Hi!

I am restarting the program on Friday. I filled out my menu and when i got to the lunch items i didn't want any of it. I haven't been on the program in a year and I remember not being happy with the choices.

I love the breakfast and dinner but no so happy with the lunch.

What do you like for lunch?

Thanks!
Lawmom
I think lunch is a lot of people's least favorite meal (mine included).

As for the best of the worst, I like the turkey burger. I add lettuce, tomato and a dab of ff may. I also like the potato but use a little ff sour cream. My favorite is the chicken pocket sandwhich (since it's a grab and go thing). I also eat the panini's (but have to toast them). I avoid all of the shelf stable foods and the soups.

It really is a matter of personal taste so try the stuff you are unfamiliar with.

Good Luck.

I have about a week's worth of favorites that I get over and over.

> Enchiladas... maybe not what you're expecting in an enchilada, but I like them
> Chicken stuffed sandwich
> Meatball stuffed sandwich
> Broccoli cheese baked potato
> Turkey burger
> Swedish meatballs... really good with a little ff sour cream or a spoonful of cottage cheese stirred in
> Rotini with meatballs

I always have a huge serving of steamed green beans with lunch and find it all quite satisfying. I don't think I'd be as happy if I didn't volumize it. I love the feeling of not being overstuffed after lunch though.

I don't do any of the shelf-stable foods and I eat lunch at work, so I don't have the ability to dress anything up a lot.

I find that I really like the turkey burger, the stuffed sandwiches, and the pizzas (although it sometimes seems like I am the only one on these boards who likes those! laugh.gif ). I always have a big salad with my lunch as well, and I am quite happy with this - better than the lunches I was having before JC!

Take the turkey burger, and thaw it in the microwave, and then "crisp" it up on a George Foreman grill... to die for..

I'm rather new to the program, but my favorite is most definitely the Salad Kits. I really love both of them as an on-the-go lunch.

I also do like the turkey burger which I think was mentioned in a previous post.

I like the pizzas as well, but I'll have to admit--before JC, frozen pizzas were a guilty pleasure for me, so it's kind of like having my old "bad for me" pizzas. smile.gif smile.gif

Yeah, lunches aren't my fav from the program but I like the turkey burger (with lettuce and tomatoes, I also put peppers and mushrooms)

I like the potato but I get hungry faster when I get this one, I think it will be great with a bit of sour cream.

The chicken stuffed Sandwich its yummy smile.gif

I don't like the pizzas for lunch but the rising crust pizza (for dinner) its really good.

good luck!!

Love the pesto pizza when cooked in the oven. Love the sw chicken and rice or chicken burrito, chopped up over a salad with salsa.

All of the other lunches taste pretty good to me. Love the sald kits for travel.

The only thing I find a bit challenging is the chicken sandwich- the texture is strange to me. Some people volumize it by chopping it up in a salad and toasting the bread for croutons.

I go to subway get a turkey sub (small one) with tons of veggies, no mayo, mustard and NO CHEESE. Its way better than Jenny's lunches...and cheaper.

I quite like:

Beef Chow Mein -- serve this over extra cabbage (like a coleslaw mix!) or steamed green beans
Broccoli & Cheese Potato -- with extra broccoli, or 1/4 cup of tuna as a meat serving.
Turkey Burger
Chicken Noodle Soup -- I add a little bit of salt or boulion powder and some herbs. It's nice.
LOVE the turkey cranberry salad that comes out in November, I will stock up.

I can tolerate:

Cheesy Enchilada (it's okay, but I wouldn't want it frequently)
Personal Pizza
Southwestern Chicken Burrito (I like the flavour but find it a bit dry)
Southwestern Chicken with Rice
Chicken Sandwich

i just tried the chicken corn chowder, and although half of it exploded in microwave, I liked it and it may be a new favorite, I saw an idea to add salsa, and think it is just the twist it needs.

the chicken stuff sandwich reminds me of a pot pie so I like that

Turkey burger always a fav.

oh beef chow mein definately I add sugar snap peas or broccoli yumm

I like more dinners than lunchs.

This happened with mine too, right before it tipped over in the microwave... beware.

I didnt care for it though, so needless to say, I wont be having the problem in the future.

I'm only on week 2 back, but so far I like:

Cheesy enchiladas
Corn and Chicken chowder (mine literally jumped around in the microwave too)
Beef chow mein- super yummy
Broccoli Cheese potato (I thought i would hate this one looking at the picture, but it was yum)

Yeah, lunches definitely have my least favorites. At work, I usually eat the rotini and meatballs. At home I eat the Personal Pizza, but I ALWAYS add spices and a little extra ff cheese and put it in the oven.

The paninis would be awesome if the meat texture was changed. Both the turkey and the bbq are so mushy that I almost gag. blink.gif

I actually enjoy the pizza. I saute some mushrooms and add them before I put the pizza in the oven. I wrap the pizza with foil and cook it that way. Since the pizza is so dry the mushrooms add a little moisture and really helps the taste. I also will save the pizza to eat when my family is having pizza so I don't get tempted with their pizza. As for the paninis , I toast them open face and eat them with banana peppers and mustard. The texture of the meat isn't quite so bad this way.
