I'm in Abilene, Texas and have been on Jenny for 2 weeks now. I have atleast 100lb to lose. I love to ride horses but saw pictures of myself and cried. I've got a good start but could really use someone to comumicate with who knows what I'm feeling.

Thanks
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer!

I understand what you mean about seeing pictures of yourself. I was an actress and used to love having photos made but that changed over the years! It came to the point I would cringe seeing pictures of myself - fat face, drooping neck and plenty of rolls around my middle.

I am in Dallas, been with JC now for 12 weeks. It's amazing the changes in me in just three months! starting weight of 220 to goal weight 150, my current weight is 200, and I've lost 18.5 inches. I started out size 22W and 20W and bought a new outfit size 16 last weekend!

The most important things for me have been:
Planning my food including vegetables and snacks so I have what I want when I need it
(just me at home, so cleared out all dangerous food)
Writing down what goes in my mouth - no lying to myself
Drinking lots of water
getting exercise

I didn't do much exercise but walk a little and very short bike rides the first month (have a bike with a really good wide seat)
The second month I joined a yoga studio and go for 90 minute hot yoga class 2-3 and sometimes 4 times a week.
I began getting up from my desk and walking in my office building a few times during the day.
Recently make a commitment to myself to take the stairs rather than the elevator.
Then got some 5 lb weights to start tightening up the flab on my arms!

The goal for me is to sustain my activity level best I can by adding more things I like to do. Got a dance crunch DVD that's fun, and sometimes walk in different parks with one of my sisters who enjoys that - we can do 5 miles at a time now!

It's not nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be and it's very gratifying to see change, even if it's just a lb or so a week, the numbers are going DOWN.

YOU can do it too. Find an active thread on the forum and read and post to it. That helps too!

Hi Jennifer....I'm from San Antonio. Today is my first day back on program. I've been a lifetime member of Jenny Craig for over 15 years. Years ago they offered a once a week class at the center ....I loved the classroom support. Now I get the great support from my Jenny Counselor. This is the first time I have ever chatted in my life...at 48. I believe the support of friends and family makes all the difference in our progress. I'm determined to lose 30lbs this time.....my clothes are so tight, its depressing and I'm not going to buy a new wardrobe size up, ugh. I'd like to support you in your journey, tell me more about yourself. How are you doing so far? Who's support do you have at home? I remember that feeling after two weeks, it's like entering a tunnel and from a distance you can see the light, you are on your way! Carol

Hi, I am in Irving, TX. Just finished my 3rd week on the program. I have lost 9.8 in three weeks. But in my own defense, in July I start trying again to lose weight and since July(including the last three weeks with JC) I have dropped 20 pounds. I too, would like to find a buddie close to me. I like the program for the most part and the food is very good. I have not started excersing yet...I hate the E word...smile.gif
I know I have got to start......The key for me is being prepared with fruits and fresh veggies....I would love for once to see this all the way to goal.

Hi Carol,

I am in San Antonio too. I joined about 11 years ago and got to goal back then but I didn't do any follow up. I am at the halfway point and I really like the help I get from my consultant now that I am doing some meals on my own. Last time I went from all Jenny meals to on my own with a short class on portion and I didn't do well. I am still a little nervous about doing my own meal planning but I plan to stay connected and not backslide. I have lost 35 pounds so far and fell better than I have in years.
