So I'm on week 7 and the past 2 weeks have been less than a pound each WI...gets me very down in the dumps! I have been cheating here and there like sneaking 2 frito chips but can this really be causing weight loss slowing??? I'm increasing my excercise because I want to reach my 20lb mark like soon!!! I was so excited at first because each week was atleast 2 lbs and now I dread going to weigh in...could this be a plateau or do I need to excercise more??? Has anybody else experienced a slow in weight loss? Is this just a phase??

With a plateau you would not be loosing at all, or be bouncing around the same few pounds for SEVERAL weeks. This typically only happens after you have been loosing weight for a long while. I really dont think you are at that point yet. Even a 1/2 pound loss is still a loss, and is getting you closer to your goal every week! 1/2 pound may not sound like a whole lot, but take a pound of butter out of the fridge (or pick one up at the grocery store). You just lost 2 sticks of butter! Even grab several of those things and see how they can add up!
EVERYONE wishes the weight would come off faster. However, a slower loss is best. It is healthier for us, and is more likely to be lasting weight loss than if you deprived yourself and lost it quickly. Wouldn't it be nice if this was the last time you ever needed to loose this weight? Taking it slow gives you more time to really learn this new lifestyle and make permanent changes to how we live our lives and deal with food.
Take care,
Angela

You're doing GREAT! Do not lose hope or throw in the towel- keep with the program, remain honest to yourself (regarding eating & activity accomplishments) and continue moving forward, learning (even if it is by mistakes along the way!- that would be me!!).
Emerald green is right- and, I am living proof of probably THE SLOWEST Weight Loss EVAH!!! on JC!
Sure, I wish it had been faster, I catch myself becoming terribly frustrated, and I really, really really would like to get to goal already! But yes, I'm learning what it will take to keep the weight off and make being active a natural way of living in the mean time. (heavy sigh)
All I can say is: Keep on it! JC works- you just gotta stay with it even when the "honeymoon" is over. I think the honeymoon is early/in the beginning, when it's all still so exciting, new and yes- weigh-ins can show big losses for many folks (although it did not for ME).
Remember WHY you want to lose and get healthier, and WHAT you're willing to DO to get it. Write it down. And decide that no matter HOW LONG it takes- you find ways to recommit to yourself these things every day. Even when it seems like nothing (you can see/measure) is happening. I do this allot lately. It is helping me remain committed and focused.

Thanks to the both of you for such great support! And both of your comments are very true!!! I just have to realize any loss is better than a gain or no loss at all! I WI on Friday...hopefully it will be a good day! =)

I needed this board as well. I'm getting close to goal and have been cheating. This week I gained 2 lbs back. So your great messages were the wake up call I needed. Thanks. :-)
