Small win of the day: I was out last night at an event and saw someone I hadn't seen in a couple months. When I told her I've lost 20 pounds, she said that she'd noticed that my face definitely looked thinner. Yay!
WI is today, but I didn't weigh myself this morning as I drank a little too much last night and really didn't feel like getting my lethargic butt on the scale! So I'm sticking with my weight from yesterday, which indicates the week's loss is 1.4 for a total of 20.8.

Oh well, another day, another chance for victory!!!!Halloween Challenge, 3.7 (21.3 to go)

Ugh, it seems to me that the weeks are getting longer and longer. And tomorrow I volunteered to go to Indiana for the day (I'm in Chicago) to help start rebuilding homes from the floods they had over a year ago. Make that a 6 day work week for me. I'm tempted to cancel but think of all the calories burned from the hard labor!!!!!!!!
I was actually logging on to see if someone could tell me what week we were on but you answered that for me Yolande with your post. I see that I'm on week 11. Time flies when you're having fun!
What do you play on your Wii? I have the orignal sports game and bought the new sports resort a few weeks ago. I also have the Fit and My Fitness Trainer. Still debating on getting the EA Active. I'm trying to hold out for the Biggest Loser game but that doesn't come out until Halloween I think (or maybe it's Thanksgiving). I was interested in Daisy Fuentes' pilates game but it got terrible reviews on Amazon. Oh, I also have Jillian Michael's last game and that stinks too so I tend to forget about it. Was it you Erika that also bought a Wii? What are you playing? An employee at Best Buy told me that they are coming out with another game in the Fit series.
I went shopping yesterday for some new pants since Fall is apparently here. I've gone down 1 size so far but I'm only expecting to go down 1 more. So nice to have clothes that fit. I think it makes me look and feel thinner. I found a great deal on chinos at Sears (Lands End). They were originally $39.50 and marked down to $15. Something to check out if you need some new pants. Day 2 of shopping today now that I need new tops too.
Have a good weekend.

I'm LOVING my Wii
I have the Sports and EA Active. EA has the 30 Day Challenge along with the ability to personalize your own workout. I'm burning about 250-300 calories using my own, which does not include any of the running exercises due to these old knees of mine. But I get a great cardio workout just the same, and have fun with Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis and Baseball in my routines.

I love EA Active as well. It's a great workout because you can customize it to your exercise ability level. My husband is a runner and still gets a great workout. I'd definitely recommend.
I stayed up all night for two nights finishing up my written comprehensive exams that are due Monday night. I'm proud of myself for not eating my way through the nights like I'd do in the past. Instead I drank some Diet Coke for the caffeine and lots of water.
I weigh in tomorrow. I think I'm going to show a loss--not sure how much though.

Morning all and happy Monday. (grr)
So I did my volunteer work on Saturday and had no say in what I ate during the day and when I got home I decided to go out for dinner and had a salad and a strawberry shake (a meal I've eaten many times before JC). HOLY COW! I put all the nutrition info into the BodyBugg site, and WOW was I surprised at the total. Not even going to say it out loud. But it's in the past and I've moved on. Yesterday was a much better day. I was surprised though that the manual labor didn't burn much more than I do on a normal day when I'm just being "active".
When I joined JC, I pretty much walked in and signed up. I had been to the center years ago but didn't sign up and never really did a lot of research. I hadn't even looked at the website to know I could have gotten a coupon from someone online. I'm a little disappointed at all the specials they've had since I joined. Tomorrow is their National Open House and you get 50% off the initial registration. I know I get it back after a year and it's probably better since it is motivation to me, but it would have been nice to pay less up front. Then the one with a free week of food. Sheesh.
On a positive note, I have a pair of pants and sweater on today that fit! I did a little shopping Friday after work.

Wow! You've lost 24 lbs in 11 weeks. Very nice! You're on pace for what the person who signed me up said I should be losing (but I'm not) 8-10lbs a month.
I expect to reach half-way tomorrow. I'm also donating blood earlier in the morning so I'm probably going to have a decent size weight loss. Hope it doesn't screw me up for next week. Fingers crossed.

I am in shock. My scale this week showed a 2.5 lb loss. I don't really know why, I've had a better week, but not great, and it's been sorta stuck the last 3 weeks, only dropping .5-1 lb total. But the JC scale has me down 2 lbs in the last 3 weeks (and it has been less than mine which is really odd). So with my 2.5 loss, plus I donated blood this morning which I am told is a 1-2 lb loss, I decided to start slowly getting the fall clothes out on WI day. I have been wearing a summer dress or a lightweight skirt and top the last few WI days. Today I wore chinos and a lightweight sweater. I didn't want the blood loss to give me a false reading so to speak. Well, according to JC's scale, I STAYED THE SAME as last week. I can't believe it. No way my clothes weigh 2 lbs. The 2 scales have not been more than a pound off and now they are over 2 pounds off??? Even my Wii Fit says I lost 2 lbs. I prepare my food order going in and it all involved around getting $50 off. When I have extra money to spend that week I "treat" myself with a bunch of frozen stuff. I couldn't do that this week w/o the $50 off. I literally was in shock when I was looking at the menu trying to figure out what I had, what I needed and what I could order. I don't know what I ordered now to be honest. I know I didn't order any snacks. My JCC was very nice about it and said to order what I could and didn't pressure me. I still spent $10 more than I wanted too. I was all ready to learn about DOMO's and transitioning to my own food that I really can't believe it. I was hoping to be at half-way last week and now it's going to be at least another week, if not more. It's one thing to not know going in or to think that it's going to be close or think you may have gained or whatever, but I wasn't expecting anything less than a 2 lb weight loss. I left there in shock and nearly in tears. It's the first time I've had this feeling. And oddly enough, it doesn't make me want to exercise, it makes me want to curl up on the couch and have a good cry. I really feel like I've lost faith that I can do this. If my scale shows such a huge drop, what happens next week when it doesn't, will I gain? I have a wedding to go to this weekend so I'm going to be travelling with no time for exercise or eating healthy.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Kris. If you need to curl up and have a good cry, then go ahead and do it! But you gotta get back up and try again! I know that weight loss is an impatient thing, so I guess you just gotta wait a little longer. Let us know if you need anything.

Geez where is everybody? How is everyone's Labor Day going? Staying healthy with all those barbeques around?
I'm at home in Chicago for the weekend for a friend's wedding, and I feel like I did pretty good. There was stuffed chicken with cheese sauce at the wedding so I scraped all the cheese sauce off and only ate half the chicken. I had only a couple bites of the mashed potatoes, and I ate all the green beans plus my friend's green beans (she didn't want em).
I did have to try out the new Sonic that just opened up, but I was good - I got a grilled chicken sandwich (whereas usually I'd get a burger) and I had to try the tots. But I also got the EA Active for Wii while I was home! I can't wait to get back and try it out.

Hi all,
So after last week's disappointment, I found that my heart just wasn't into JC anymore. I don't think I ate any of the dinners I ordered last week and just a few of the breakfasts. I had a bday dinner to go to Thursday night so I had my left overs on Friday night, then I was out of town for a day and a half for a wedding. I did get 2 days of running and 1 pilates class in. Depending on what the scale said today was going to determine whether I was going to continue or take some time off. Well, I lost .6. Still not at half-way but since it's now .6 to go, I can't quit now. I am still only down 2.6 lbs in 5 weeks. It's pretty obvious my head isn't in the game right now. I did sign up to do a 10K at the end of the month so that will get me back on track with the exercise although not as much as before but more than I was doing 2 weeks ago. My only goal right now is to get to half-way, then we'll see where I go from there, can't think to far ahead.

Wow, Jill, you're on a roll! I wasn't so good this weekend - I moved into a new apartment and didn't have access to my microwave. Granted I didn't eat much and I was sweating constantly, but when I did eat I kind of splurged on delivery. However, I tried to do as healthy as possible with delivery. Got Thai food that was chicken with asparagus in a light sauce, Chinese that was sauteed sesame chicken (no breading or deep-frying). I weighed myself this morning and I'm up about 1 pound. Hopefully that'll go down by my WI on Wednesday. How's everyone else doing?

So I'm still around. This past week was about the same as the previous. Relying mostly on exercising but plugging along. I had a heart-to-heart w/myself on Sunday and decided it's just food. What is different now than from the beginning and what was I eating then vs. now and what is preventing me from doing it again. I am also not journaling my food anymore. It all seemed to happen when I got my BodyBugg, no seriously. You have to enter calories eaten vs. with JC, I just ate what and when they told me to, didn't think too much about it. I realized I was eating more than the 1200 calories they put me on with their menu and then I started playing around with it more. In my mind I am ready to get back to it, I just need to work on my will-power.
So I needed to lose .6 to get to half-way (because JC rounded down). Whould you believe that I have had cramps all morning! Today of all days. And I lost .4.

But she gave me $50 off my order anyway. We didn't go over the half-way part of the program though. Hopefully we'll do that next week.
Goal for this week is to get back on track. Goal for the next week is to get out of these d*** 150's.

I had to way in today (Tues) instead of Mondays as usual as I was out of town from Sunday through Tuesday afternoon. I had a lot of wine Sunday night (too much!) but compensated for that the rest of the conference. I watched what I ate and the portion sizes. Still, I was quite shocked today to have a -5.0 loss for the week. I did continue with Zumba this past week and added some jogging to my walking, but otherwise have no idea what happened. Alright! Here I am. Weigh-in yesterday indicates I lost 2 lbs. I'm less than 4 lbs away from being under 200 for the first time in like a year and a half! I was a little worried about the fries I ate on Sunday (was at a bar for the football game, got a turkey sandwich, not a burger, but wanted some fries), but it looked like I compensated enough. I went to a hockey game last night and while I'd usually get a hot dog, did not get a single food item. I brought a JC snack bar with me in case I got hungry.
Have you guys been eating out at all? How are you doing with that?

Alright!
I understand compensating. I had way too much to drink one night, and overcompensated by cutting out desserts, etc.
I only eat out once a month with a friend. I choose the restaurant, so I can stick with what I should eat. I always order a side salad and bring dressing--then have 4 oz of meat, a starch like a potato, and lots of veggies. I have not used the once a week splurge yet. The only other times I have eaten out is when I have to like at my conference over the weekend, since there wasn't a microwave available. I really watch portions. Eating healthy doesn't come natural to me, so I've really been scared to eat out.

Jill.....YOU ARE THE WOMAN!!!! I'm so proud of you, because I know you were a little concerned about being out of town. Well, now you know....you can do it!!!
Yolande
Thanks, Yolande. This has been the first time in my life that I have realized I CAN do it. That alone is worth everything.

Eat out? Oh heck yeah. There has not been one week since I started JC that I have not eaten out at least once. This has to fit into my life. I cannot put my life on hold for Jenny Craig. I'm single and live in a major metropolitan city so much of life revolves around socializing which unfortunately means eating and drinking. However I have chosen to not do some things due to this "diet". For example I did not go out to dinner for a friend's birthday this past Monday because I WI on Tuesdays. Mondays are the one day of the week I avoid things like that. I felt bad missing the bday dinner but we had just done a BBQ the day before and made it into a surprise party for her and I gave her a gift then before I knew about the dinner. So at least I didn't completely blow off her birthday. I just try to keep my portions small if I do go out and I really don't drink that much anymore. Which this all explains my small weight losses the last 2 months but that also tells me that I can incorporate my life into this "diet". I did WW years ago on my own (used their eTools online but didn't go to meetings) and was really strict about it and lost 25 lbs in 3 months. I kept it off for the most part for about a year and then gained that plus another 25 probably. It's probably better for me to take it slow this time around. This works for me and I am not one to judge or tell anyone what to do so I hope others have the same respect for me. I don't believe there is a right or wrong way to "diet".
And speaking of eating out, I officially started on the halfway menu this week and this figuring out exchanges SUCKS! But I feel slightly less itimidated by eating my own foods because I have been. It still makes no sense though.

Kris you finally made it halfway! Yay! Yeah I don't really eat out a ton, I do live in a big city, but don't eat out terribly often. But I have eaten out definitely lately. The problem is the football games - since I don't live in the same region as my team, I have to go out to a bar to see the game, which usually involves ordering some food. I really did try to be good though with that turkey sandwich. I just won't get fries next time - they do offer salad as a side as well.
