I am a new mom with an 8 week old. I just started back on Jenny Craig (my last weigh in was in June 2008) prior to my pregnancy. I'm starting week 3 of the diet and have lost 6.8 pounds the first 2 weeks. I'm getting back into the groove of dieting again. I find it hard to get all my food in during the day. There are many times that I find that I have not eaten a meal because I'm taking care of the baby. And getting activities in is a bigger challenge.
Any other new moms out there that have any good ideas?

I too have an 8week old, so I know what you're going through. Baby #2 and busier than ever

I am also finding it difficult to squeeze activity into my schedule. Instead of "going" for my usual walk - packing up and driving to a location - I have just been throwing the kids in the stroller/sling and walking around my neighborhood. I also do squats and lunges while I'm loading/unloading washer...I feel silly but at least I'm moving. Last night when my husband got home, I basically handed him the baby, got my 2 yr old in the highchair and just ran out of the house for a glorious walk all BY MYSELF

...it's going to take my husband some time to adjust to me leaving the minute he gets home but I told him that I need some time to myself. That's the best advice I've learned from 2 kids -
don't forget to take time for yourself....sometimes you just need to put the baby in the swing or the bouncy chair and take a few minutes to get your meal in, take a shower or do some floor exercises. It'll get better once the baby sleeps longer and you get a full night's rest!

Hi ladies!
My little one will be 10 weeks tomorrow. First baby and boy, is it ever a big change of lifestyle. It is getting better, though. The first few weeks were absolute ****, to be honest, because I was terrified every time the baby cried. Now I am learning to discern which cries mean "I need attention RIGHT NOW" and which ones mean I can take a minute and go to the bathroom first or something like that. I know what you mean about getting exercise in. I try and take a stroller walk with my son every day for 30 minutes but he cries in the stroller unless we are going over cracks or gravel and it's jarring the heck out of him. At least it is good exercise, but its exhausting when you are already so tired.
I am also new to the program. Today is my third day on and so far I really like it. There's only been like two meals that I haven't cared for. The rest were great. Anyhow, don't want to babble on, but just wanted to say hi!

Hi all. I started when my baby was 6 weeks. He's now exactly 4 months today and I'm happy to say I can wear all of my prepregnancy clothes...even my skinniest jeans! (I'm 4 lbs from goal)
A couple things that worked for me:
I tried to order more 'portable' Jenny foods, like the stuffed sandwiches, that were easier to eat on the go when baby called.
Preportioning snacks (putting rice cakes with pre-measured peanut butter in a baggie, cutting up fruit, etc) also made grab-n-go more convenient. I asked my husband to wake up a little early for work so I could have a little time to plan for my day and he had father-son playtime.
I switched lunches with dinners so I could have a lighter meal at night which made it easier to squeeze in whatever snacks I had left.
The baby bjorn was (and still is) my best friend. Walking with baby on the treadmill was a great workout for me, and was the one thing that helped him nap when he was colicky. The longer I worked out, the longer he rested! Plus I could justify using treadmill time to catch up on my bad reality tv.
Best of luck to you!

My son is going to be 5 months on friday and I've been on JC for 3 weeks as well. I'm finding it hard to get all my food in also. I am a returning client and I can tell you, when you skip meals or veggies and fruits it really slows down weight loss which can be disappointing. So I'm trying my best to make sure I eat, but I also have a hard time remembering to eat, this baby brain is not going away and I sometimes have to go through my menu to make sure I ate everything. Once I went to bed starving then I found out the next day I hadn't eaten my snack, I was so mad lol. I also want to lose pre-preganancy weight so I'm in this for the long-haul.

Hi Everyone!
I too just had my second baby about two weeks ago and I am thinking about joining Jenny. I did Jenny after my first pregnancy but waited until the baby was a year old. I wanted to start again when this one is about 6 weeks old, but I do have a question. I am nursing and was wondering if it is safe to do the program while nursing? I know that they will increase your calories because you are nursing, but they seem really high. Do you think it is safe to follow around a 1800 calorie program?
Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I am a mom of 4. My oldest is 6, followed by 4, 2, and a 3 month old. I just joined on Mon. and started my food yesterday. I am also finding it hard to remember to get all of the food in. I want to lose 30lbs. I'm also trying to make sure I take time for me each day to get in some exercise. I have a sitter come in so I can get to the gym so hopefully that will work.
Good luck to all

I am new to the program (as of Nov 4th). I am still breastfeeding my 10 month old. Everything I read in my earlier days said that for someone who is breastfeeding, needs to eat an additional 500 calaries on top of a normal 1200 calorie diet. This is from several sources. I would consult your doctor to confirm, but I believe it is safe. I would stay away from any suppliments offered. Only eat the food and follow the schedule. Don't forget to keep taking your prenatal vitamin while breastfeeding! I hope this helps?

I would make my meal times special. When the baby went down to nap, I sat down, enjoyed my meal by myself and often would watch a favorite tv show. Then, I looked forward to my "me" time with meals.
I also use the stroller a lot. It feels good to get fresh air and my baby has always loved it, too.

Congrats on your weight loss to date! It is nice to know that it can be done with a little one at home!
Today is day 1 of the program for me. I have a 2 year old and a 9 week old. (Any suggestions that everyone has for following the program while meeting the needs of 2 little ones is appreciated!) I finally just got to the point where I didn't want to be that fat lady with the two cute kids anymore. And quite frankly it was time for a maternity clothes intervention.... they need to go and I need to get back into my old clothes and then work towards getting into an even smaller size!
I loook forward to staying in touch with all the new mommies during this process.
