Hi, My name is Kathy but it was already taken. I am new to this, joined Saturday 4/25. I am going through my planned menu and it keeps mentioning a "soupitizer". I tried calling JennyCare but they are closed for tonight as is my centre. Can anyone tell me what that is? Its on my menu for tomorrow and I don't know what it is.

It is soup which you buy at the center. I did not have them the first week and still had great loss. Don't worry about it, just follow your planned menu. Good luck with the program.

A soupatizer is an optional item. It is a broth based soup that you can add to your lunch or dinner if you find that you are hungry and wanting your meals to have a bit more substance. It counts as two of your limited free foods. Many people find them to be helpful, just as many find that they are not hungry on the plan and don't need these "extras".
The soupatizers are listed on the menu to remind you that it is an option, but it is not required so unless you order them, you can just ignore them on your menu.

Thanks for the info on Soupitizer. Can you use any soup or does it have to be JC?

THey want it to be JC soup because it's MUCH lower in sodium...and as it states broth based soup -- it's nearly all broth. Personally, I like having a low sodium V-8 instead. I think it's much more filling than the Soupitizers... plus they're like $2.50 or $3 each... not worth it IMO.

there is a recipe at my Center I will try to copy down for you next week? it uses a Soupitizer and some Broth plus some chopped Free Veggies + water. you simmer that in a Slow cooker and you can have it for 4 meals I think? not positive on that tho and not sure what it counts as?
I will do that next week.

I'm glad you asked that question; I joined the 27th & got my meals the 30th...will have my 1st phone call w/ my consultant today (I live in a very rural area & no center to be found for miles & miles...)

I just began the JC program on 20 April. I am not a big "soup" person, but I love the thai and veggie minestrone. I only eat them on the days I feel hunger and that really tides me over. They taste great and give me that little extra satisfaction.
I suggest giving each flavor a try and see if it helps when you just need a little something to satisfy your appetite.
Best of luck!

As promised, here is the Recipe posted at my JC Center.
This is for using / volumizing the Soupitizers. This basic recipe uses 1 container of ' Soupitizer', but you can use 2 , more veggies, water etc.... and have this on hand for an entire Week?( 8 servings )
using 1 serving per day? would be 1Limited
Soupitizer Soup
1. Put Soupitizer in Crockpot with 4 - 6 cups of a Mixture of Free Vegetables.
2. Add spices according to your own taste. Can also add a bit of Salsa if desired? Plus 2 cups of Water.
3. Simmer until veggies are 'tender'. and Enjoy
makes 4 servings, but as I say this can be doubled using 2 tins of Soupitizer.
