Full Version: JC Vegetarian Cookbook/Helping JC Out!

I just started my 4th week of vegetarian JC and it's getting tough. The meal offerings (excluding breakfast) are ridiculous for us vegetarians and I wanted to do something about it. Vegetarians need a quick, easy weightloss solution too! I've already written JC and received the canned response "thank you for notifying us...blah...blah..."
After reviewing this forum, it looks like many customers have GREAT meal ideas (including the veggie burger return petition). Perhaps we could help JC with some meals they should provide to us (e.g. veggie burger, veggie potstickers, etc.) and/or create our own JC veggie cookbook following the allowed exchanges per meal. I would have no problem compiling all of the recipes and posting once complete. :o)

My thought is we are all intelligent people who can do something about our frustration instead of having our complaints fall into the blackhole. :o)

Any thoughts?

well i would love to be a support. i have not done too well with the program due to the lack of veggie meals. lost three pounds the first week and have stayed the same for last few weeks. i am trying to make up my own meals but am not too successful. i would love suggestions and ideas as well. i have been eating the breakfasts and desserts as well as the enchiladas, the potatoes and the lasagne. that is it!!!

One of my lunch options are a Boca Burger (vegan) on light wheat hamburger roll which equals 1 1/2 Starch/ 1 Meat and is 190 calories total.

Another lunch choice for me is Amy’s Brown Rice and Veggies Bowl (vegan) which equals 2 Starch/ 1 Veg/ 1 1/2 Fat and is 260 calories total. I usually add more broccoli to this dish.

I too find the lack of meat-free selections challenging. I just responded to a JC survey and put that in the comments. I think it would be easy for JC to offer meat-free burger, pizza, breakfast wrap, potstickers, chili, etc. And it would be more healthful for their clients!
I also suggested JC start offering more organic food options...
My counselor said the boring vegetarian selection can motivate me to get to my half-way point so I can start adding meals on my own; that is going to take months, though!!!
Meanwhile, we veggies have to keep repeating the same week, after week, after week -- groundhog day, big time!
