Hi I am on the second day of JC and hungry all the time! I am so determined to do this though and have added extra veggies and even some egg whites to fill me up - guess i was in denial as I was eating around 2200 calories daily and maintaining weight but since my JCC put me on the 1200 claorie program it is a bit hard to get used to -quite shocking really as i am beginning to dream of food! Although, i do already feel better and have more energy so..... i will march on. Would love some buddies as i love hearing about others journey !

Depending on your start weight, you may be able to go up to 1500 cals or even higher. 1500 cals a day will give you an extra fat and 2 extra fruits. IF you are still hungry at the end of this week, talk to your consultant about raising your calorie level. If you are physically hungry (stomach growling, headache, etc) you certainly will not lose weight if your body thinks you are starving it. If you just "think" youare hungry (no tummy rumbles, no headaches, etc) try taking a walk or sipping your fave no cal beverage and reading a magazine or book to keep your mind off of food. JC does work. Stick with it.

Thanks DanceDiva! My starting weight is 192 and I am 5'3. I have had no problem maitaining my weight it just doesn't seem to go down!LOL - i am fairly active both at work, the house and I have three kids ( two are toddlers) so there are lots of active moments ! I also try to work out a few times a week (30 min of cardio and weights!) I love JC and signed uo for a year hoping to lose around 40 pounds, and I am eating everything they have given me and inlcude lots of veggie and salads. Thanks for your encouragement and i think that I will add acouple hundred healthy calories until my stomach adjusts, and good tip i will make sure to recognize if it is hunger or emotional! I have always eaten really well, although I love cookies and large portions and I am great about momo ( I have business lunches or travel which would not allow me to bring food) so I think 1500 hundred would be a better fit and I will talk to my JCC on Monday!

A lot of people are hungry the first few days. I was too. Before the end of the first week I was pretty used to the portions and was not hungry any more. My brain tough was still thinking that what it was looking at could not be enough food. But my brain adjusted as well.
My first week I had carrots to munch on and 0 cal yell-o in the fridge.
A lot of people on the forum have experienced hunger in the first few days and almost all say it goes away before the end of week 1.
Just hang in there. Your stomach will get used to eat. And just eat unlimited foods in between. I can tell you I don't eat them as often anymore in between. Only if I feel like binging.

Irene,
I started with JC two years ago at 177 and I was able to stay on 1500 until I reached 165. I would think that this would be about right for you too. Glad you will be talking to your consultant. I would ask/tell her you would like to build in some more "healthy calories" to combat hunger. Glad you are sticking with it. It will work. I just weighed in after my "re-start" and lost 1.6 lbs. I was down to 142 before losing my job and want to get back there. We can do this! Take care.

I'm in my 3rd day on the program...and find that today is harder than days 1 and 2. I'm not sure why. But like you, I am committed to making this work. So I guess I will just reach for another radish or carrot.

Be sure and have tasty snacks, if carrotts are tasty to you then great....but if someone told me to snack on carrotts thats like telling me to knaw on a wood stick....dont like them.
I snack on a few pretzels or fiber bar or a few grapes. Nabisco has choc covered pretzels in little snack bags, 100 cal each......Fiber Plus and Fiber one have bars that are to die for, taste like snickers bar and the same cal as JC bars with less sugar and good for you......
I just know for myself if I'm not getting snacks that are tasty to me then I will lose interest real quick...well that goes for food period.....and JC food is really good.
