I recently bought a laptop with Vista 64 and it does not allow me to use Java. Is there an alternative to Java that I can download so I can get on chat from my laptop?

Unfortunately the Chat room is using a Java based application so you will need to use Java. It looks like there is a version able for 64bit. Click here for more information. You could try this (at your own risk).
