I have been at approx. the same weight since Jan. 09. I weigh between 141 & 145 on any given day, my starting weight was 181. I have been eating on my own following JC's wl guidelines. I consume between 1200 & 1300 cal per day. I rarely indulge in a splurge. My weekly exercise regime was usually a Leslie Sansone "walk" dvd for 30 min 3-4 days a week. I would like to lose an additional 10 lbs. Since my wl stalled, I decided I needed to kick up my exercise to boost my metabolism. About March 15 I began a running program in the morning. I began with 1 mile, alternating between running and walking until I was able to run the complete mile a few weeks later. I have since added another 1/2 mile, 1&1/2 miles total. In addition to the cardio in the morning, I have also added resistence training to build my muscles. I work on my core, upper & lower body and abs. I use resistance bands, which I understand to be as effective as weights. The last few weeks I began walking 1 & 1/2 miles at a brisk pace in the evening. I now run & walk 5 days a week and do the toning exercises 3 days a week. My weight is still stalled. I am at a loss. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

you may be exercising to much for your calorie lvl. Maybe you should talk to your JCC about the increase of activity and maybe you should increase you calorie lvl. I also exercise a lot. But on the days I do a lot of exercise I increase my calorie intake to 1500 the rest of the days I am at 1200. And that works great for me.

It sounds like you are doing great to me! Once you add in the weight training, it'll take 6-8 weeks for your body to adjust to the changes, but then the looses should start up again. Plus you do need to eat just a little more or you wont be able to build the muscles up (1500 is probably appropriate), because 1200 calories just isn't enough to build muscle. Building muscle will increase your metabolism so that you burn more calories all the time and not just when you exersize. It'll also help to reshape your bod, which is great!

Take care,

Thanks, any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. I have been moving more (walking & running) for about 10 weeks and doing the strength training for about 4-5 weeks. Maybe I need to give it a little more time and maybe I do need to add a few more calories. BTW, I do look much better than I did before losing weight with JC, but I think there's still room for some improvement. Did I mention that I'm 57, will turn 58 on June 2.

I can always count on my fellow JCer's for help.
