Does anyone know how many steps you need to do every day to keep the weightloss at a steady pace? I haven't had a chance to read up on activity yet, but thought there might be an activity guru reading. I am walking every day at lunch and just wondered how much I need to do to really make a difference. Thanks, deb

They encourage you to work up to 10,000 steps a day or more. If you have not exercised in a while, it's OK to start slow.
First, wear your pedometer every day for a week, and record your steps at the end of each day. At the end of the week, add up all the steps for the week, and divide by seven to get your average daily number of steps. (The average American takes about 6,500 steps a day.) For the next week, add to the number of daily steps by walking another 200-500 steps per day. Every week, keep adding daily steps until you get up to 10,000. You can go as fast or as slowly as you like. The idea is to gradually increase your daily activity so that you can burn extra calories and keep your metabolism revved.
