I will be having this tonight for the 1st time, any suggestions on how you prepare yours? Is baking this one better than microwaving it? What do you add to, was thinking about going to get a premade cole slaw bag but what should I add to that?? Any and all suggestions, greatly appreciated. Thanks! rolleyes.gif

Hey Kathleen!

I found this dish to be very saucy, almost like canned pork and beans. I microwaved it, and served it with broccoli slaw with some FF Ranch dressing (I would have used FF cole slaw dressing *IF* the store had had any smile.gif

It's not a bad dish. I don't think I will be ordering it again unless I can come up with a more creative idea of what to have with it.

I wonder how it would be with say Raisin and Carrot salad? Use up one of the fruits for the day along with a veggie?

Haven't quite figured out how to "volumize" this meal, because I can't think of a veggie that I'd want to necessarily add to the baked bean sauce (and it is pretty saucy). So, this one, I eat as-is (I love it, btw), and just make a whole mess of veggies to eat on the side. I get my veggies in, but they're just not incorporated into the dish.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll go and buy the pre made cole slaw and add some FF dressing to it or something like that. I'm glad to finally be having it, this is almost the end of my 3rd week. Funny, there are still foods I haven't tried yet which is nice! smile.gif

I agree completely. I love this one too, and I just serve it in a small slightly deep dish to contain the sauce (I kind of shred the chicken first) and have a gigantic salad on the side. One of my faves! biggrin.gif

How about serving the baked beans and sauce over spaghetti squash - and then topping it off with the chicken (shredded)?

I think I'll try that this week....

Ok I bought the cookout chicken and beans dinner today - so haven't tried it. However, if you are looking for suggstions - I would possibly add a chopped sweet onion and one of the light syrups to the beans, dash of wostershire and a little mustard (and possibly low-sugar ketchup) and put into a baking dish and bake for 45 minutes or so.

Again - haven't tried it - but it might work.

Thanks!

Well, it kinda doesn't really matter anymore, I can't eat it. We have found that there is something in it that didn't agree with me, so I don't eat it anymore and I gave away the 3 that I had because I had ordered more before I figured out I couldn't eat them. So, thanks anyway, hope you can enjoy your recipe sounds great!

Oh my gosh! This is one of my FAVORITE dinners!

I put the chicken and beans on a big bed of iceberg lettuce, I add salsa and some fat free sour cream... and it's to DIE for!

LOVE it! smile.gif

I agree! I've also poured it over the top of a plate of lettuce and it's great!

For those of you who want to make cole slaw -- take 1 Tabl fat free Miracle Whip, 1 Tabl fat free sour cream and some splenda, salt, pepper and mix with slaw mix. Delish..
