Full Version: Switching to a centre
Jenny Craig > Support Buddy Groups > Jenny Direct Buddies

I'm thinking of switching from JD to a centre, mostly because of shipping costs. So how does the centre based system work? Do you get the food you order that day or is there a wait time? Just trying to plan ahead.

Thanks!

You will have your consultation, select your food for the week, and then yes you will get what you selected that day. All the best to you!

I think of it as my JC doing my grocery shopping for me lol. You do the consultation, order the food, pay, wait 2 mins and magically the food is in grocery bags for you. Its a wonderful system smile.gif

Hi Lisa:

I know that it costs a bit more using JD as compared to going to a centre, however, I have always used a centre and am currently using the Jenny Direct method and much prefer it. Sometimes it can be very inconvenient to go to the center. Sometimes they get backed up, or you get hooked up with a counselor who doesn't click with you. Other things can happen as well. I am really enjoying the Direct method. Give the centre a try and see how it goes, but know that the Direct is a great alternative.

100% agree with you. I wouldn't change from direct to a centre AT ALL. I absolutely love weighing in 1st thing in the AM, no clothes to worry about how much they weigh, it's private, I don't have to wait and my consultant and I made a plan from the beginning, she calls me EVERY Friday at 5:30 and if I'm not going to be home, she calls my cell! I know the shipping costs are high, believe it's up to $83 for 4 weeks in 2 shipments but from the awful stories I've heard about a lot of the centres, there's NO way I would switch. Good Luck to you!

I quit Jenny Craig about a year ago. The closest centre was 45 minutes away via a toll road when gas was $4.00 a gallon. But I absolutely adored my consultant so I made the sacrifice to go there each week. As the price of gas continued to go up, we worked out a plan where I would buy 2 weeks of food at one visit and then just have my consultation via the phone in the off week. That worked just great for several months and I lost consistently each week. Then one week I was waiting for my consultant's call but it never came. So I called the centre and was told that she wasn't in that day. I just assumed she was under the weather and I specifically asked if I would be seeing her at my usual time the following week and I was told I would. As I waited for my appointment at the centre the next week, a different consultant called me back and when I asked what was going on I was told that the one that I had worked with previously was no longer with Jenny Craig. When I inquired as to when she left, I was told that she was gone 2 weeks prior so she wasn't even employed there when I had called the week before. The receptionist made it seem like she was just out that day not gone for good. I felt very betrayed because they had not been honest with me. I really couldn't stand the lady they put me with and the only other consultant there was one I hadn't clicked with before and was the reason I had left Jenny Craig two years before that. I really love the program and I have much success with it but I just can't bring myself to go back to that centre given what happened in the past. That's why I'm thinking about joining Jenny Direct. I'm not one of those kinds of people that wants to be ask "so what's your motivation" each week. I have a very stressful job and stressful life. It's difficult just to steal away some time to go to the gym or do anything for myself. I don't like the pressure of having to come up with some lame thing to say each week as my "motivation". That's what I loved about the other consultant. We talked about what I wanted to talk about, not some questions on a form. I really hope the Jenny Direct consultants are as great as she was. I still really miss her.
