Full Version: Eating out Korean

Hello -

Tomorrow, I'm eating lunch out with a coworker at a Korean restaurant. The only thing in the dining out guide is "Asian", and I don't see much korean food under that category. I have general knowledge like avoid fried stuff, opt for brown rice, choose chicken or fish over meat or pork, etc.

But, just curious if anyone can recommend specific dishes that are good options. Especially considering everything on the menu has a "sauce", and I never know what's in those.

Thanks,
Julie

Hi there,

I am guessing this is too late for your lunch. However, Korean restaurants usually have a bbq thing that you do at your table, with the meat(s) of your choice and you have a bunch of condiments (veggie based usually) and wrap it all in big lettuce leaves.

It does come with white rice but you could use it minimally or skip the rice.
