Ok! I was reading through the July starters and I was jealous. So! I started a thread for ALL October starters as well! smile.gif (/crossesfingers) I hope there are alot of us! smile.gif

Go go Halloweenies! (hope you don't mind if I call us that) smile.gif

So, my name is Zexxii. Not my real name but I use it on a video game I play. Ok, a video game I've been addicted to for 5 years and is how I got in this mess in the first place. smile.gif

I used to teach group fitness classes. Step, Cycling, and Yoga. However, I am a fast food junkie, and without working out (i stopped teaching and started playing 24X7) you tend to gain weight, especially if you have a tendency to gain weight anyway (like me!). I was down to eating one meal a day, (terrible for the metabolism) and I chose to eat (of course) ANY fast food I wanted, duh, I was only eating once a day. smile.gif Oh, and I would eat ice cream at night for "dinner" not every night mind you, but there are weeks where I would go through about 2 (quarts?) a week. I LOVE cookie dough ice cream.

So! Here I am, and I hope to meet alot of great people struggling with inactivity and bad eating habits just like me! Together, we can do this! I have a long way to go to get back to "me".

Who are YOU? smile.gif

I am an october starter too!!! I have lost 40lbs on my own after having my second kid and i"m at my original weight but not desired weight. I want to lose another 20lbs. I live in a small town of about 300 people so I am on Jenny Direct as there is no counsiling center in my entire state!!!!

I am struggling with the cost of this program more then anything else. The cost is probably my motivator...If I'm going to spend this much for something I'm going to make it work. So far the food has been ok...I look forward to my snack every night though LOL

Good luck to everyone in the October starters smile.gif
AmberD0626
Yay for Halloweenies!! lol

I am Amber, I started on 10/7. I was married in March 2007 and weighed 225 pounds, I saw the pics and cried! So I joined WW and lost 69 pounds...at 140 pounds, my grandma was the only one who told me that my head was too big for my body and my face was sunken in, lol. Looking back she was right!

Anyway, I maintained my goal for 3 mos, then my husband and I bought our first house. And I was working full time and in school full time. I lived off of fast food bc it was easier to go through the drive through between work and class. I slowly started putting weight on. I finished college and quit my job to start my own business. I am a Slumber Parties consultant (every party in october is called a halloweenie party lol). So now I work full time from home and about 3 nights a week I work parties. You would think that means I would exercise more...WRONG!!! I have gotten lazier! So, at 48 pounds more than my goal, I am ready to lose it...not all of it!!! I am here to lose 33 pounds, to put me 15 pounds above my WW goal weight bc I was happy there and looked healthy!!

I look forward to joing you all in this journey! Now I am off to eat my cheesy enchilada...YUM!!! I am excited to try this one for sure!

Hey there all October starters. I am restarting today 10/9 and would love to join the group. My name is Kelley and I am 25 years old and weigh 250 sad.gif I hate even saying that is how much I weigh, very embarassed at that. I am looking for my first goal to be 175. Then I will try and get down to 140. But I am going to take 10 pounds and a time. I don't want to start out with such a big goal and then get dissapointed if it doesn't happen fast!

Together we can do this!!

I am from New York, Where is everyone else from?
cougrl
I am in Montana...I guess I didn't give much info about myself....I am 31 years old and started at 180lbs. I intially started at 220 on my own. I have 2 kids with hopes to add one more so I will be on this weight roller coaster for a little while longer. Today for lunch I had the turkey club panini...it was really good but really small I thought...but it did fill me up!!!!

How do I add pics?

Hi! I'm a newbie too biggrin.gif Just started October 5th! Doing ok so far, food is actually pretty good. Although I have never eaten so many fruits and veggies in my life blink.gif Does anyone else wear the pedometer? Just wondering how many steps an average person take a day. Good luck everyone!
Arlena
Hi, today is my second day. I want to lose at least 50 pounds, I saw Felicia Rashad and was totally impressed and thought that I can do also smile.gif , the food is good, we will see...
danacara
Hi! I'm an October starter too. Oct 2 ... I've been on it for a week and I can already see a difference.

My first weigh-in is tomorrow and I'm hoping for 2 lbs. down, though that might be a little ambitious. This is the only place in the world where I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I have only 15 lbs to go, and man, is it crazy hard to lose these last 15. They feel like they take forever. smile.gif (I'm 5'4" and want to get to 140)

Can't wait to meet everyone! I live in a city of seven million, and most are strangers. I like very much to connect with people. smile.gif
phelana
Ya for Oct. starters..I started a week ago Sat. and have lost 4 pounds. LOVE most of the food. Much better than NS.

Hi All You Halloweenies!
I'm Christine and I just restarted Oct 6th. I'm a 41 yr old single mom of a teenage girl. ohmy.gif I just moved from Long Island NY to Melbourne FL a month ago. I was on JC for less than a year up in NY and lost about 15lbs...but struggled with cheating and exercise. sad.gif I am an emotional eater and with losts of personal issues and the big move I put back on a few of those lost lbs! dry.gif So now I have settled in to my new life here in FL (somewhat)...and want to get back on track with taking care of me!!! biggrin.gif I have about 31lbs to lose and I know I can do it with the support of all of you!
Good luck to Everyone and know I together we can ALL succeed!

~ Christine

ps: Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday...So any helpful hints to get through it unscaved would definitely be appreciated. wink.gif

Valerie Bertinelli is my HERO!!!

I hear you on losing the last bit of weight...I have been wanting to drop this last 20lbs for about 6months now and have done nothing but maintained...figured I must need to go to a lower calorie and couldn't do it on my own...so here I am. Doing great so far. I don't have the temptation to eat out where I live as we only have one resteraunt here in town but I am going to billings (80 miles away) 3 times this next week which is the hardest on me. I love eating out mainly because I get served rather then me serving my family smile.gif Wish me luck!!!!

Hello Cougrl!

Very nice to meet you. I'm assuming a play on cougar? wink.gif I know the feeling,
I too want to feel sexy again, hence this journey back to me. Small towns can be a curse and a blessing can't they? When I drove through Montana on my way to Harrisburg, I thought the place was absolutely beautiful. I wouldn't mind living there I don't think.

Amber,

I LOVE watching the halloweenies come to the door, so hey! we want to get weeny (er, anyway) too, so it fits! smile.gif The simplcity of this prgram is a godsend if you ask me. I would rather drive through a drive through then cook anything. I'ts simply faster and a helluvalot easier to clean up after. I loved my cheesy enchilada, and rated it a 10.

KJ,

Hello lady! We have the same amount to lose, and seem to hang out in chat alot, so we will get through this together for sure! Don't be surprised though, if I start asking you how many steps you've taken today, and tell you to go take some in chat. tongue.gif My first goal is 183, may I suggest your goal to be your halfway point first? I also set mini-goals for myself, of 10 pounds at a time. If anyone wants to have a ticker class, let me know, and we can get together and get them done!

Tiff,

/wave Tiff. Glad to have you onboard! I keep thinking this is a journey back to me, in fact, I started a blog with that theme in mind. smile.gif

Dana,

I started Oct 2 too! I thought weign-ins on Friday would help me keep track for the weekend. Although, I'm weighing myself on my own scale every Friday. We'll see what we can do to help you lose those last stubborn 15. smile.gif

Phelana, (i want to call you PhePhe (fifi) smile.gif

This is my first diet plan like this, and I tried JC because a co-worker of mine was on Nutri System and the food looked terrible! But this food is certainly edible. I was in the Navy for 8 years, and it's no worse, so...

Christine,

I'm an emotional eater as well, but it's time we take control of our emotions! At least that's what I tell myself. Together, we will get through this, so lean on us! smile.gif

Cheryl,

I keep telling myself this is a journey back to me, and along the way, I WILL change my relationship with food. I WILL change my eating habits to include the correct portion size, first and foremost. I think together, we CAN! smile.gif And we shall.

Ladies,

If anyone needs help with anything, please ask! If everyone is interested I can post how to make tickers, upload pictures, etc etc. I'm looking for a solid group of people who are in approximately the same spot I am on the program, as I feel we will be experiencing the same things about the same time. Plateaus, etc,

I'm VERY excited to meet you all and KNOW that together we WILL succeed. smile.gif

I'm on MSN daily at work if anyone is interested in chatting. Yogininic@hotmail.com. I also sit in chat alot although, that's a little harder to do.

I'm off to a festival to get some exercise, I'll check back later.

So, what should we challenge ourselves to this week? Taking steps? Not cheating? What say YOU? smile.gif

Hi! I want to be a part of this!
I started on Tuesday. My starting weight was 249. I just turned 55 and my motivation is to be healthy and active. (Looking good is of course a motivation too.) I live in California and my grown sons live in New York. My boyfriend is 62 and has lost 30 pounds through changes in his diet and walking. He is a good motivation and support for me. I would like to provide support and receive it from others.[/size]

Hey...made me laugh with that cougar comment...it is actually from my college year as I went to school at Washington State University and was a Couger. You sound like a great motivator...I'm on board for anything that will help get this weight off!!!!
danacara
This is becoming a really great thread! I just had my really fantastic lunch of the broccoli + cheese potato, fruit cup and anytime bar (I think I'm in the minority, but I love those chocolate peanut butter anytime bars. This is surely related to my obsession with all things peanut butter, stemming from childhood smile.gif).

I like the way I feel after I eat this food. When I overeat, I feel lethargic. This makes me feel energized.

Is anyone else using this weight loss timeframe to make other lifestyle changes? I just added a couple of new vitamins to my regimen (Andrew Lessman vitamins rock - they're actually going to be Today's Special on the Home Shopping Network tomorrow. I've been taking them for about six months and I notice a big difference in my overall health, so I want to amp that up even more) and I bought a 4 lb. toning ball and am going to start working out with that to try to buff up my arms and abs.

Challenge of the week: I'm going to Disney with friends from Friday through Tuesday. I'm going to be as reasonably and moderate with my eating as possible, but I won't be on-plan from Friday dinner through Tuesday lunch. Really not great. I'm going to use this as impetus to give 110% from now thru Friday and from next Tuesday thereon.

Halloweenies,
My goal for the week is to try the food and figure out what I like. I am also trying to figure out how to add free/limited foods to my day. So the menu in general is my plan. I have call the 1800 number 3 times in the past 3 days. At least I know they can answer my questions.
I like strict, rigid plans but I guess that is also my downfall. When I stop the diet I don't know how to make my own choices.
Take care,
Cheryl

Hey All, and welcome to the group all you newbies smile.gif I have read all the new posts, and was taking notes on everyones so I knew what to write but there just got to be so many so I think I am going to have to print them off, so I can read them and type what I want to reply to each one, so that will be a project for tonight.

I do think that we should all try and meet in the chat room as much as possible, even if we have to pick a "date/time" I think it would really help alot of us out.

I also think we should do a little mini challange, like Zexii mentioned. Like staying POP(perfect on Program) or how many steps we take in a day........

Like I said I will write more later when I get a chance to take notes on everyones posts.

Off to have my afternoon snack!!!

Happy Losing

Hi Halloweenies,

I'm a 52-year old grandmother of identical twin girls that just turned 5 years old this past summer (born on my B'DAY!) I can't keep up with them.

I was fit for most of my life, but took a consulting job 10 years ago which required either traveling every week or working from home alone everyday (one extreme to the other). I gained 72 pounds during this time.

I just started a job where I go to an office everyday and work with real live people! I live across the street from the office complex and plan to walk to work every day that weather and my schedule permits. There are also jogging trails that I walk at lunch when weather permits. I also plan on joining the company fitness center where there are several exercise classes taught every day, plus a huge center full of exercise equipment.

I started my Jenny Craig program a week ago an even with all the walking, I still only lost 1.4 pounds. I didn't cheat once on my diet last week, so I'm a bit disappointed.

I need encouragement!
kjzimpel
Ok so here I go I am sitting here having my afternoon snack, Cheese curls, and watching last weeks episode of Biggest Loser since I missed it and ready posts and going to reply to them.

Drwdg- I do wear me pedometer, but I am not sure what the "average" steps are a day. I would like to hit 10,000 steps, today is the first full day that I am wearing it so I will keep you posted on how I do.

Arlena- My first goal is 50 pounds!! We can do it!

Danacara- Its awesome that only after a week you can already tell a difference. Results will be a huge motivation for me. How did you WI go today? Yes I am not a fan of any of the anytime bars. I don't care for them at all.....Good luck while you are in Disney, have fun and I am sure you will do great. We are pulling for ya.

phelana- Congratulations on the 4 pounds lost! I agree I also love most of the food!

Christine, Welcome! Where did you live on Long Island, and if you don't mind me asking what centre did you go to, I live on LI. You can do the 31 pounds, I have faith in you!! With all of us holding each others hands, we will all be able to reach our goals.

Cougrl- Good Luck with the traveling to Billings, this coming week......Keep lots of free foods in your car to snack on, and LOTS of water!!! We are pulling for ya.

Cheryl- Welcome, and good luck with the program. You can do it!!

Zexxii- Yes we do have the same amount to lose, and I have set my fist major goal at my halfway point, but I am also taking it 10 pounds at a time. Don't worry I won't mind if you start asking me about my steps and mini challanges like that....I need it! Yes I want to get a ticker done! So you will have to walk me through it smile.gif
I saw you added me on MSN, can't wait to chat with ya again.

Marfar- Yes please join us, the more the merrier. We weigh about the same. Where do your sons live, I also live in NY, Long Island.

Tiffmorr- How many steps are you at? Good luck on the goal of 10,000!

Sunflwrchic- Welcome to the group! Its a great group so far, and I feel that everyone is really helping each other out

TwinsGrandmommy- Don't get frustrated. I know its probably easier said then done, but stick with it, you can do it. I do not know that much about the program so I can't offer and insight about why you would only drop that, but look at it this way, its something and its a start!!!! 5 year old twins huh? I bet that is exciting and fun, never a dull moment huh?

Well Ladies, I will check back in later and will probably be online in the chat room for a bit tonight. Good Luck to all, and happy losing smile.gif

If anyone has MSN my username is kjzimpel@hotmail.com, or AIM is nynannymn@aim.com Feel free to add me and chat!

Cougrl,

I moved from Washington state (Lake Stevens) about a year ago. I can't decide if I miss it or not. The sun is out ALOT more here, and there's a ton of hills they call mountains. Right now, the trees have leaves, and they're turning, so it's gorgeous, but in the winter, not so much. smile.gif

I hope, together, we can be motivating.

Dana,

I incorporated Dr Weil's vitamins which are super cool. I took a little test, and they suggested 50 vitamins. Which, I took out alot, but still eat alot, they come in individually wrapped, little pacakges with a 90 day supply. I really like the plan.

For Disney, I want you to think of us looking at you with stern looks any time you are contemplating eating too much or the wrong thing. We will ALL be with you and holding you accountable. So, don't be bad or we'll beat you (or something when) you get back! smile.gif (just kidding!)

Cheryl,

I like strict plans better as well. What this is teaching me so far, PORTION size. We'll work on adding "real" food in later. For now, let's just stick with the plan! I'm going to make notes for all of us, are little pitfalls, so keep sharing ladies!

Tiff,

You're in my area aren't you? Harrisburg? Let me know! We could start walking or something. smile.gif

Kelly,

I'm taking notes too. tongue.gif I'll be in the chat room often, don't worry. And if we need/want to make our own, I'll put something up on my website. smile.gif

Sunflwr,

Welcome to the group!

TwinsGrandmommy,

FIRST thing we're going to do is come up with a name that defines YOU. Instead of something related to another person! So... who are YOU, lady?!?! smile.gif

I can completely relate to working by yourself alot, I hope you enjoy your new job.!

Sounds like you have fitness surrounding you, that's a good thing. ONLY 1.4 pounds is FANTATSIC!
you LOST 1.4 pounds (not gaining is a GOOD thing). smile.gif Maybe you're eating TOO few calories?
Something to discuss with your consultant.

Well then, I'm off to have some lunch (yes, it's 620), then I have a paper to write, so I will be in the chat room all night tonight if anyone wants to pop in and interrupt me! smile.gif
Sonya-from-Ohio
My name is Sonya. I would love to be a part of the group. I am 34, live in Toledo, Ohio, and am an RN. Iwork FT as a case manager and spend most of the day sitting on my butt. I am also working on my MSN and will be done a year from this December. I am married to Gregory, and have a bonus son, Michael, who is 11.
I have always struggled with my weight. Right now-- I am at an almost all time high. I started JC direct on Thurs. weighing 296 which I am humiliated about. I actually still have a WW online subscription, but I lost my motivation there and was just too tempted by all of the choices. I am hoping that with staying on program (JC), ,my weight loss will motivate me to keep going. So far I really like most of the food, and other than the first day, haven't been hungry. I am on the 1500kcal menu and I let them chose my food for me.
My biggest problem is going to be the cost. I think when I am done with my 10 week package on Jenny Direct I am going to switch to going into the center to save on the shipping costs. Hopefully the fact that it is somewhat expensive will keep me on track. I do have to say that I appreciate the ease of having all of the food here and preplanned.
My biggest struggle will probably be getting exercise. Because of my size, its hard for me to do anything other than go for a slow walk. Right now I have bronchitis so I am out of commission with the exercise until the wheezing and coughing stops sad.gif
So how is everyone doing this weekend staying on track? Go- Halloweenies!

Hi Sonya,

Great to have you in the group! I saw you pop into chat, but wasn't quick enough before you popped out. smile.gif

I was born and raised in Sidney, Ohio, so I am a fellow Ohioan. smile.gif The cost can be an issue, I hope you can continue to do the program; however, if you can't, think of it this way, just follow the same guidelines and think PORTION CONTROL. smile.gif

A slow walk is better than no walk, so keep putting one foot in front of the other!

Welcome Sonya,

I too stuggle with the cost of it but using it more as a motivator. If I"m going to spend this much on something there is no way I'm going to let myself fail. I am a stay at home mom and we are on single income. My husband owns the towing and tire shop here in town so we are on a REALLY TIGHT BUDGET!!!! When I told him how much JC cost he gasped but when I explained the benifits he became ok with it. I made it a priority for me so I will find a way to work it into the budget!!!!

Good luck!!!!! It's getting to be more fun the more people I am meeting!!!!

Thanks Zexxi and Kara! So far so good. Just got done with day three and so far no cheating. When I can start at the center that will help and will save $130/mo. DH wasn't thrilled when I told him I joined... but he wasn't mad or anything. I think that this is going to be a good group as well and will really help to get me off of my butt. I am looking forward to being able to get outside and walk. Hopefully I can get over this soon! I am a whiny sick person. LOL.
The only food I haven't liked so far is the chicken corn chowder. Anyone have any favorites so far or any food they didn't like?

Hi Zexxii, Phelana, Christine L., cougrl (go Cougers! I am a Tiger by alumni, ha), Cheryl Lamb, Marfar, Tiffmorr, Kjzimpel, Sunflwrchic, TwinsGrandmommy, Sonya-from-Ohio,

Zexxii: it'll be so great to lose these last 15. I've been on the s.l.o.w decline for a long time - at my peak, I was about 185 on my 5'4" frame, and I felt sluggish and tired all the time. I got to about 165 in '05 on WW, and then down to 155 over the last three years with a bit more exercise, but I am tired of this journey and I am ready to get to the DESTINATION where I feel like a healthy, svelte, sleek babe ... before we try to conceive baby #1 sometime next spring/summer! smile.gif Your username is cool, what's the origin of it? Also, a friend of mine from college is an engineer in Harrisburg now ... pretty area!

Kjzimpel: My weight in went great, thanks! I'm down 3.8. I think it was really more like 2 or 2.5, but my original weigh-in was made artifically high by my visiting monthly friend. smile.gif Thanks for the Disney support! It's the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot, which will present extra challenge, but I'm confident that I can try hard and do as best as is possible for myself. How are those cheese curls? I got them yesterday for the first time, and they're in my cabinet waiting for this upcoming Thursday. smile.gif

Sonya: my favorite foods so far are the spaghetti & meatballs (YUM), the cheesecakes, the chicken enchilada, the breakfast scramble, the broccoli & cheese potato, and the mac & cheese. I've heard that the chicken corn chowder is not their best effort. smile.gif What have been your faves so far? The food is, in my mind, almost shockingly good.

Does anyone else find that the cost makes them more committed? Every time I have been even faintly tempted to eat something that's off-plan, I think of the $ I'm spending to lose weight, and it helps get me back onto the straight-and-narrow. I feel that this is a really good thing.

My mother is coming to visit me today (she lives about 45 mins. away). I'm blessed with a SUPER supportive mother. She fights the same weight issues I've always dealt with, and she's also in a losing phase right now, so I think the two of us might go to the gym and walk on the treadmill set to an uphill incline. I love that uphill incline! I think it does a lot for butt definition! smile.gif

Have a great day ladies ...
Chloe28
Hi! I've been on JC since 10/3/09. I have gained 40 pounds in two years. My current employment is very stressful and I got into the habit of eating late at night. I would skip breakfast and sometimes lunch depending on how busy I was at work. By the time I got home, I would eat fast food and other snacks. I could not control my eating and needed help. I researched JC on the Internet before deciding that I would like to try it. So far, I have done very well eating the food. I eat all of the meals and it leaves me satisfied without cravings when I get home from work.
Yesterday was my first weigh-in. I lost 5.8 pounds. I couldn't believe it. I even ate out on two different occasions during the week.
I also exercise at a gym. I do the group fitness classes. This past week I exercised three days for an hour each day. I believe that contributed to my successful weight loss.
I hope everyone else is doing well and would love to become a member of this group.

Zexxii
Dana,

The name comes from an online game that I play. Although, I haven't played much this week! smile.gif I wanted z's and x's when I was making up a name, so that's what I came up with. Oh, and I am a Bearcat! (cincinnati)

Chloe,

Welcome to the group! I can understand stressful jobs and fast food. smile.gif Where ya from? What do you do for a living? (please be generic, no names!) Which group fitness class is your favorite?

So, I went out and bought a pedometer yesterday, and I'm off to a festival today. Let's see how many steps I take!

Dana!

Cost is one of my biggest motivators!!! I have to save money every week to buy my food and I want half of my registration back!!! I love the cash incentives!! And thinner thighs too of course, lol!

Happy Sunday Everyone! So its going to be a tough one for me today, not to stay on plan but to get all my foods in. I couldn't fall asleep last night at all, I know it was after 2 am, when I finally did....so needless to say I woke up this moring at 11:45 so I just had my breakfast now at 12. May have to have my evening snack as a dessert right after my dinner tonight, we will see. How is everyone doing today, I need some punishment I cheated a little last night and had two bites of pizza sad.gif I struggled with telling the group, but I decided you know what I should have to tell them, and be embarassed about it becuase the next time I want to do something like that I will stop and think......Do I want to tell the group What I did.......or what will so and so say on the forum when they find out!

Up for foods today are: Sunshine Sandwich which I love, Soup Bowl for Lunch which is making me nervous, I am not a HUGE soup fan(I may switch it with my salad kit, cuz then it won't fill me up either so I can still have my dinner at a decent time) Then tonight I have Chicken Fettuccine and the Lemon Cake, don't think I have tried either of those, so we will see.

My Pedometer was VERY low last night, I don't do as much walking on the weekends but hoping to get a few more today, may have to go for a walk. Might see if the girl I nanny for wants to go for a bike ride, that might be fun with all the colorful leaves that are on the trees now. Gotta watch some Football and Baseball first.

Sonya- Welcome to the group. I also agree I love having the food for me, telling me what to eat and everything, just got to throw it in the microwave and its done. Do you have goals set? As far as the exercising goes, I would set a goal like you are going to walk so much for three days a week to start, even if its only 15 minutes, its a start and each week try to improve it 5 minutes then add a day or something. You can do it!!! How about weight goals do you have any of those? I want to lose a total of 100 pounds. My first Major goal is 50 pounds, but I am setting mini goals like 10 pounds. With each 10 pounds I lose I am goign to reward myself with something like a Spa Pedicure or an hour massage.

Danacara- WOOHOO Good job on the weight lost!! That is awesome. The Cheese curls were all right, they are not my favorite.......I am not sure which snack is my favorite to be honest. Have fun with your mom. I grew up in Minnesota and my mom still lives there but I moved to New York 5 years ago, and she is coming out here for a week over Thanksgiving, so I am super excited, would love to have lost my first 10 pounds by then!! Speaking of butt defention(on the uphill climb) has anyone heard of or tried the Fit Flops or the Sneakers that are supposed to help with the muscles in your legs and butts?

Chloe- Welcome to the group, its a new group but sure has taken a great start. There are lots of wonderful people in here who are very supportive and motivational. Almost 6 pounds down huh? That is great.....keep it up. Yes the exercising really does help, I have been going twice a week for the last two weeks but hoping to add another day this week and keeping adding them until I get up to 5 days.

Zexxii- Have fun at the festival and do lots of walking, We want to see BIG NUMBERS when you come back!

Amber- Welcome to the group, not sure if I have said Hi to you before, there are getting to be lots in the group, I can't remember everyone anymore. What do you mean half your registration back, is that a special they are running?

Michele-thats much easier to type then sunflwrchic smile.gif. WOW 18 miles good for you! I am sure now with the food you will see the pounds coming off. Keep it up girl!!!

Tiff, Marfar, Cheryl, Cougrl, Christine, Phelana, TwinsGrandmommy, (Hope I got everyone in todays post) How are you guys doing?

Have a wonderful day!

Hi! I started on Tuesday 10/6 (weigh in on Monday nights though). I got married September '08 and gained the newlywed 10+ pounds... but i so don't want to be that girl, so here i am...

I had previously lost 40 pounds on WW but i needed something with a little more structure this time around because i know how to work the WW program a little too well. I was using my points on wine and 100 calorie packs ;-)

My first week on JC is going pretty well, although i'm struggling to eat so many fruits/veggies! But i'm doing my best. smile.gif

Best of luck to all my October peeps!

Hey Sunflower chic,

Doing good today so far...I was hungry yesterday so I did eat an extra banana and that seemed to be ok. I wish I could be a little bit more full. I do drink about 96 oz of water a day to keep my hunger down...I have troubles eating the free stuff...

For lunch I am making my family enchiladas and I'm going to eat my enchiladas...I'm thinking my hubby might like this diet as I try to match what i'm eating to what I fix for him...usually it's fend for yourself in this house...so he is getting meals...

I just realized I forgot snack this morning but I did munch on some apple pieces as I was cutting them up to be dried. Will have to eat my yogurt this afternoon instead of the usual fruit.

Hope everyone has a good day smile.gif

Hi everyone, im new to this forum thing so i hope this message works. I am almost 18 years old and have about 80 pounds to lose. I technically started Sept. 24 but this group has such support and that is what i need so here i am. My two biggest problems are cost and time. Since i'm still at home and in school, my parents pay for my program and cant afford a whole 7 days for me, especially because my mom and sister also want to start, so im more on a five day program, having a regular, healthy dinner or lunch a couple times a week. My family is also a family that likes to travel a lot which means regular internal fights with myself- especially since im a picky eater (thanks mom haha) and dont always enjoy the most healthy thing. this is a big problem isn't it? haha
I also have a very hard time finding time to work out. I like to switch up my activities and dont like to feel like working out is a chore but i cant seem to get creative in my work outs. I take 7 classes, including a night class. Two of these are AP classes which require a couple hours of homework a night and this is especially difficult if i have to go to a night class. I really need motivation from anyone who can give it. Thanks everyone!
AmberD0626
kjz- yes, when I signed, i was told that if I maintain for a year within 5 pounds of my goal, then I will get $199 back, WOOHOO!!!!

I havent been on since friday. I have been on program 100% all weekend. Yesterday was tough because I do home parties, and I have one at 1pm and a second one at 7pm. Which meant I was on the road all day. So I packed my meals in a cooler with my snacks as well. Then during the break in the first show, I had my snack. And when I was finished, I used my hostesses microwave and ate my meal on the road. Then had my yogurt and fruit on my ride home from the final show. I logged 4900 steps, which I thought was good since I didnt have any time to actually take a walk.

Today I slept in until 1100, so I had to start my day a little late. I had the sunshine sandwich today, which I actually enjoyed. And the corn and chicken chowder for lunch...ummm not my fave, I added some green beans to help it, but I wont be putting that on my menu again! Now I have a snack left, followed by dinner and cake:) Bu I have a party at 7, so my dinner will be eaten before, and when I get home, I will eat my final snack.

So far Jenny Craig has been easy to adapt too. Sometimes I find myself tired of fruits and veggies, lol but I am adjusting. We go away for 4 days starting thursday, so I am VERY nervous about that, but I know its all about planning.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hey Janderson,

Cost is a problem for most people...this is an expensive program but it seems to work. As for your mom and sister getting on it I believe if you signed up for premium service you get 50%off passes to give to your family..that will cut the $359 down. I think I read that somewhere. I am also making it cheaper on me by not buying their breakfast and having a cup of cereal that is around 110 calories and a cup of non fat milk every morning then a lowfat yogurt that is less then 100 callories for snack instead of an anytime bar. However you have to be pretty disiplined to do a meal on your own I think. I had already lost 40lbs before starting JC and when I told my consultant this she was ok with the adjustment.

As for the exercise...if you make it a prioirty for yourself you will do it!!!! I really don't like the process of exercising but I love the feeling afterwards of accomplishment. Just start small and work your way up.

Congrats on choosing to lose weight!!!! And good luck smile.gif

Hi Kari,
I do the same thing a couple times a week for breakfast, usually some cheerios. My mom and sister are going to start next week i believe, hopefully the program can help them too. I did the program about two years ago and it helped me take off around 25 pounds and then i stopped because i was so busy. At the time i also played basketball year round, which i don't anymore and that leaves me with not a lot of exercise. But i'm ready to make a full commitment, not just to lose weight but to make a lifestyle change. I'm getting ready to go on a long walk with a friend, your encouragement and everyone else's gives me motivation. Thank you and goo luck this week!

Ok I am also a newbie here. I am so frustrated with the weight gain i have had over the last 6 months or so. I had lots of stress in my life and have been unable to get motivated to get moving again. I need to lose 25-30 lbs to get back to feeling like my old self. Hopefully the support here is going to help![[/b]

I'm from NJ. smile.gif

I could definitely use some veggie ideas! I'm a novice cook, so i pretty much need a recipe in front of me with everything verbatim. People give me recipes by saying "oh a little of this and a little of that" and yeah, that recipe is never going to happen in my kitchen unless it's spelled out for me! in the last year, i've definitely been better with cooking as long as i have good instructions ;-)

I'm worried about this upcoming week... i just looked at my calendar and i have a game night with friends (including dinner), a fondue/wine night with other friends, and volunteering for a good portion of next Sunday which means I'll need foods on the go. I'll talk to my consultant when i meet with her tomorrow, but this week i already gave up one social engagement for JC... i can't do that every week and live my life! Does anyone else find this tough to do and go out with friends who are not on JC?
Sonya-from-Ohio
I like to add some halved cherry tomatoes to some green beans and saute in a pan, sometimes I will throw in some sliced mushrooms. I also like to add Mrs Dash to add some kick to my veggies.
Is anyone doing the preplanned menus? Or do you choose your own foods? I have been doing the preplanned ones. Does anyone know how many weeks of menus there are or do the same two weeks keep repeating?
Hope everyone's day went great!
Gonna eat my last snack for day 4 and then I will be done:)
Goodnight!

Good luck! I am worried about the social events as well. Do you want me to send you a reminder to behave text message while you are at your event? Or maybe you could check in with this group after for some accountability?

Hi Jess, where in NJ? I grew up in Morris County, went to college in Mercer, and now I spend a lot of weekends in Middlesex, Monmouth and Cape May. smile.gif

Do you have a long journey ahead of you or will it probably be more in terms of a few months? I have about seven or eight weeks to go before maintenance starts (I think), and I am telling myself that I can turn down some friend events because it's not going to be forever!
Can you bring veggies to fondue night? Would the host be cool with that?
remember ... it's not going to be forever that you'll have to stay on the horse 24/7!
