OK, I've walked past the stack of fitness gear and programs at the centre many times, thinking at various points: 1) too expensive, 2) not enough of a workout/too much of a workout (depending on the day--ha!), and 3) will this merely collect dust--do I really NEED it?

Today I tempted fate when I saw that it was only $26.99 as this month's featured fitness special--and boy, am I glad! I just finished the workout and feel awesome. It was tough, but not too tough and had modifications for beginners like me. It also comes with an extra bonus 1/2 hour Pilates workout that looks too advanced for me, but I will give it a shot tomorrow hopefully and try it out.

My advice to anyone spying the resistance bands workout at the centre--buy it and try it! It's pretty darn cool. And I've got a nice healthy flush going on. Not bad for my "first day back on the plan" after falling off the wagon for 3 months.

Sometimes throwing caution to wind in a positive direction and just "winging it" is sweet!

I didn't realize that JC sells this. I bought it at Target, but its mostly my husband who uses it (I bought it FOR him, not me). Sounds exactly the same as the one I bought, with the "bonus" Ana Caban pilates workout. I dont recall how much I paid, but I think it was around that same price.

I like that it includes 3 bands, so DH can use the hard one and I can use the easier ones. The lakeside setting on the DVD sure is pretty, isn't it?

Take care,
Angela

Hi Angela,

Yes, that's the one!

I love that lakeside setting, too, and the meticulously placed stones leading up to the lake. It's one of the better videos I've seen, and I especially like that its "relaxing" tone instead of a super-hyped, fast-cutting, personality-driven host. I mean, there's a place for those, too, but when it comes time to unwind, I really like the use of voiceover--kind of lets me get into my workout in a personal way.

The bands are tough (even the easiest purple one...), but that should improve with time. wink.gif I do wonder if the standing poses are harder for me because I'm a bit taller.

How does your hubby like it? You should try it! The half-hour goes by really quickly.

Hello all!

I bought the tri cord last Monday (5/18) and I used it for the first time on Thursday of that week. I am ashamed to say I couldn't keep up with the begining level person. I felt great afterwards. I love the setting and that you do not get yelled at by the host. One problem though is if you are really tired one might fall asleep during the begining stretching exercises when you are down on the floor. I like the fact that you do not spend a lot of time getting up and down on the floor. It's not to bad getting down it's getting back up right now that is slightly a problem for me. Once I reach my goal weight or even my halfway goal I'll be jumping up to a standing position.

Hi all! I'm in my first week of JC and bought this today after spying it at the JCC. It was a really good workout. Not to long, not to short, and it really got me to sweat. I really liked the Ab workout at the end. Maybe i'll try the pilates portion tomorrow! Best of luck everyone! Goal weight here i come!
