Full Version: Starchy Veggies???

On your planned menu for supper it says a minumin 1/2 -1 1/2 cup of veggies and i was wondering if these veggies have to be free or say 1/2 cup of what ever it says can it be starchy veggies like corn or sweet potatoes???? I am just wondering cause i seem to like the starchy veggies better!!!! Corn and Yams are veggies right just not freebies or am i totally confuzed on this??? help!!!! smile.gif smile.gif thanks!!!!! huh.gif blink.gif blink.gif

When the menu says veggies it means free veggies, not starchy. You probably prefer the starchy veggies because they contain more sugars, which is why they are not free. You could fit starchy veggies in where you menu lists things like crackers or bread. Depending on what calorie level you're on, this could be quite difficult. Please discuss how to include some of these foods with your consultant at your next appointment.
