Great job everyone! I think we are off to a great start.
I just got home from weigh in. I lost 3.8 in my first week! I was hoping for more but will take whatever I can get! I'm pleased.
So far I have enjoyed MOST of the food. I had the Fajita chicken salad kit last week. Won't be doing that one again. I had the enchilatas today, probably won't do that one again anytime soon. But all in all, the food has been really good.
Let's keep up the good work!

Hey all,
6/17 was my first day and my first weigh in was today. Down 1.5 lbs and I really wish it were more! I just got off a 6 week dose of Prednisone so I thought some water weight would just fall off! No such luck, but I'll keep plugging along. So far, not a fan of the turkey panini. Microwave flavored turkey is not my thing. Maybe I'll try again in the toaster oven. I liked the enchiladas, though! Keep up the good work, all!

Started on June 16 and down 2.5 lbs, despite a food meltdown on Saturday. So 17.5 more to go! I was feeling very hungry last week but ended up cutting out the sugary items and this has helped tremendously. A challenge will come this weekend when I take a vacation with two friends, but I am determined to stick to it. Good luck to all!

Hi, I am happy to meet everyone. I joined June 14th and my weigh in is on Mondays at night. My first week was a 10 yes you heard correct, a 10 pound weight loss. The one that weighs me told me that you usually find that kind of a loss on a man not woman. I was so excite to be able to start out with such a big loss. I know it will slow down form now on but I can live with that! Wishing everyone a great loss next week.

That is great!! Congratulations!! I think we have all done well.
After my nice loss on the scale my kids wanted to go out for Japanese. But I think I did great. We went to the Hibachi side of the restaurant and I ordered the Veggie Delight. Of course they give everyone a couple of shrimp, plus I had some of DS salmon, so I had just a little protein. All in all, think I did well. I ate less than 1/2 my rice and just a few bites of the smothered salad.
It's just a shame that I had just spent $135 on JC food!
Let's keep up the good work!

Good morning "June 14thers".
To keep my mind occupied last night, I did a spreadsheet of everyone who had responded to this point with our weigh-in day & first week loss. When I get home this evening I will try to post it so we can see where we are.
I was reading some other posts last night and came to a conclusion. I was really a little bummed that I didn't lose a little more than the 3.8 lbs. This is because in the past I would lose 5-6 lbs when I started something new & was perfectly OP. But I started thinking...I was already drinking losts of water and hadn't had any soft drinks in almost a week. I actually weighed in 3.5-4 lbs lower than I had a work the previous week. My eating was what was different.
SO...If we have a "small" weight loss the first week, have we already been doing some of the right things and the change isn't as great as it might have been in previous attempts?...
Just a little food for thought.

THIS time, with THIS program , I stopped expecting to drop a huge amount right away..So, While I wished it had been more, I was OK with 2 lbs..IF it's 2 more this week, too, that's fine. I expect it to take a long time but if I can average 2 pounds a week, that 52 pounds in 6 months!! That will put me at goal!
6 months..I can do that, right!!??
It kind of sucks only because I am walking up and down hills for 2 miles every morning and following this plan to the letter..In my younger days, I would have dropped a ton!!
I know I've lost "some" more..not getting on the scale til weigh in on Saturday AM..If it's 2 more, I'll be glad

Great Job Brenda!!
Welcome, "DC" You are doing awesome!
Well, I had a little slip up today. I had a severe chocolate craving today. Of course I didn't have a chocolate JC snack at work. I got up and did some work out of my office, then had to sit around & wait on someone for an hour. During that hour, I coudn't resist and had a Twix ice cream bar.
Now, 3 hours later, I'm starving. I've already had some grapes for my snack. It is a little early, but I think I'm going to go ahead & have my dinner.
I'm trying to figure out why I am so hungry today. Worst day yet, as far as that goes. I had Pancakes for b'fast & chicken salad for lunch with about 1.5 cups of tomato/cuke salad. Plenty of food...???
Any ideas or suggestions?

I'm finding that all fruit is not created equal as far as making me feel satisfied as a snack. Grapes haven't kept me satisfied like an apple. Now, I only each grapes when my menu calls for a snack with two fruits. I imagine I'm eventually going to tire of applies though, so I need to explore.
I've had hunger like you are talking about as well. I have resorted to carrying a baggie of grape tomatoes and sugar snap peas. Crunching on the sugar snap peas seems to help a lot with stress and hunger. So far, that seems to work well to beat my hunger back until the next meal, and they are free foods.

I hadn't thought of sugar snap peas. I will have to try that. I love grape tomatoes so they are a shoe-in.
I'm over my hunger, so it will be a better day. So far I have had the French Toast, which is one of my faves! I will probably hold the milk I usually have for my morning snack for this evening, so I won't have as hard a time today. (Had breakfast a couple hours later than usual, so it should balance out.
Have a great Saturday, everyone.

I had already "cheated" during week 1 when I had family in town but I had my first real test yesterday and I'm going to give myself a C. I went to a BBQ so I ate my lunch before I went. I knew I would be out at dinner time though so I would be eating off plan. I got to the BBQ and there was a ton of food! I wasn't really hungry but could still have gone for a hamburger, they looked so good! I did okay until later (after a few lite beers ) and I started in on the Oreos! I had 4. Then a few Doritos. Then my big downfall...chips & dip. Then for dinner was a piece of pizza. BUT, I did an 8 mile run/walk today. I feel confident that I burned that off.

Back on plan today. Really didn't even eat all my food b/c after getting that much exercise, it was awhile before I could eat again. Also had 10 glasses of water. WI is Tuesday. Excited b/c my scale showed a 3 lb loss as of Saturday.

Good morning all.
Krs, I think all in all the main win for all of us is to recognize when we slip up and not take it as defeat.
After my all afternoon eating binge on Friday, which could have been SO much worse, I recognized it for what it was and got right back on Saturday morning.
Yesterday posed a potential problem, but I planned well and ate well. My mom called early to tell me something was wrong with my dad's breathing, not severe, but not right. I am a respiratory therapist, so the RT took over the daughter in me and I drove the hour that it takes to get to their house. Before I left though, I packed shelf stable meals & snacks for the day, because I didn't know if we would end up in a hospital.
Luckily, we got things corrected just before we went to the hospital and he was okay when I left several hours later. But the major win here is that I was able to grab everything I needed for the day and not eat off program.
That is HUGE for me!
Hope everyone has a great week.

Do you guys mind if I join in with you?
I started 6/13 and my WI's are on Saturdays.
1st week I lost 5.4
This week I gained .8 ARGH.... We had 2 cookouts at work and I had ice cream on Friday! I chose small and healty portions (no burgers... I ate chicken) but I couldn't resist ice cream sundae....
I've been better this week (so far) and I'm not having ice cream!
Can someone tell me how to add a ticker to my signature?
Thanks,

Welcome Tina. The more the merrier!
As for the ticker...go to www.tickerfactory.com (which is what most people have although there are others) and set up whatever one you want. Copy the bb code. Go to "my controls" and set up your signature. You'll copy the code there. To update the ticker, just click on it on any of your posts or your signature page. It will take you back to their website and you can update from there. It will automatically update on your page. (You might want to hit refresh to confirm it changed.)

I slipped up a bit this weekend too. Not so much on the food side, more on the beverage side
A friend of mine is moving away so we celebrated this weekend and I had, well, several beers. However, I restrained myself and didn't eat any of the potato skins, brownies, or onion rings that everyone ordered for the table! I gained a pound. But I'm back on track and determined to keep losing!
Btw, my name's Erika. Didn't realize I hadn't given it before!

Good to have you Erika.
Don't beat yourself up. We didn't get in this shape in one month, we won't get it off in that amount of time, either! glad you avoided the brownies, onion rings & potato skins. I have a weakness for all three! Not sure what I would have done.
I have only eaten out twice in last 2 weeks, which in itself is amazing! We had KFC grilled chicken on father's day & then last Wednesday after WI the kids talked me into going out for Japanese. Luckily I steered them toward the hibachi side & I had grilled veggies and about 1/4 of my rice. All in all I have stuck pretty close to program.
Still waiting to hear from Jill & April, since this is their WI day. Best of luck to both of you!

I just got my call from my center to confirm my appt for tomorrow. I'm not sure how it will go. Earlier this afternoon I was down 0.2 from last week. LOTS of water this evening & tomorrow. I'm hopeful that it will be more when I go in for the official WI.

Congrats Kris, Jill, and Nancy! Jill, I'm a major Diet Coke addict too. I've cut it down to 1 can a day! Something I find helps with the water consumption is to have a big plastic bottle of water sitting on my desk at work so that I'm reminded to drink the water. I'm only having Diet Coke with lunch.
My WI is tomorrow, and when I weighed myself today, I was down 0.4 from last week's WI of 222.4, so I guess I didn't do too bad after all. Will be starting Week 3 tomorrow. This week has gone by so fast! Will fill you in on my WI status tomorrow.
