Hi all, good luck on your journey! I wanted to feel better physically, fit into size 10 jeans and be able to walk without waddling, Yeah! I did it and you can too. Age is a matter of personal perception.
One trick I used was visualizing myself thinner, that was part of my personal battle. Got rid of the "take away my blubber and u take away my protective armor". Well instead I imagined myself leaner and healthier, more fit to cope with life's roller coaster ride. You may think the thought is way out there but it worked for me. Look at the reason why you accept the excess body baggage, if you are honestly comfortable with the way you feel. If you are not happy with who you are, do something about it. You can you know, age had nothing to do with it, each day is a chance for a new you. Consider it not as being a diet but a life style change.
I changed to JC food, I started with frozen because for me it was tastier and more satisfying, then I showly changed to shelf, less costly and my body had adjusted to smaller volumes of food (eat a lot of free vegetables and the low sodium store soup and jello)it was costly at first but then got cheaper for me. Now that i am at my goal weight I cheat, but i am more disciplined as to portion size, even better I have learned how to shop at the supermarket and prepare some of my own meals although the majority of food i eat still is and will be JC.
Any support needed, I will be happy to chat with you!
