I am having the Fish and Chips for dinner tonight. I have put them off until the last day of my menu because I am afraid they are going to be awfull! Does anyone have any tips to ensure that they will be edible? I generally like fish, just not usually breaded and frozen. Any and all suggestions will be deeply appriciated!

I hated these when I first tried them..but then I was heating them in the microwave. Then I decided to try again and did them in the oven/toaster oven and OMG YUM!!!! I love them now! I usually get them about once a week. You can make it as crispy or non crispy as you want. SOOOO GOOD!!!
Plus I love this meal because I absolutely LOVE ketchup so I can use lots for this meal if I want

Enjoy!!!

Yeah! Thanks for the speedy response. I will definately take the time to cook them the old fashioned way.
Thanks,

I don't have a toaster oven so I microwave for a couple of minutes, then spray a non stick pan with "Pam" and kind of saute the fish and chips until browned, sprinkle with the vinegar and enjoy with ketchup, I enjoy them for a change but not every week. The fish is pleasant - not strong at all!

This is one of my favorites! I'm not a huge fish fan, but it's yummy and I love being able to have fries and ketchup.

I love the fish and chips but only if baked extra cripsy with paprika and lots of pepper. Make sure to get the fries real crispy too. Then I add a little horseradish to my ketchup for extra flavor. I find that if I use my cast iron skillet in the oven to bake this I can really get it extra crispy.

I too love the Fish and Chips. I however put the fish and chips on a cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray, so they don't stick and put them in the oven. They taste soo good this way. The first time I tried it and I did it in the microwave, but I didn't like it because it was soggie. Then I tried it in the oven in the container that it comes in and it still didn't turn out, so I put them on a cookie sheet and it works great!

Another tip, I put mine in a large lettuce leaf, (butter lettuce) with some fresh shredded cabbage like a burrito. I also cut up the fish a bit, and added some fresh green onions cut up and some tomatoes diced on top. Then I drizzled the vinager over it all before I wrapped it up..It made a couple of the "fish burritos, so it was really filling. Annr

This is my favorite meal of all! I just nuke it for 3:30 then transfer the fish to a baking sheet and broil for a couple of minutes on each side. Makes it VERY crunchy!! I mix a little ketchup with a little light mayo for a dipping sauce. YUMMY!!!

I stopped eating tarter sauce because of the fish and chips dinner. I really like the malt vinegar.

Thank you all for the great ideas for the fish and chips. I have tried it twice adding ketchup which helps but these changes will make it much tastier!!! I am very excited to try them out!!!!

The other night I decided to make a fish sandwich out of it, using the sandwich thins it added 1 starch to my day, and I made own tarter sauce so 1 fat, I added letuce and it was a refreshing change.

These have always been one of my favorites...cooked in the oven, of course.
