I'm in Abilene, Texas and have been on Jenny for 2 weeks now. I have atleast 100lb to lose. I love to ride horses but saw pictures of myself and cried. I've got a good start but could really use someone to comumicate with who knows what I'm feeling.
Thanks
Jennifer
Hi Jennifer!
I understand what you mean about seeing pictures of yourself. I was an actress and used to love having photos made but that changed over the years! It came to the point I would cringe seeing pictures of myself - fat face, drooping neck and plenty of rolls around my middle.
I am in Dallas, been with JC now for 12 weeks. It's amazing the changes in me in just three months! starting weight of 220 to goal weight 150, my current weight is 200, and I've lost 18.5 inches. I started out size 22W and 20W and bought a new outfit size 16 last weekend!
The most important things for me have been:
Planning my food including vegetables and snacks so I have what I want when I need it
(just me at home, so cleared out all dangerous food)
Writing down what goes in my mouth - no lying to myself
Drinking lots of water
getting exercise
I didn't do much exercise but walk a little and very short bike rides the first month (have a bike with a really good wide seat)
The second month I joined a yoga studio and go for 90 minute hot yoga class 2-3 and sometimes 4 times a week.
I began getting up from my desk and walking in my office building a few times during the day.
Recently make a commitment to myself to take the stairs rather than the elevator.
Then got some 5 lb weights to start tightening up the flab on my arms!
The goal for me is to sustain my activity level best I can by adding more things I like to do. Got a dance crunch DVD that's fun, and sometimes walk in different parks with one of my sisters who enjoys that - we can do 5 miles at a time now!
It's not nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be and it's very gratifying to see change, even if it's just a lb or so a week, the numbers are going DOWN.
YOU can do it too. Find an active thread on the forum and read and post to it. That helps too!
