Jenny Craig > Weight Loss Goals > 0-40
Shrinking Tamara
Looking to see if there is anyone else out there in my shoes? I have a petite frame 5'1" (and a half!). I currently weight 122 and want to get down to 110. I have been at 110 before, but by doing it the unhealthy way -- a lot of skipping meals! I look and feel good at that weight though. Looking to see if anyone has reached a similar goal and what it took to get there. It takes so long to lose (.2-.6 or so a week) and then bam! one week of going off plan and I'm up 3 lbs! I'm going back home for a visit in 3 weeks and sure wanted to fit into some of my clothes. Any advice?

Try using a site like fitday.com or sparkpeople.com to track calories and set weight loss goals. It will also let you know what your BMI is and where it should be, and whether that's a healthy weight for you.

I am 5'4" and currently at 131 looking to get to 115. I may re-evaluate when I get to 120 and call it goal. We'll see. I am definitely more fit looking now at 130 than I did at 115lbs 10 yrs ago. I totally agree that it is soooo hard to lose at this point but my advice is to stay on plan and also make sure that you are not going below your calories b/c usually that is when I gain. I have to eat at least 1100 calories every single day or I end up gaining.

Shrinking Tamara if you are working out, you may also be losing inches, so you may be able to fit into those clothes you are looking forward to.

Good luck and just keep going....you'll get there.

I am 5'-1" also. If I recall correctly, a healthy weight range for us is 101 to 127 pounds, so 110 is probably not too low for you. I was nearly 300 lbs. at one point in my life, so that would NOT be realistic for me and currently have 150 as my goal... but I will probably lower that at some point.

Take care,

I'm just like you. I'm 5'2", 125 lbs. and looking to lose 10-15 lbs. Probably more like 15lbs. I signed up recently and am on day 2.

I'm in my 30's now, but when I was 22 I was 5'2" and 97lbs. I looked really tiny. It honestly looked perfect on me. I wore about a size 0-1. If you watch movies, it looks like that girl in Fools Gold, the really cute tiny girl in the bikini, Gemma. That's what it would look like on someone our height.

I'm 5'1" and currently weigh 151.6 I just started JC a few days ago. So far I love it. I was hoping to get down to 115 because I think thats the lowest I have been from over 10 years ago. I can't imagine myself at 100 lbs. I wonder what I would even look at. I can't wait to see if I can reach my goal and continue further.

Hi there,
I re-committed myself today with an official weigh in of 125... I am a tall 5'3 and my goal at the center says 118... By halloween I would really like to be 115..... BUT my 21st birthday is ONE MONTH away from today!!! what is the most weight any of you have lost in 4 weeks? I am hoping I can lose AT LEAST 5lbs in 4 weeks. I am so highly active... anyways just thought i would ask!

ps, how does everyone get the trackers on there?

I'm 5'2" and 110 was always too hard for me to maintain - too much work! I am much more comfortable around 120 as I can do that without thinking about diet and exercise constantly which is the best option in my case. As long as I fit in my favorite jeans - I'm happy no matter what that number is smile.gif 5.6 pounds down - and hoping it just keeps going!

I am 4'11" and 155 on Friday when I joined JC. My husband is 6' and also 155 pounds. That is going to be the hardest thing for me is that my husband and children are all of normal health weight and can eat what ever they want to...

Now that you have been at this for a week how is it going for you???
ana97abby03
I am 5ft tall and started JC at 150lbs. I set my goal for 130 b/c 20lbs seemed attainable. I think my perfect size is about 125 and toned. I am around a size 6/8 at that weight. I ignore the charts that say I should weigh 110lbs. Everyone is built differently. I am 36D with small waist and curvy. I get plenty of positive attention, even at a higher weight.lol. So I say just go with what feels right for you. I was getting a muffin top and outgrowing all my clothes. Couldn't deal so joined JC. I have lost about 5 pounds and already went down a size. Its amazing how a small amt of weight gain or loss affects you when you are short.

I totally know where you all are coming from!!! I'm 5'1 and right now 130lbs. I was 120 for YEARS!!! Then I recently worked at a restaurant and put on 15lbs. People think I'm fine, but I'm so uncomfortable. I don't think people realize how 5-10 lbs affects a person of our height. My goal is to get back at least at my 120 mark cause I know I can get there..then from there i'm looking about the 115-118 range, which is where I was May of last year. I have alot of muscle on me so I will never get to a 101-105 range. But I know I can maintain 115-120 so that is where my goal is. But my biggest concern right now is fitting into my clothes again. They all pretty much fit me, but jeans and pants are a little tight when putting them on and frankly, I miss my abs. But you all can do it!

Dont focus so much on the scale but how you feel, and also keep your build into mind as well (if you have a lot of muscle or big bones). But I have faith in all of you that you can do it!!!

I'm 5'2" and in my fit 20's I was 118-123 and that was running 5 miles a day, and size 4. Sadly now at 42 not sure I will ever see that weight or size again but I am shooting for it!!

I am 42 and 5'2 as well. I started JC almost 7 weeks ago. My starting weight was 132, happy to say at 118 right now. My goal is 110-115. What upsets me the most is noone seems to notice.. I cannot understand why. I know I look better and feel better so Its not that important what others think.

Anyway, us little people we can do this! Keep up the good work!

HI!!!
I am from Puerto Rico, 5'1" and 3 weeks ago was 139 lbs. The thing is that people tell me that I look fine because I am curvy and don't have a belly. BUT, I DON"T FEEL GOOD!!!
That's why I decided to lose 30 lbs and join JC.

I like the food and eat everything on the menu. Eat lots of veggies and exercise 5-6 days a week.

1st WI - lost 4 lbs
2nd WI - lost 1.2 lbs (expected a lot more because I was very very active)
3rd WI - lost 2 lbs (don't know what to think....)

I am starting my fourth week and looking forward to the measuring!!!!!

Should I do less exercise??? ANY SUGGESTIONS ???

I am going to continue with my exercises... During this week, I am personalizing the menu so I am repeating foods (the ones that I like).
Good luck to everyone!!!!!!! smile.gif

Hi, Just joined, I'm 5'2 and 146 lbs, my goal is 105 lbs.
Taking it step by step. I'm so scared that I wont lose any weight though. Will definitely keep you guys posted and would like to hear how you guys get on, seeing as we are similar height.

I was 120 lbs last year, I really want to go back there and hopefully pass that and reach my goal.
CarolAnnR
I am 5'2", was 156.2 at the start and now am 137.2. I was afraid I wouldn't lose on it too, but it has been no problem.

My goal weight is 130 lbs but I am thinking of lowering it to 125 lbs or even 120 lbs. Though honestly, I feel pretty good about where I am at now even. smile.gif
Wanting to see less of me
Well, I'm 4'11" and weighed in last week, which was my first time at JC, after dinner with all my clothes, at 142. I wanted to cry and my eyes did water. I'm turning 48 in 2 weeks and just feel out of control with my weight, however, it's mind over matter and I feel much better at the end of my first week as I'm finally doing something about my weight. I'm taking the no-brainer approach - follow the diet and you will lose. I'm taking control. My ultimate goal is 110.

I was 109 at 40 as I went on Weight Watchers but the difference was the rep came to our office and there were at least 15 of us who were doing it together. Now I'm in a office of 3 and we vary differently but still we are trying to watch our weight.

I figure one week at time - we watch the biggest loser every season and do get inspired by these morbidly obese people who participate. I've never eaten like they do but still the weight creeps on. I love wine and my home-made popcorn.

One day at a time is all that we can do. Lose according to your body frame and comfort level. Like others have mentioned, you may have more muscle than you think and your body is firmer. If you feel great, then well, there you go.

Thank you ladies for all your comments. You help me get through.

I'm a short gal as well, I'm 5'0''.

I started Jenny Craig in September, weighing in at 136 lbs and fed up with feeling bloated and uncomfortable so often. I felt VERY discouraged for the first 7-8 weeks on the program.

My first weigh-in I lost .08 lbs, and the following weeks were losses of -.02, -.04 etc. I was sticking to the program, eating all of the food without cheating, and was frustrated at how slowly the weight was coming off. Then around the 5th week, it started going up! +.04, +.04...

But then I significantly increased my exercise and water intake, and the weight has been coming off much faster. -1.8 lbs one week, -2.4 the next. My body wasn't losing a lot on the food alone, my body needed the exercise. Sucks huh? Lol! I NEED to exercise to lose this weight. Ps. I started losing when I started Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred dvd 3-4 times per week.

Anyhow, I'm on my 10th week of the program, and I'm down 8 lbs. That may not seem like a lot to some, but it is when you don't have a whole lot to lose! I feel really motivated now.

My goal is to be at 110 lbs as well. And it is definitely realistic!

Good luck everybody!

I was just reading your summary - I also was at weight watchers many times, but decided I "know" that plan and finally joined JC this year. I much prefer it, because I need at least some guidelines on what to eat, rather than just counting "points".

Good luck!

I'm currently about 5 feet tall (I used to be 5'2" but I lost height after breaking a vertebrae about 10 years ago) and unfortunately, 110 is not a realistic goal for me. I am really unlucky in being one of the short people that has a larger frame - I'm always heavier than other people my height. That sucks!

Anyway, I started in mid November at 163.8 (my highest weight ever, not being pregnant). I'm on my 8th week, I think, and have lost somewhere around 7 lbs. I weigh in tomorrow, but I'm really worried because last week I actually lost weight when I had been bad and this week wasn't great. I don't want to go and have gained weight, even if I do deserve it!

I don't know about you guys, but I am definitely eating less than I did pre-JC and am so upset that doesn't translate into losing weight! (More about not gaining than losing, which sucks.) Since it is slow going so far, my current goal is to lose 3 lbs a month, which would get me to my goal (120) in about a year. We'll see.

Good luck, everyone!

I'm 5'2 and was wondering the same thing about whether or not it's realistic. I will be 30 in April and was hoping to go from 130 to 115. I'm in my 2nd week... The first week I lost 2.4 and was very surprised. I know some people lose more in the beginning because of water weight, but I still hope I can continue to lose at that rate.

I love this board, because I'm in the same boat as everyone else here. At 5'0", I weighed 112 in high school and looked amazing with not having to ever worry about what I wore. But in college, after the first year, I was at 125 and looked bloated, I watched myself after that first year and stayed at about all up until I turned 21. Several months into turning 21, I started to gain weight and didn't stop. I started Jenny Craig just 4 weeks ago (I'm 24 now) when I was 146 lbs, because, looking at pictures of myself with horrible muffin top, wings on my back, and all sorts of fat rolls, I realized it was time for a change. It was disgusting and my self-confidence was no where to be found, not to mention my mom and her current nagging of my weight and being the only one of my group of friends without a boyfriend and feeling like that was attributed to my lack of self-esteem due to being overweight. That's when I started Jenny Craig, and I feel like all the socializing and hectic schedule that I lead that going back to 112 is not possible, so I set myself at 118. And these last few weeks, I have only lost a total of 1.6 lbs. It is so hard, because I want to be able to lose just like everyone else, but I know with a weight loss goal of only 28 lbs, that losing more than 1 lb a week just probably won't happen. But I love these posts because it does remind me that I'm not the only one facing the same problems. Thanks for helping me to stay motivated and to lose!

Now back to my goal to being able to wear a bikini sometime this summer without being embarassed!!!
jdh2010
I'm 5'0 as well, and right now I'm 22 & I'm about 150. I would like to lose 20 pounds to start off with & then see how that looks on me, I may want to go down to 125 or 120, but I've never wanted to be lower than 120. I don't want to skinny, I want to be healthy & still have some meat on my bones.

But yeah, when I was younger I really liked being at about 120, and I looked great. I didn't have this stomach but I wasn't disappearing when I turned to the side, lol. So I think eventually, my ideal weight will be about 120-125, but right now a good goal for me is 130.
