Hello!

I just started this week. This was a long time coming...what brought me to Jenny was realizing that I was having trouble losing weight on my own. Right now, I feel like I need the structure to get me back on the road to a more healthy weight.

I know that 85lbs is a lot to lose, but I'm prepared and motivated to make this happen. It took years to get to this weight, after all (and I am so embarrassed that my weight got this high!)

So any advice for this newbie would be greatly appreciated!
Katlinkrn
I'm Kathy, and I'm doing Jenny Direct. I started the program on Friday 10/09. So far, I've been on program for 3 days, and have stuck with it! (I think my average on weight watchers was a couple of hours!!!) LOL. I guess I've just done WW so long, that it was boring, and I knew that I could eat junk, and stay within my points...which then usually led to going OVER points...and, you get the picture!

I was most afraid of spending all this money, and the food tasting horrible. (I've heard so many bad stories about Nutristystem food) But everything I have had so far has tasted awesome! Much better than any frozen meal I can buy at the grocery store. And surprisingly, they are pretty filling.

It'll be nice having our own "Halloween" group to get us through all the holidays. We can be a strong front against the big bad holiday candy and goodies!

fantaseas
I am a newbie awaiting ro my first food shipment to arrive this week. Scared and excited!

I work out on a pretty regular basis but LOVE to eat....and drink!

Looking forward to all the support I can get! Tried all the other weight loss programs. Hoping this will be the last!

Hi Jess, where in NJ? I grew up in Morris County, went to college in Mercer, and now I spend a lot of weekends in Middlesex, Monmouth and Cape May. smile.gif

Do you have a long journey ahead of you or will it probably be more in terms of a few months? I have about seven or eight weeks to go before maintenance starts (I think), and I am telling myself that I can turn down some friend events because it's not going to be forever!
Can you bring veggies to fondue night? Would the host be cool with that?
remember ... it's not going to be forever that you'll have to stay on the horse 24/7!

I'm in Bergen County, but i've hung out in Morris alot and of course spent my summers at the Jersey Shore. smile.gif

I want to lose 29 pounds (give or take a few). So my journey is probably just for a few months. I know the social life will slow down come January, but so much happens in the fall (Halloween parties, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc) and i want to enjoy doing these things before we have kids (which we're planning for next year). I am planning on bringing veggie platters for the social events i attend, but it's going to be tough to stay away from the cheese fondue ;-)

Good Morning Ladies, and Happy Monday.....

I wear in tomorrow morning, I am not expecting a HUGE amount becuase I just started on Friday and I am weighing in already on Tuesday. But hoping for something. I am going to a professional hockey game today, so I am going to have to eat my lunch before I go and my dinner after i get home, and I am hoping to sneak in my snack and some grapes. I guess I will have to buy a water there.

Fairy Nurse- Welcome to the group. Pull up a chair, the support is great!

Jess- I am with you as far as the cooking goes, my mom can cook without measuring anything or a reciepe. But I need something to follow step by step! I find when I go out with my friends to events. I will tell them, I am on JC and tell them to not let me munch on anything, I also tell that to everyone in the house and I have had people come over and take stuff from me. It helps alot!

Sonya- I do the preplanned menus, but I do change a few meals that I don't like, but I can't help you on that question about how many menus there are. Sorry!

Gopopogo- Welcome to the group, 85 pounds is within reach, just set mini goals at a time. I have 100 to lose, and but my first major goal is 50, but I have mini goals of 10 each. You can do it, just keep coming here for support and motivation! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Katlinkrn- WElcome!! Where are you from? I also started on Friday and I love the food!!! Hope you stop by and chat with us lots!

fantaseas- Welcome to you also. So excited for you that you are waiting for your first shipment. Where are you from? Do you have lots to lose? While you are waiting for your food I would suggest starting to potion and eating lots of small meals a day. Also if you don't drink water, start that also, and don't forget your fruit and veggies. When you get your food make sure to let us know how things are going.

Well Everyone I am off to have some breakfast and get my water bottled filled, I did really good with water yesterday(I really don't like water)

Hope all is well!

**HOW MANY STEPS DID PEOPLE TAKE YESTERDAY??**

Very cool! I've hung out in Bergen a lot smile.gif We want to TTC #1 next year too! We will prob. start next summer
Totally tough to stay away from the cheese fondue, but you can do it. And 29 pounds will melt off on this plan ... you'll be on maintenance by Easter.
Whenever the social food beckons ... think of how amazing you'll feel in your bikini in Point Pleasant and Ocean City! (we go to Manasquan every summer and I am so TIRED of feeling like I'm 20 lbs. heavier than all of the other girls. Next year it will be DIFFERENT. smile.gif)

Ok so here I go I am sitting here having my afternoon snack, Cheese curls, and watching last weeks episode of Biggest Loser since I missed it and ready posts and going to reply to them.

Drwdg- I do wear me pedometer, but I am not sure what the "average" steps are a day. I would like to hit 10,000 steps, today is the first full day that I am wearing it so I will keep you posted on how I do.

Arlena- My first goal is 50 pounds!! We can do it!

Danacara- Its awesome that only after a week you can already tell a difference. Results will be a huge motivation for me. How did you WI go today? Yes I am not a fan of any of the anytime bars. I don't care for them at all.....Good luck while you are in Disney, have fun and I am sure you will do great. We are pulling for ya.

phelana- Congratulations on the 4 pounds lost! I agree I also love most of the food!

Christine, Welcome! Where did you live on Long Island, and if you don't mind me asking what centre did you go to, I live on LI. You can do the 31 pounds, I have faith in you!! With all of us holding each others hands, we will all be able to reach our goals.
Cougrl- Good Luck with the traveling to Billings, this coming week......Keep lots of free foods in your car to snack on, and LOTS of water!!! We are pulling for ya.

Cheryl- Welcome, and good luck with the program. You can do it!!

Zexxii- Yes we do have the same amount to lose, and I have set my fist major goal at my halfway point, but I am also taking it 10 pounds at a time. Don't worry I won't mind if you start asking me about my steps and mini challanges like that....I need it! Yes I want to get a ticker done! So you will have to walk me through it smile.gif
I saw you added me on MSN, can't wait to chat with ya again.

Marfar- Yes please join us, the more the merrier. We weigh about the same. Where do your sons live, I also live in NY, Long Island.

Tiffmorr- How many steps are you at? Good luck on the goal of 10,000!

Sunflwrchic- Welcome to the group! Its a great group so far, and I feel that everyone is really helping each other out

TwinsGrandmommy- Don't get frustrated. I know its probably easier said then done, but stick with it, you can do it. I do not know that much about the program so I can't offer and insight about why you would only drop that, but look at it this way, its something and its a start!!!! 5 year old twins huh? I bet that is exciting and fun, never a dull moment huh?

Well Ladies, I will check back in later and will probably be online in the chat room for a bit tonight. Good Luck to all, and happy losing smile.gif

If anyone has MSN my username is kjzimpel@hotmail.com, or AIM is nynannymn@aim.com Feel free to add me and chat!

I lived in Holtsville on Long Island. Went to the Selden center which then switched to Centereach soon before I moved. Where do you live in LI? I was born and raised on LI...lived there pretty much my whole life...41 yrs until now.

I've never worn a bikini in my entire life (okay, maybe when i was like 4... but that doesn't really count!). I always say "next year, i'm going to be able to wear one", but even at my thinnest, i still didn't feel like it would work on me. So maybe next year will really be it for me smile.gif

Yeah, i think we'll start TTC'ing around June at this rate... it keeps getting pushed back... lol! Oh well... more time to enjoy the newlywed life ;-)

Hello Everyone!
WoW...I didnt get a chance to get on here for a few days and BOY has this group grown! smile.gif
It took me forever to catch up on all the new posts. LoL
So my first week back was pretty good...but tomorrow will tell. I weigh in at 9am! unsure.gif
I ALWAYS struggle with the water consumption, steps per day and exercise motivation sad.gif
I have had mixed reviews from different JC consultants about the water...I'm not a big fan of plain water (sometimes but not ALWAYS) so I tend to drink crytal lite to achieve my water goals...but I had one consultant say thats fine and another say thats not acceptable. Any thoughts???
Well I hope everyone has a fantastic week...keep up the good work...and lets all stay motivated! biggrin.gif
I'm going to try and motivate myself to go to the gym now sad.gif
And great idea to give IM Screen Names...every little bit helps!
My IM Screen Names are:
Google Talk: christineshomes
Windows Live Messenger: christineshomes@gmail.com
Anyone feel free to add me...love to IM Chat!
I'm also on FaceBook...but dont know the link to my profile...LoL! I'll have to check on that one.

Hi, Just joined JC this morning. Much thought and much research. Start the program in the morning. Hoping for good results.
I am 61 years young, happily married to a great guy, and very much enjoying NOT being in corporate America anymore! I have 82 pounds to lose. Have tried WW but just couldn't keep motivated with that. Seemed all I did was think about food. With this much weight to lose I need the decisions taken out of the process until things are more in reach.
Here is hoping for success. I want my old body back. I am tired of sore knees and back pain. I want to be able to go on long walks again.
Wishing all great success.

Happy Monday morning 'Weenies! smile.gif (i'm actually not this cheery on mondays, but I feel really good today!)

Sonya,
There are four prelanned menus per tier, I believe, check out this link: http://www.jennycraig.com/etools/menuplanner/resources/#0

Dana,

The point of this, imo, is to learn new habits, and make lifestyle changes, to train ourselves to make good choices, always, to learn portion control, so, we have to stay on the horse 24/7 so we don't wind up right back where we started. And in my opinion, stay on the horse forever. /bonk smile.gif

Popo? (go popo go?)
Welcome to the group! Very glad to have you! smile.gif I have always been up and down with my weight, and I joined for similar reasons, I knew I would have trouble losing on my own,
as I have terrible eating habits and am now not exercising at all. Where in California do you live?

Kathy,
Welcome to the group. There are SO many ways we can look at being 'Weenies. smile.gif I think most of us were afraid the food would be horrible, and you're right, it's not! smile.gif So, where are you from?

Fan,
Welcome to the group. Nice play on words. smile.gif Where ya from? How much do you have to lose?

So, ladies, how do we handle social situations where (at least I know I would) eat as much
chocolate or <insert vice here> as you wanted? (which for me, usually ended up being alot)
I think the key is learning how to have fun without food. So many of our social gatherings revolve around food. For me, I think I'll miss the "high" that the sugar
gave me which made me feel more comfortable in that particular social situation. So, maybe I should work on self confidence?

What are YOUR vices at parties? And what can we do to overcome the NEED to eat at social events?

ps.
Steps taken: 0 (i just setup the pedometer, still trying to get it calibrated, it's definitely off tongue.gif)

Point well taken! (considering myself bonked ... ha) ... I do think that one day, in the future, a reasonable portion of cheese fondue will probably pass my skinny-person goal-achieved lips, as part of some future dinner party (probably to be followed by a stint on the elliptical machine). But that is not gonna happen until these last 12.8 lbs are GONE (unless you count the insides of the Chicken Stuffed Sandwich lunch I just ate to be "cheese fondue.") Until then, it's both-of-my-eyes, straight-to-the-mission. smile.gif

Great question about social vices and dinners. It is a hard topic. Generally, I stuff myself with vegetables before I go and then try to distract myself with conversation, seltzer with lime, and moving around. For me, it's not so much a confidence battle ... it really is a "that looks so delicious" battle in my mind. Therefore distracting myself away from the food and instead in the direction of people is key.

Went to dinner last night with the family(happens every Sunday). The benefit of telling my family that I just joined Jenny is letting it be known that I probably won't be eating, that I'm there to be with them.

They were all SO supportive...and believe me the temptation was there. We went to a favorite Chinese restaurant. I had a soupatizer before going, and pretty much drank water while everyone ate.

There was a moment when I told my family I just wanted to eat 1 chow mein noodle. Just one! And everyone at the table said "DON'T DO IT!".

Wow. That's what I call support, it made it very easy for me to stay within plan. I felt that I had just reached an important milestone...I withstood the temptations of overeating, and having a family that was behind me 100% made it easy!

I'm starting to think I can do this.
Zexxii
Dana,

Yes, so far, what I've learned, is I can have pretty much anything in moderation. But the daily McDonald's, Taco Bell, and half a bag of Reese's (the little cups) is gone forever, and tbh, I think I've had enough of all of that to last me a lifetime. smile.gif

Carol,

You absolutely can do this. Next time you go with your family, maybe try some of the Chinese veggies with that tasty chili sauce most restaurants have?

Oh! and guess what i found in the refrigerated section of my grocery store (wow, i'm going to the grocery again) TOFU noodles (i LOVE chili and spaghetti, thought i'd pour my turkey chili over these noodles next time):

Yeah, a group for me. My name is Lynn, in 2006 I did Jenny and lost over 60 lbs. Now I am back and want to lose 20! I started back officially 10/9. I am starting to train for marathon in June so I need to lose 20. My dream weight is under 155. This am naked I was 175. So it can be done... I just HAVE to do it! My first WI is not for another week (due to my and Jenny's schedule) so I hope to be down at least 3 lbs!
Good Luck to all, keep posting!

Today has been good so far, started with the french toast, YUM! I am not a fan of the berries, so what I have been doing is taking my fruit in the morning, with my milk and a little splenda and having a smoothie every morning with breakfast!!! Yum!!!! Makes me feel more full and its tasty! I had my snack and vitamins, and lunch is in the oven...broccoli and cheese potato! I am looking forward to it:)

Here is my question: I looked at the 4 tiers of my calorie level, and there are a couple of items that I am not thrilled with. My JCC sent me an email that told me I can pick out my personalized meals...if I do that, does JC still put them into days planned for me so my days are still a nutritional unit? Or is it up to me to plan them out? Because that idea scares me lol. Thanks!
Christine L.
Ok I have totally stupid questions...that have nothing to do with the program or food.
1. What makes some of us Newbies and some of us Advanced Members?
2. Why doesn't my picture show up...I uploaded one?
Any help...LoL wink.gif
Zexxii
Amber,

My JCC told me I can swap out any Bfast for any Bfast, Lunch for Lunch, etc, so, what I'm going to do, is swap in my favorite foods for the one's I don't like, but still follow the Preplanned menus.

Christine,

1. The number of posts (i think)
2. Are you sure it wasn't too big to upload? And did you mean to load it in your avatar settings?
Bethie2819
My name is Beth and I just started this October too!!!!! WOO HOO, I hope by this time next year I can wear my old jeans and go as the increadible shrinking woman. I am so happy so far with the food and the program, talk about easy to follow. I am also thrilled with the online support. Thanks to my center and all of you I KNOW I CAN DO THIS!!!!
AND YOU CAN TOO

Welcome to the group Beth,

Ladies,

I see no suggestions on how we are going to change our habits at parties. Does no one have any?!?! sheesh. smile.gif

As for parties... i usually bring a veggie or fruit platter (depending on the occassion) and *try* to stick with that. I also go to the gym and do extra time on the elliptical (or whatever) as i know i'm going to splurge a little. This strategy always worked for me while i was on WW. I'm hoping it'll work for me on JC too smile.gif

Hi all!

My name is Alyssa.. and I have 80 lbs to lose. I joined in late August, but started in September. So far I've lost 15 & 1/2 pounds on Jenny. I'd love to be a part of this group thoug... it seems super active. I joined a Septembr group but there's not much activity. I think it's important to continue posting your successes, chatting with others, keeping up your motivation!! So that's what I'm trying to do.

I'm 21, senior in college, and definitely need some support. I am really loving Jenny, and I loved reading everyones post here. My short term goal is to lose 20lbs by Halloween... only 4.5 more to go!

Hope you're all having a great day smile.gif take care

AmberD0626
So do you tell them you want the preplanned but swap certain items? Or just order your faves and then keep the snacks and such the same?

As for parties, I havent attended one yet, but I will be eating before going to the party and will be snacking on fruit and veggies!!!!!
Zexxii
Welcome Alyssa, Glad to have you! Sounds like you're rolling right along on your plan. Are you exercising at all?

Amber,

I'm not sure yet, as I got two automatic shipments at first. She told me to tell her what I want to substitute, but I'm going to get clarification Friday.

Like, I never want to see French Toast again, when it's on the menu, please substitute the pancakes. Is what she's getting at though, I think.

Hey Ladies, Welcome to the new ones. Today has been a great day. I had my first "temptation" I was at a New York Islanders game this afternoon from about 1:30-4:30 and everyone else had meals there and popcorn and sodas. I ate lunch before I went and brought my brownie and some apples to the game, and now I am going to have dinner in a bit. I have also been working on drinking me water and doing great at it.

Question, I reguested to get emails at the end of the day from the groups I have joined, but want to change that to getting it as soon as someone else posts something. Does anyone know how to change that setting? Will check back later this evening and will probably be in the chat! Hope you all have a great day!

Hi All,

I'm an October Newbie. I started on Oct 3rd. My starting weight was 177 and my goal is 140. I had Gastric Bypass Surgery three years ago on September 14th. I lost down to 154lbs. Then just this year in June I moved from Kansas to Texas and started putting the weight back on. I decided to join Jenny Craig because of the commercials on TV. So far so good! My first weight in was Saturday and I lost 4lbs. I was so excited. I'm back in control again and loving it! I love the food! It is expensive but I truly think it's worth it! Happy Halloween to everyone.

Hello all,

I started on October 9, and I am hoping to lose around 20 pounds. I need a little bit of help. I have the challenge of my 34th birthday coming up this Friday, and I have plans to meet up with friends on different days for lunch or dinner. I have some friends who are not the most supportive when it comes to weight loss, partially because they have not been very successful in managing their own weights. I've always been health conscious (except for the last few months because I was studying for the Bar Exam, which got me into trouble weight-wise!), but many of my friends are not so much so...

Since I am so new to the program, I really don't want to stray from the exact plan so that I can make sure it is really going to work for me. So I have tried to ask them to meet me for coffee instead of a full-on meal. But a couple of my friends are putting the guilt trip on me for not going out to "celebrate" and all that stuff. (Whose birthday is this anyway???) Does anyone have any thoughts as to how to explain things to people who aren't quite so understanding?

This looks like a great support for October Starters. I'm glad I have a place to go to find people with similar mindsets and challenges!

Hi Michelle!

18 miles? Wow... that's a ton of exercise. Wtg! & 2.1 is awesome. I'm hoping I can lose 4.5 by Halloween. The only issue I'm having is that I really haven't been exercising. Since I started school again (late Sept), it's been really hard to fit exercising in to my schedule. Really the only exercise I've been getting has been walking (maybe a couple miles) to & from bus, around campus, etc. (so that answers your question Zexxii smile.gif

As for parties, for me I just hit the veggies & the fruit & have my Jenny meal either before or after. It hasn't been so much an issue for me, because I keep seeing the pounds come off and that's motivation it of itself to keep on going, one day at a time!

Thanks for welcoming me smile.gif I'm just so thrilled to have found a weight loss program that works so well with me & my lifestyle.

Check in later!

Hi October people!
Tomorrow is my first weigh-in. I am looking forward to it. I have felt really good this week. I haven't been hungry and by taking off the few pounds I have taken off, I am moving better. I survived a "luau" yesterday. In preparation, I ate my Jenny food before I went. They had pina coladas and I chose to drink sparkling water. Fortunately the food included lots of fruit and vegetables. So - I survived! The one thing that I worry about is the candy that my boss keeps on her desk for staff. They all come in looking for it. I don't even LIKE candy, but in a week moment...how do you plan on dealing with the temptation of Halloween candy??
Thanks!

Hi Amandaeb!
I am no expert on this by no means...but I have to ask...Why are you on JC??? Is it for your friends or for YOU??? I think that the best way to tackle your unsupportive friends issue is to remember why you started the program in the first place...thats what I would do. You aren't spending the money on this program to just throw away your goals & progress because unsupportive friends guilted you into induldging. You have a lot to be proud of already it seems (Bar Exam is no small task!) so be true to yourself! If you have to go to lunch then maybe try eating your JC meal before you go and then just snack on something healthy while there (salad maybe). Try to utilize the FREE & LIMITED FOODS during these times too...maybe that'll help.
Believe in yourself...then others will believe in you too. And just learn to put your foot down with these friends...you're going to be a lawyer right...use it! LoL wink.gif
You CAN do this! laugh.gif

Hello!
I'm Kim from sunny Southern California. Started 10/5 weighing 266 pounds headed to my goal weight of 150!!! I'm 51 years young, very happily married and the mother of a wonderful daughter who is a Junior at the University of California - Santa Barbara. I am a realtor and have been managing an office of 100+ realtors for the last 5 1/2 years. My husband was laid off from WAMU almost two years ago and has now retired (he's 17 years older than I am). I have gained 60 pounds over the last 2 years - I am an emotional eater - no surprises there!!!

Someone posted a photo of me on facebook taken 4 weeks ago in Austin, TX. I didn't even recognize myself! When I took the time to really look at it I cried until I made myself sick. In my head and my heart - that's not what I look like! Reality is hard to face and that is what brought me to JC.

I am looking for support and to be supportive. I am here for the long haul - needing to lose 116 pounds.

Had my first weigh in today and lost 7 pounds!

I've read all the posts and you guys seem focused and fun.

Hello Kim!
So happy you are here...I'm a Realtor too! wink.gif I have my lic in NY but just moved to FL a month ago...so I need to go through all the schooling and lic tests again. So I figured FL is a new start for me in many aspects of my life...personl and business.
I totally understand the "crying" at the reality of me thing. But its not just about how you look on the outside but how you feel on the inside too. So for me JC is a rebirth of my physical and mental self.
Glad you're here...this is a great group! Very active and VERY supportive! biggrin.gif
Best of luck to you...you CAN do this!

Thanks!

Marfar...you are going to do great tomorrow. I weigh in tomorrow too...probably not so great :/
But lets compare tomorrow and keep motivated. You are already beating the temptations which is a huge win for you. As far as the Halloween candy temptation...I'm scared myself...it'll be EVERYWHERE! I LOVE candy and Halloween is my favorite holiday. So any ideas from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
Good luck at the WI!

Hey Alyssa,

I have the same problem with not being able to find time with exercise with so much school! I'm just hoping this blog will help motivate me and you as well! Have any good ideas to help fix this problem?

as for everyone else
So far today has been a pretty great day to me, nonstop school and homework- the only break ive taken is to write on this so i wasn't able to exercise sad.gif well im a little scared to weigh in on Thursday, i feel like i should be doing more. but tomorrow i should have more time so wish me luck!

And regarding parties, i just usually eat before i go and make sure i have plenty of water while im there. If i need to have something i try to have as much fruits and vegetables as possible. Thinking about what im going to look like in a couple of months always helps too smile.gif

I TOTALLY agree, and had already been thinking these very same thoughts. I think I'm just a little floored by some reactions I am getting, and I am not about to throw my goals overboard. I guess I am looking for a way to communicate with them as to how important this is to me. I think the reactions I am getting from some of these people are really reflections on the fact that they don't have the courage to make changes in their lives and feel a bit threatened that I do.

On a practical note, I do like the idea of eating first and then gorging on salad. I'll try to pick restaurants with salad bars, so thanks for that idea! My biggest challenge was trying to choose a place to go. Thanks for the encouragement!!! We all can do this!

Welcome to the October group! Congratulations on losing 7 lbs already! I haven't been to my first weigh in, but I've been sticking to the JC plan...that was my first goal. Now I'm trying to find time to fit in the exercise...
I'm interested in ways I can fit in exercise when I have a busy schedule.

How is everyone else fitting in their exercise? Ideas?

Hi October starters,
I'd like to be part of the group. I need support, yesterday I came home from work, 8pm, and ate two rolls with butter, 2 pizza slices, and an ice cream bar. NOT ON THE PLAN!!!!! Well - today's goal is to get through the day on plan. I'll have plenty of fruit available for a sweet snack. Any other suggestions for emotional eaters? I also eat when tired.

Good Morning All! Well I go for my first WI this morning. A little nervous tho, becuase I keep thinking I am going to lose big but I have to stop and remind myself that i just started on Friday so my first week is not a full week. So I will be happy with anything. Yesterday I was POP(Perfect on Program) I struggle with drinking water but on Sunday I drank 79 ounces and yesterday I was over 100 ozs, so that was my first goal was getting water in.

Also headed to the gym today. So hoping for a good day. I am a little sleepy tho, so I am hoping that passes.

Cindy- Welcome to the group. No those are NOT on plan. But its a step telling us that that is what you did, some people would be embarassed and in denial to tell us, think of us as your accountability group. But don't get discouraged. Today is a new day. Each meal for me is a stepping stone. Think of the money you are paying for the program, you want to get something from it right? You also want to do this for YOU right? YOU deserve this. YOU can do it!!! Some people take a picture of themselves in a picture that they really don't like and put that in their kitchen or one of someone they idolize in a bikini so you look at that for support everytime you are going to get somethign to eat. I also talked to someone that everytime she wants to eat something that isn't on program she goes on the site and reads the success stories for motivation!

Hello to everyone else! going for the WI in at 10:30 I will post back in here after that to let eveyone know how I did.

Happy Losing everyone!

Morning to all. rolleyes.gif
I started the program today. So far so good.
Challenges are cooking dinner for the picky husband. He is always supportive but his eating habits have been a contributor to my weight. I just need to get accustomed to cooking alternative meals for him. My JCC told me some clients cook something similar to what is on the menu for the family. Giving that a try. Wish me luck.

I started cooking similar meals for my family about every other night...with me not eating them that means there is an extra serving for the following meal as my husband and girls like left overs smile.gif

I WI this morning on my scale since I am jenny Direct and I dropped 2.6 lbs. What's funny is I'm a little dissappointed LOL. When I started losing weight before the first week was big loss but I was 40lbs heavier. I will look at it positivaly that I did lose and I"m not stuck at 180 any more!!!

Yesterday was soooo hard. Went to a funeral yesterday and they served a meal that didn't include any veggies or fruit except a little found in pasta salads...soooo frustrated!!!! I was hoping that since it was an afternoon funeral there would be no food because then my family would eat out on the way home and I would have better choices...of course my family pigged out...Hubby is 135 lbs and can eat ANYTHING...So how did I handle it? I focused on feeding the kids LOL. I ate about 3 forks of BBQ pork and that was about it. Luckily we hooked up with other family members in town and we did end up going out to eat. I had my fav rasberry chipotle chicken which usually come with 2 chicken breast...gave one to my mother in law...and I got a salad instead of fries (I didn't even eat one fry and that is my weakness!!!!) And I didn't eat the bread it came with. I was so proud of myself!!!!!

Hello Halloweenies!!! I started yesterday (10/12), I'm also from NY (Upstate), I weighed in at 208 lbs....my ultimate goal is to weigh 150 but for right now my goal is 170. A couple of years ago I did weight watchers, weighed in at 200 and got down to 170...gained that back and I'd love to be able to fit into those clothes again.

I'm married with 2 boys (ages 18 and 16) so needless to say with school, sports and work we're always on the go.

Good luck to everyone!!!

Just got back from my WI. With my short week(4 days) I was down 1.6, so I will take that. Also went to the gym for an hour this morning and had a WONDERFUL workout with my trainer, I felt like it was a last chance workout on the Biggest Loser.

smw0621- Welcome to the group. You will fit into the clothes before you know it! Best of Luck to you!!

cougrl- Good luck on not having the French Fries. Its Baby steps!!! I was in the bathroom of my JC center this morning and it had something on the wall, I don't remember the exact saying but it was something like Each meal on the program is a win, and that is so true!!

CAWags- Welcome on board. This is a great group, check in with us often.

Well I am off to shower, felt bad for my JCC she had to see me right after the gym. Have a good one everyone!

KJZ:

What a great loss!! I learned while doing WW that sometimes a work out right before weigh in can effect the scale. If you do weight training, it can make your loss look smaller or make you look like you gain, bc water is held in your muscles or something lol. And if you do a heavy cardio, it can make you seem to have lost more. I learned that after a few erratic weigh ins that followed my gym time. So id you start to notice weird wi, that might be the cause. Just my 2 cents;)
