Week 1 returning and I am looking for buddies that want to do this journey with someone else. I am returning, but super motivated this time and would love the support of other members. I even started exercising again! My dogs and I are on a diet. Looking forward to sharing.

I too began this journey yesterday!
I know the program works because I've done it successfully - but kind of lost control in the past few years.
As the years have ticked by - so the pounds have crept up. Making unhealthy decisions and not exercising- it all catches up to you!
Those days are over and I am looking forward to once again looking good, being healthy, and being active and most important being in control of my life!
I live in South Florida and would love to have the support from people that are going through what I am gong through!
My goal weight is 140
Current weight is 181.5 (Ugh!)
Halfway 161
I am going to use my halfway weight as my first goal because it seems a little easier to swallow!
Good luck

Petunia and Twinbug,
I also started yesterday after being absent for 12 years. I am totally excited!
I would love to 'buddy' up, as I need the encouragement. I usually do fine for the first two weeks, and then I lose the motivation when I don't see progress. This time around, I am trying to be realistic. I am aiming for 8 lbs. in four weeks, which should be doable. Then I'll go from there.
I am in San Francisco, by the way.

I joined the movement today. I also am a returning client-first time I lost 60 lbs but over the 10 years away have put it all back plus more. I am now at 212 and hoping to reach 160 which was where I was the last time when I quit. A lot has happened over the years and I look forward to joining the returning members. We will all need support as we embrace the changes in our selves and our images of ourselves.
Would it be possible to join all of you returning members and support each other as we reach our goals. My half way point is 181. I am fearful, enthusiastic, excited and ashamed all in one. It will be difficult to sort those feelings out as I loose weight and become confident in myself.
I hope to hear from each one of you as we progress through this journey. I look forward to our chats.

Hello everyone! I am excited for my new buddies!
We all will get thru week 1 and move to week 2. Let me know how your week 1 went. I just went thru my week 1 very successfully. Lost 4.4 pounds WOOHOO!!!
I had health issues and gained weight because of what sounds like similar reasons that all of you stated. J am motivated to start week 2 and am feeling good. I notice have to eat every 2 hours or so and I find it easy with the program to eat the food at work. So far so good. I am struggling with the working out though. Did work out 2 days the week by walking my dogs. I am also taking stairs at work. Have noticed more tired than usual, but figure my body is going thru an adjustment.
Like my consultant Stephanie. Will keep posted. Keep your chin up and good luck everyone!

Petunia,
CONGRATS! 4.4 lbs. is awesome!
I weight in next Monday. Today was my second day and it was easier than yesterday. I went to the grocery store and bought missing items-- I had no fruits and vegetables in the fridge! I didn't have any nonfat yogurt, almonds, or cottage cheese either. So I purchased all those for the week.
Anyway, I'll keep checking back on this thread daily to hear how others are doing to keep me motivated...

Hi everyone!
I think its great that we will support and encourage each other!
Cheryl and Sweetmomma - we will do this!
tdpetunia - 4.4 lbs gone - you go girl!
I hope I have a week like that!
I am enjoying the food - actually I always have. I am not muck of a cooker normally so
this food is definitely better than mac n cheese and hamburger helper.
I am having a HUGE problem with the amytime bars. I can not even swallow them and I assure
you normally I am not a picky eater - hence the extra 40 lbs

! Anyone having that problem?
I of course don't weigh in until next Wednesday but I feel confident this is going to work.
Keep me posted on your progress!

hi everyone! i also started this past week (9/21), and day by day i am getting through. i was on this program about 12 years ago, lost almost 50 pounds, kept it off for a while, and then gained it all back plus. very depressing, but here i am ... doing something about it. i need the help and structure that this can offer. i'm anxious though - now i have a husband and a child, so not sure how the family meals will play out. i have to keep telling myself 'it's NOT ok to just have a bite ...' and then just take it day by day. so far, ive been able to get through the days on plan!
good luck to all!

Hi, Ayam! We have a lot in common (also started 12 years ago, rejoined after gaining 20+ back).
I also have a husband and child and they are on their own... just kidding.
My challenge is not tasting what I prepare for them... I confess, I sneak in a few bites here and there.
Good luck to you-- and your family!

I have no buddies yet either. I just started on Thursday. Today is my first day online.
I started at 180, my goal weight is 135. I think I've lost 2 lbs already, but I'm trying not to get on the scale too much. Weigh in on Thursday.
So, I'm looking for feedback on food....I love the french toast and the chicken fajitas...anybody else have favorites.
Please add me as your buddy if you want to go thru this with me!!

I weighed in today and lost only 0.6 pounds! Boohoo... but I was told since I was breastfeeding that I should only be losing between 0.5 and 1 pound per week. Still, I was secretly hoping I'd lose 1.4 pounds.
And guess what. I am having my wisdom tooth removed tomorrow so I'm "off" from Jenny for two weeks! I'll probably lose some weight since I have to be on a liquid diet.

Hello everyone!
Okay week # 2 weigh in didn't go as I wanted it to go...a little disappointed. But it's progress another step in the right direction. I'm sticking with the plan...My motivation is I was blessed enough to be able to buy the Jenny food therefore, I'd better make it work...No cheating, Beverly!
Thanks for your words of power Ayam, "It's not okay to take a little bite" That is good. I will use that.
I started back after a year on 9/15 my first week I lost 6.4 pounds. I'm sure it was mostly water. I retain an obscene amount of water. So week 2 weigh in was only .20. I worked so hard too. Not sure what happened there. My husband "killed" me at the gym this weekend LOL.
I guess I shouldn't have been looking for a larger number considering last week. I look forward to next week. I am hoping for 2 pounds.
Here are some tricks I am using...If I am hungry and tempted to eat I will brush my teeth. Nothing tastes the same right after you have brushed your teeth. I may even apply a fresh coat of top coat to my nails or paint them all together. That will keep me from reaching for no no's for a long while.
Take care everyone, great job today!!!

i weighed in today and was down 3.5 pounds. considering what i ate for yom kippur break-fast and the night before ... this loss made me happy.
but - BEVERLY and SWEET MOMMA -- no loss is insignificant. seriously. moving in the right direction gets you to the goal. little by little, the camel goes into the pot! now remind me of this, too!
for me, i have to do this from meal to meal (and snack to snack), one day at a time. i have to make sure i pack well for work -- my fruit, my salad, yogurt, and my JC meal (which i take out of the box before i go because i don't want all my colleagues to know that i'm on this).
i have a challenge this week that i forgot to discuss with my consultant. saturday is my daughters 2nd bday party, which we are having pizza and cupcakes. i'll make a salad too (party will be mostly grown-ups). can i just eat salad and not pizza? WILL i do that? probably not, but i can try. in the event that i have pizza, anyone have suggestions on how to handle the food for the rest of the day so as not to completely blow it????
thanks!

Hello all!
I am glad to hear the everyone is progressing!
I weigh in tonight - I am really anxious because my scale shows some loss but you never know until you get there!
Ayam - Sometimes you need to consider what you want in life. AS far as your daughters 2nd birthday - I am not sure that if you want to go off plan you want to do it for pizza! By the time that you are done with it will you regret it? But if you want to share with your friends and pizza is what it is - eat it! Then move forward. Replace yourt dinner with the pizza and go for an extra walk on Sunday. Your daughters birthday is important and special - don't fret over the food!
Beverly - 6.6 pounds in 2 weeks is exceptional! Congrats - even though you are a little disappointed with this weeks WI - It will all even out in the end!
Jfoot and Lisa and Cheryl welcome!
Michele - are stats are almost the same! Let's help each other get there!
Kristi - congrats on your loss!
Sweetmomma - I had my wisdom teeth removed and was told to only have liquids so you shoould be in good shape with that - but make sure you opt for lo cal stuff. It is pretty easy to load up on calories if your not careful. Good lock with the surgery - I'll be thinking of you!
I think we do need to come up with a name for our group.

I have been starting Jenny many times the last year. I need motivation to start and stick to it. I don't know what clicked in my head 2 years ago to stick to a "diet". I did it w/ a friend and we met at the gym every weekday at 5am and did Jenny together. She lost of 65 lbs too! I have decided to train for a marathon in June 2010, so it will help my running to lose 20! I need structure and Jenny has that... too easy for me to cheat on WW! So I am going to look at my calendar and start this week. Send me motivation!

Hello everyone!
ayam, would you be able to have the rising crust pizza from Jenny at your daughters birthday party? If it is lunch time then maybe the personal pizza or pesto pizza...this way you don't get off the plan and you are still having pizza.
If you want to have the same pizza as everyone else "yumm" I believe you can have 2 slices and not do any harm calorie wise. This is what my consultant told me last year when I went to a pizza party. She told me to drink more water that day. Check in with your consultant if you haven't all ready. "got to go at work...have a great week.

Yhanks for the reply, Beverly. I don't think I could do the JC pizza -- I don't want to have to answer questions, you know? but i am (at least right now) feeling strong about the whole thing. so i'm gearing up to eat salad and fruit. It's so ridiculous!!!! why is it such a big deal? it's only food, right? i mean - it ("the pizza" or "food") will be there again ... it isn't like i won't EVER be able to have a slice again. why does it become such a big huge frickin' deal? it's ONLY food.
OK, I'm done. i don't even @#$%ing want the @#$%ing pizza anymore! thanks everyone!

Hi, BLK
Which marathon are you wanting to train for?
I know you are in the East Coast, and I'm out in the West Coast, but we can support each other thru the marathon training.
I've done two marathons (New Orleans and Disneyworld) before but that was awhile back in 2004 and 2005 when I was on a healthy eating and exercise streak. Now the only exercise I get is exercising my fingers on my tv remote.
I'd like to get off the couch and back into running but have no willpower whatsoever. I definitely need a buddy.
Tell me what your running plan is and maybe we can help each other stick to a schedule.

Hi everybody -
I had my week 2 weigh-in and lost 1.4 pounds. A major victory since I was out of town all weekend. I managed to stay OP with breakfasts, lunches and snacks, then did my best to make wise choices at dinner. So far so good this week. My hubby and I celebrated out 7th anniversary Tuesday and we went out to an awesome place to eat. I did fine considering what I would have eaten if I hadn't been doing Jenny. I only ate 1/2 my steak (8 oz. filet) and ate lots of veggies, then we split our dessert. Next day I was back OP and haven't strayed. I'm really trying to stay off the scale because I tend to get discouraged by that stupid number. I know I'm already feeling better! My WI is on Monday, so we'll see..... I'm loving my JCC because she's really helping me get out of that being perfect mindset. It's great to read what you all have to say, too. I keep reminding myself that I'm not the only one trying to do this, so it's nice to have others to lean on and vent to!

Hi everyone!!

I am back on here after a hiatus of about 5 months and ready to lose more weight again. I have kept some of it off but I have a new goal and I'm trying hard to get it done once and for all.
I was always slim as a kid growing up and through highschool and even the first part of college but after about age 21 I started slowly gaining weight so I'm trying to go back down now.
God Bless everyone and let's all be a source of comfort for each other! Nice meeting all of you on here!!

SW (before Jenny): 202.5 lbs
SW for Jenny, Oct. 2008: 193 lbs
last weigh in for Jenny 5 months ago, May 2009: 177.8 lbs
first weigh in for Jenny back on the program, Sep. 22: 183 lbs
CW: 177.8 lbs ( eerie how I went back down to weight before I left Jenny just in one week of re-joining the program!)
1st goal weight: 155 lbs.
Ultimate goal weight: 145 lbs
Half-Way: 170.5 lbs

Glad to hear that the small changes are bringing big results. It's inspirational and brings hope back.
Watched the touchstones dvd and have my stones in a pretty bag that I will bring with me EVERYWHERE I go.
Today I purpose to be mindful to plant only positive thought and word seeds today because what I plant today I will harvest tomorrow.
Today I purpose to listen to my 10 year old junk food binger from a compassionate observer point of view so I can give her what she really needs which is some loving attention.
I deserve to exercise and eat healthy because I am worthy of the outcome it will bring. (That one still shakes me a bit).
Grats to all the brave people who love themselves and others enough to heal.

Hi, anyone interested in meeting up in the Chat Room? Maybe we could all decide on a day and time? I have checked the chat room and it's usually empty, but it would be a great tool to use. That way, we could all talk to each other live.
Unfortunately, in my household, I eat my meals alone since my husband works late. So, I'm usually on the computer while I am eating my dinner. So, I'm on my computer a lot! Anyway, the point is, I am available to chat anytime!
JC is really forcing me (a good thing) to eat more veggies. Today, I had spaghetti squash for the first time. I prepared it like the instructions told me to (microwave for 12 minutes). Midway through, the squash exploded in the microwave. The blast knocked open the microwave door! I thought I had destroyed my microwave...lol.
JC has also inspired me to take out my blender and blend up my fruits into smoothies. Now that I do it myself, it's ridiculous to think of how much money I used to spend on Jamba Juice, or smoothies at the mall.
I never ever used to cook (which is a reason why I love JC-- so convenient), but I am thinking ahead on how to prepare healthier meals. I think I'm going to have to find my Crock Pot next...
Love to you all.

Girl you are too funny! I'm in. What time is good for you to chat? Work is winding down for me so I am available after 2pm for sure everyday. I am presently using my crock pot to make soap for christmas gift baskets.

Hi everyone, well its a chilly rainy Friday evening here in Chicago. I am rounding down week 3 and didn't do so good. I ate off the plan 2 times. Not sure how the scale is going to look this week. I will hit the gym this weekend to make sure I take care of my body...it needs lovin too. LOL
I tried the new wok style beef and it was delish. I really miss the cajun chicken sausage and rice though. That was my fav...What are some ways you have "spiced" up your Jenny food? I am enjoying my veggies at dinner time. I use a little bit of olive oil and throw some mushrooms, broccoli, onion, tomato, garlic and lemon juice together in a pan then once they get warm I top it with fresh spinach. It is really tasty.
Always looking for great veggie ideas that are healthy.
Have a great focused weekend everyone.

Week 1 returning and I am looking for buddies that want to do this journey with someone else. I am returning, but super motivated this time and would love the support of other members. I even started exercising again! My dogs and I are on a diet. Looking forward to sharing.
Wonder if you got any replies? I need motivation and competition usually helps both parties. How are you doing?

Unbelievable. I am so incredibly proud of all you ladies who have taken on this challenge of loosing this extra part of us, know as weight!!!
I did a really great thing last nite. I had dinner at the Wildfire Restaurant with my dear girlfriends and drank Diet Coke and talked with wonderful friends for over 3 hours and did not eat at the restaurant because I am on a Mission to beat this weight thing. If you are ever in Chicago, Wildfire Restaurant, is very well known and very good. What was really different for me was enjoying the aroma of the food in the restaurant. I have spent so much of my time consuming food to get that full feeling, I missed the aroma which for my senses was really enjoyable.
That was kind of a new experience for me. I had eaten my Jenny food ahead of time and this was really a new experience from difference senses.
I know it sounds weird, but I enjoyed it. It reminds me of when I quit smoking years ago and I could smell again.
Let me know I am not alone in this experience, I feel different about this.
I am proud and keep going ladies. I have to admit that I am blessed that you have all joined this group. Petunia's Buddies are pretty amazing. Make me proud girls.
Get stronger and get healthier. Looks are like icing on the cake! TTFN (TaTaForNow).

I got my computer working again. Motivation comes from within, but competition I can take on. I did the Honolulu Marathon for Aids back in 2001. I challenge ladies to try this. I have raised some money over the years for Aids and Leukemia. What a wonderful high. I WALKED marathons, did not run. But I finished Honolulu. All my life I wanted to do a marathon, I was turning 50, I figured why not do the it in Hawaii. So Aids Marathon of Chicago offered to pay my way to Honolulu if I raised $5000 to help this organization. Not only did I raise the money, but I finished the marathon. Since then I have done 2 other 1/2 marathons. I walk and am amazed of myself that I have that. I love Nashville marathon, lots of hills.
What I learned from that challenge is:, "I can do hard things." Can't we all say that in our lives, "We can do hard things." I know you ladies know you can equate your life and the hard things that you do to this weight things. I ask myself why is there a difference, there really isn't.
We do hard things every day. WE CAN DO THIS.....!!!

Hi Everyone!
I am so happy to stumble across this thread!! I am starting my return voyage today!!! Just had my first JC breakfast and gearing up to really work at it. I lost about 16 lbs last winter and have put most of it back on...but I never reached my goal weight. I am now at 170....want to get to 140. It's a long way, but I am going to start with small incremental goals. the first one is to lose 5 lbs. I am targetting that loss over the next 3 weeks, in order to give myself permission to lose it at a healthy pace and not regain it.
I'll be checking in on a regular basis for support that goes both ways. I know how wonderful it felt to be in control of my emotional eating patterns....looking to get there again.
Cheers,
S in VT

Congratulations S in VT! We all know what to do and are here to support ourselves and each other while doing it. What works for you support wise? For example;I am participating in a walk challenge for October which holds me accountable to other people which helps me. Plus I like comptetition lol...the one thing I have done differently is this time I am listening to and applying the "touchstones" cd and dvd which I found to be pivotal.
How can we support your journey?
Today I purpose to choose to keep my word to myself regarding my health and wellbeing by doing what I know to do as a privledge not a burden.
