Full Version: Hi there from the newbie
Jenny Craig > Support Buddy Groups > Over 60s

Well Babybing asked me to post just a one-line if I would on this forum. HA!!! shows how much she knows. tongue.gif I've never been known for my brevity.

Jenny and I have been friends for 3 weeks now and are getting along quite well. I have lost 12 lbs in those 3 weeks. Cudda been more but cudda been less. Such is life so I'll take what I can get.

I am 60 years old today and have won my battle with anorexia. tongue.gif (At least that is what I tell people when they stare at me). Seriously, I have a tremendous amount of weight that I should lose. I won't even let myself contemplate the final number. I work on 10 lbs at the time.

I bought me a charm bracelet and for every 10 lbs I lose, I get a new charm. And every 5th one will be gold. With all those charms and gold it will be so heavy when I reach my goal weight that I will need a "wheelbar" to carry it.

I have found more support here than I ever imagined that I would and my thanks to all of you. I hope that in some small way I can be of encouragement to others.

I think it would be fun to have a facebook account for our group but do not have the tech knowledge to set it up. My children just got me on facebook for the first time about 60 days ago. If you haven't knoticed (had an extra k laying around) I am somewhat tech challlenged. Anyone else interested? If so I can always get one of the younguns to set us up.

I guess you can also tell that I am a country girl and sometimes revert to my old country slang. I will be happy to translate for you city slickers out there. smile.gif

Does anyone WII? I love to WII bowl.

So there - - - - where do we go from here?

HI, Congrats on your loss!

I turned 60 on Sunday (but we're only 21 at heart, right?).

I believe there is a sign-on to facebook for JC--I also just signed on to facebook. I signed on through their webpage last week--maybe through e-tools.

Thanks for starting a new thread. I get so frustrated with the threads that run on for many pages.
I am 65 and live in Auburn, Washington (south of Seattle). I returned to Jenny Craig 2 months ago and am blessed with a wonderful consultant my own age. I love the Jenny Craig food and struggle with the exercise because I had polio as a child and I am limited to walking with my walker or swimming with my grandkids. I am on Facebook also and would love to have a group there so long as we could maintain the security of our connections so that everyone on Facebook doesn't have access to us. If you are looking for me, my name is Kathryn Duvall aka Nanakatewest.
I can't seem to change myTickerFactory goal weight. It now shows my goal as 199. That will be my half way point so guess I'll leave it as is.

We've got a little similiarity going on here. My birthday was the 11th. But, I was born first. Turned 62.

Yes, I have a Wii. Love, love, love it. You gotta get the new Wii Sports RESORTS. It takes a 'motion sensor' that attaches to the bottom of the controller and has a rubber sleeve to go over the controller. Of course, if you house is like mine, I've got 2 controllers.... and had to buy the 2nd motion sensor. No big deal... you can leave it on there with the old games that don't take the motion sensor. Ok - past all that -- the RESORTS package is great. It's got 12 games... and you can 'unleash' levels under each sport. Many great active games. It still has golfing and bowling -- but it's a little better.... We invite friends over and golf 9 holes when it's dark outside. fun! Hope you can get it. I also have the Outdoor Challenge... but have not played it yet... they Grands were suppose to try it and teach me... we all got so hung up on the RESORTS games, time ran out while they were here. Guess I got to learn it on my own.

Hey! You have a FANTASTIC idea on that charm bracelet! I love it. a charm for every 10lb.. and a gold for 50. Is that your plan? Good one! I may adapt that. Maybe we should have a 'charm gang'.

FB has a Jenny link.... personnally, that's all that I have time for. It's a good place.

Has anybody signed up for the Calorie Count daily emails? I like them!

Yes Jo, the charm bracelet is my idea. I love the idea of a charm gang.

Now about the WII. I like the WII games that get me moving and not knowing much about them I am a bit reluctant to get any. The RESORTs - is it something that requires physical activity? Because that is the purpose of mine. I love to bowl and play baseball. Well the practice baseball.

Let me know about the outdoor challenge.
