Full Version: Anyone have to lose 10 or less
Jenny Craig > Weight Loss Goals > 0-40
MsJust10
Hello -- I am the perpetual dieter!

I lost about 40lbs years ago on weight watchers. Over time, I gained about 7 back. In the pst two months, Ive gained another 3.

So, I joined Jenny 3 weeks ago with the intent to lose 10-15lbs. At first, the weight came flying off...(3.5 lbs the first week). Now .2 the second, now nothing.

I eat my two fruits daily, my milk and vegetables. And the bars. Yep, I eat all the food. And I find spacing it out throughout the day helps with the hunger. With my job, I manage to get to the gym approx 3 times a week for an hour or hour and half. Tons of water daily - approx 3 large bottles of fiji water daily (3 liters) and two bottles of perrier. No diet cokes or other drinks.

Yes, I could afford to get there 1 -3 more times a week, but proving hard.

I realize with the last few pounds its that much harder so looking for others who are in the same frustrating boat. Its hard to be hungry, working out etc and see hardly much change.

I had to add more cardio to lose. I do 45 minutes cardio five times a week minimum and keep losing except when I get my period. Biggest Loser is a huge inspiration...it's a last chance workout each time.
WorknIt
Mind if I grab an oar?! I'm in the same boat. Within 10 pounds of my GW. And have been struggling in this range for months. SO near, yet so far away.
I confess- Had a total meltdown at my JC appt. yesterday. Frustration with myself, program, figuring out how to eat/exchange on my own. I could not help but just cry! I haven't cried over this weight-stuff since the day I walked INTO JC. My JCC was great, understanding and all that.
Yeah, yeah, I've come a long way. Yes, it's a LIFELONG thing. I'm still harbouring self-doubt that I can do it. And keep it off. I've still got a long way to go with my mindset and "embracing this new lifestyle".
I'm beginning to wonder if I'm saboutaging myself subconciously with these last 10 lbs coming off.

I did get to see the latest Biggest Loser final show. Those folks are truly amazing. And each one's story made me cry. I can't help but think- now WHY can't I do it too?! I'm so close...what is holding me back?
FrankieMarie159
Yep...me too. I've been trying to lose those last 10 pounds for 2 and 1/2 years now! I can't even believe it's been that long. On one hand, I want to be proud of myself for at least maintaining the same weight for that long after being a severe yo-yo dieter. But on the other hand, it's frustrating to have really "good" weeks of diet and exercise and see no results. NOTHING. I know it's all ME though - I know what I need to do but I just don't do it after a week of feeling starved and tired. It's as Workinit said, I'm pretty sure I'm saboutaging myself sub-conciously because I go from "I can do this!" to "Why even bother!". I guess this post kind of turned into my own pity-party (ha!) but I just wish I had my motivation back. I need something to REALLY give me a purpose to get to my goal for good. Are any of you participating in one of the many mini-challenges on these boards?? Maybe that's what we could do?? If we puts our heads together I'm SURE we could get this figured out and get those "last 10" off for GOOD!

Frankie and all, I'm with ya. Two summers ago, we had WW at work and according to the records I have from that time, I weighed around 175 -- and I was trying to lose! That August, I quit a retail job that had me standing and walking, to go to a desk job that served free dinner two nights a week, with no low-fat or low-cal items. I gained 13 lbs. in 4 mos!

I went back to JC in Feb. 08 and again this Feb. I'm now at around 179 after going through **** and high water to get out of the 180s. I just want to get to like 170 to see how it feels.

Is that too much to ask? ha ha

With summer coming, and having the psychological advantage of finally hitting the 170s, I think I can do it. I ran a 5K a couple weeks ago. And now I am starting to train for a mini-triathlon in mid-July. I watched the Biggest Loser every Tuesday night with my daughter while we worked out at my apt. fitness room for two hours. My daughter who is 22 ran a half-marathon this past weekend.

I'm with you in vowing to get fit and trim. It all begins with the food choices I make.

Keep checking in.

Check out this story about a 78 yo nun who does full Ironman triathlons.

Love that nun! Very inspring!

I have about 12 pounds to lose. Not a lot, but it takes the same focus and dedication as any other number. Weekends are my toughest challenge, and the next four are busy, busy, busy. I am hopeful that the structure of JC will help, even when I am doing MOMO's and not eating prepared foods.

No, I'm the perpetual dieter! I also lost 30 pounds on Jenny over 10 years ago, but fortunately I purchased a lifetime program so I can return for what I call "tune ups." I've tried WW and various other diets in the pursuit of losing and KEEPING OFF the 5-10 pounds that creeps back on. However, I end up back at Jenny because it is easy, the food satisfying, and it works! So, I am back again and hoping that after I lose the weight, I will continue to visit Jenny once a month to weigh in and purchase some of the satisfying meals to keep me within a few pounds of my goal ALWAYS!

Hi Sherry and DieAnn,

I lost 24 lbs with Jenny a few years ago. I also bought a membership that I have to pay only $40 a year to keep up. Luckily, I decided to renew it last year. Now, I can go to weigh-ins, and order food if I want to. I have a 30% discount so that is sweet. Some of the food I really like, and I incorporate it into my overall diet. I like to cook and prepare healthy meals and huge vegetable salads for myself and my daughter.

This a.m., I weighed in at 179.4 -- I am going to say out of those 180s this time!!!!!!

Have a good week.

What are you doing at the gym? With cardio, really, only intensity matters, so you might want to switch up your workout for a bit (ie it's better to sprint for 20 minutes rather than a slow jog for 90). Are you just doing cardio, or are you lifting heavy weights as well?
Maplegirl
Hey everyone!

I am definitely in the same boat as you all. I lost 50lbs. over the last 5-6 years, and I have been fighting for the last year and a half or 2 years to lose and keep off the last 10 pounds. I am 24, 5.2'' tall, and currently weigh 119lbs. I want to get down to 110lbs., where I am most comfortable with my body, and I can't seem to do it. I've been on JC for 3 weeks now, and have only lost 0.7lb in this whole time....so it's a real let-down. I do A LOT of walking, but I work a ton and don't have the time or energy to go to the gym really...SO, my exercise is really lacking at the moment, at least when it comes to intense types. It's come to the point that I am wondering whether or not doing JC will even help me get these pounds GONE at all, or if my last 10 pounds will never come off until I get a work schedule that enables me to get to the gym. Hmmm... I definitely feel like I am the ONLY person who has not even lost an entire single pound on Jenn after 3 weeks. Yeesh.

Maplegirl, I also joined 3 weeks ago and actually went up .4 last week. It's so very discouraging! But, I'm not letting myself get discouraged. The less you have to lose the harder it is.

I have heard that cardio really revs up the calorie burning and weight loss. I found a DVD on Amazon this weekend that is a 20 minute intensive cardio that I will incorporate into my exercise program as soon as it arrives. Currently, I do a combination of weights, elliptical, yoga/pilates, working out 5-6 times a week. I also eat pretty healthy, but eating even better now on JC.

Since I know I'm doing all the right things, I can only be patient and hope to see results soon.

I like the idea from a post earlier that said we need a challenge for the last 10-15 pounds! I'm in.

Good luck to everyone and know that you are better than most people out there just by making the effort! that's got to be worth something, right?

WOW, its so great to know that I am not alone. I have yet to lose 8 more pounds and its been a tough journey for me. Soon to be 27 and still enjoy going out with friends. It is tough but I know if I did it before I can do it again. I have been doing about 45 minutes of cardio five times a week and I try to stick to my JC. I do have a sleeping problem where I tend to just wake up in the middle of the night and grad something to eat. This is probably THE MAIN reason why its been sooooo long to lose the weight. I do have 8 more pounds and its been over four months trying to lose that last 8.

Is anyone on the same boat and would like to be my buddy by motivating each other every week? If so please send me your e-mail address.

I have 8.2 lbs to go until goal. I am with you. I need to up my exercise. I am older than you, but motivated to lose. This week I only lost 4 ounces and last week I stayed the same so I am trying to exercise more and drink more water. Period due on MOnday and a few days before I will eat anything in sight. PLUS we are going away for the weekend. I NEED to stay on track. If you want to email me I have a Blackberry and can respond pretty quickly...cheroach@optonline.net

How is everyone doing now?? I have 7 lbs to lose and it has been 7 months and I am READY to be consistent and lose! what is the fastest anyone has lost weight week by week?

Wow. This was good to read. I have been trying to kick my last few pounds for awhile now. Seems like, even on a good week, the best I can do is a pound. And then, if I waiver even slightly, the pound comes creeping back. Staying a distance from my starting weight though. One interesting thing I have noticed here in the final stretch, is that, unless I get to that place of hunger, especially before I go to bed, I don't lose. In other words, if I am eating such that I don't get hungry, I don't lose. But if I eat just under being satisfied, and I have a bit of a growling stomach at some point during the day or evening most days of the week, I lose that week.

frana
Dancin Dame- I agree about the stomach grumbling before bed... not enough to be uncomfortable, but just a little signal that says, "It's bedtime, no more food."

I'm finding that, for these last five pounds, I have to be extra dilligent in sticking to my food and activity plan. And, I have to refrain from weighing myself during the week. Those little fluctuations play mind games with me. I just weigh in at the center, once per week.

Good Luck to all! We will get there!

You know, I've been thinking about this one for awhile now....has anyone found "The Magic Combination" of JC foods that really get you to loss. Now I know they all work. But I also know that even 100% on the program, sometimes I lose and sometimes I don't. Perhaps there are too many other factors to answer a question like this but I recently read in one of the other posts a discussion about the sugar content in desserts. I think lemon cake was one of the focuses of the discussion. At any rate, one of the contributors to that discussion mentioned that when she drops the things with high sugar content from her day, she loses, but before she did that, she wasn't losing. I also know that there used to be a listing that showed all meals from low to high calorie counts. SO I was wondering... it you took the lowest calorie bfst, lunch and dinner and then chose the lowest sugar snack... and I ate that Magic Combination for a week, would that kick the weight loss up, more so than other weeks.....

Under e-tools you can find nutrition information on all the Jenny Craig foods....I wanted to lose about 15 pounds...I lost 7.4 pounds since July 10th. This week I lost nothing. Am very disappointed.
Dancin Dame
Thanks for the tip on nutrition info. I printed it all out today, highlighted the meals/snacks with lowest sugar content and picked up a weeks worth of food based on low sugar choices. I only have 1.5 (ish) pounds to go til goal (started this Feb and wanted to lose 11 pounds). Will be interesting to see if this is my lucky week.....
