eating. The food is pretty good. There has only been a couple of things that I probably won't order again but almost everything else I've really enjoyed. I have to keep telling myself that this is a good thing that I'm doing for myself. And I know in the long run it will be.

Well...tomorrow is another day. Hopefully, my stress levels will be more under control

Hello all,

I just started this past Sat. I am loving the food. I am very excited. I have never been one to diet. I hate it. With JC I don't feel like I am dieting at all. My hubby and I joined together. We can't wait to step on the scale Sat. and see if we lost any weight. This morning I really felt a little lighter. I have a total of 50lbs to lose. I look forward to getting to know you and walking on this path together. Good luck to everybody!!! We can do this!

Hello everyone,
I Started yesterday and I have 75 pounds to lose. Got to admit I am terrified this won't work. I have tried so many times before and have always failed only to gain more weight. Hope I can do this.

Good Morning everyone! I'm on my 5th day and still loving this program. I eat a ton. Lots of veggies and fruits. I still think the food is good too. I just have to remember that this about losing weight so it's not going to be 100% delicious all of the time. My motto is "eat to live, not live to eat." I know we can do this. My first weigh in is on Monday. So I will make sure to update everyone on my first week. I did weigh myself this morning on my own scale and I'm down 4 pounds. I have officially lost all of my baby weight. YAY. I hope everyone did good their first week.
babybyrd28
Hi Molly,

My husband and I have been trying for several months to lose weight, including working out, only to gain more weight. I have been on JC for a week tomorrow and I think I have already lost 3-4 lbs! I don't even feel like I am on a diet. I haven't even worked out this week! So this is possible and you can do it. I have found in this short amout of time that this website is a great support. Last night I needed some quick intervention (I was hungry and done eating for the day) I went in a chat room and got support. It really helped. Know we are all here for you, you will do great with this program. Just keep looking forward and take one day or one meal at a time. Try not to stress about it and just walk it out. Good luck!!!

Hi all.... I started JC last Wednesday, but I consider myself a November starter also. I too was on Nutrisystem, and yes, it does work if you follow the plan, but I couldn't stand the food. Just couldn't go back to it again. This food is soooo delicious!

The only problem I am having is I have no appetite since starting last week. I am having a hard time eating everything on program, and I know it is a must. Is there something in the food that cuts down on appetites, or is it just me going through this? Once I start eating the prepared food, I actually want just a little bit more since the portions are really small. But I'd rather have the smaller portions and it taste great than have larger portions that taste lousy, like Nutrisystem, LOL.

Glad to be part of a forum again to have people to discuss the program with.
Kharla
sexyrn - Ooooh girrrrrl we are gonna have to get you ready for your man in March

dlock - I started last Wednesday too! Woohoo. Man, I totally know what you mean about feeling like you have no appetite. I spoke about it with my JCC and it is because we are not used to eating small portions spread throughout the day so closely. I myself used to only eat when my tummy started rumbling. Letting your body get to that point is not good since it slows down your metabolism by going in 'starvation mode'. Now, with the program, since you are giving your body fuel every 2 to 3 hours, you are not letting it go 'hungry' and are keeping your metabolism working. So, it'll feel like you are eating without being hungry...whiiiich reminds me I have to go eat a yogurt! tongue.gif
bjoyful
Just finished my first week on JC. For the most part, I was okay but yesterday I struggled--so much that I finally went to sleep to get away from the thoughts of food. But the weigh-in went okay today. I took 4.2 lbs. of weight off my body this week. I don't want to say I lost it because I never want to try to find it again. tongue.gif

Hi Lizzilo

Same thing here got the lapband two years ago lost about 30-35 pounds have gain 20 of that back. I will love for us to help motivate each other. It seems like when you get a fill it only works for a week with restriction and then after that it's back to the roller coaster ride restricted some days and then not. I just stop going back for a fill.

Yikes..I just started too. Feel a little apprehensive and am still not use to NOT finishing my kids plates!! I have 40 lbs to lose (at least) and am excited to begin this journey! I just had the turkey burger for lunch and it was excellent, so hope that is an indication of the quality of the food. Let's all keep positive and do this together!!!!

I just got weighed and I lost 6lbs the first week!! I'm so happy. I know it won't be that much going forward, but I'm off to a great start.

Week 1 - 6lbs, 39lbs to go!!
