Full Version: It's April; Let's Support Each Other
Jenny Craig > Support Buddy Groups > Over 60s

Hi Everyone:

I'm back. I took a little break and now I'm back. I've been maintaining on JC for almost 6 months now and doing beautifully. I love Jenny Craig. I've got 10-20 more pounds to lose. I'll know when to stop. The magic number is size medium clothing. I'm almost there right now. I'm pretty sure I will have to lose at least 10 pounds to fit into medium clothing comfortably and maybe more. I will make the decision when I get there.

For those of you who don't know me, I started Jenny in December 2007 and I've lost 75 pounds to date. My goal weight is 165, but I may change that goal weight if I can't get into my size medium clothing.

I would love to talk with others interested in losing weight also. I've found that if you stay true to the JC program, you will lose weight. As my consultant said, it's a matter of calories in and calories out. And what I love about Jenny Craig is they make it so easy for you to do that and the food is so yummy too.

Have a great day.

Hello Betty Jo!
I think Over 60's Support Group has lost a lot of our comrads ... the chatting's been slow.. void. Congrats on maintaining. I've been on the program 13 months now. From my first Jenny WI, I've lost 41 lbs. But, actually, my weight was 245. UGH.... But it sounds better to say that I've loss 49 lbs. to-date. Really does not bother me to take a LONG time to do this... cost can be a factor, but actually, I probably spend less than trying to eat out when every opportunity comes along.

I have been slacking a lot lately. Seemed like it started at Thanksgiving and continues through til now. My weight has decreased a little tho. And that's a good thing. Most of my friends are finally getting in the groove of knowing that we aren't ALWAYS going to eat out. I have not started to do meals on my own yet. Thought about it... Temptation is a BIG factor. I have not conquered having a chocolate bar in the house and NOT touching it. Yet, I do have a meal out (limited to once a week), and I'm just not close enuf to releasing Jenny's food to do MOMO. Got all of the info. Filed under 'Later'.

Funny you should talk about clothes size. That has been the MOST unbelievable thing of my journey!! I have gone from a size 2x (and a small 3x) to a 14W and 18 AND some 16's that must run larger. Oh, well. It is such a great feeling. I feel that the flattery that I get from others is not deserved because it's not so much the weight loss. IT IS THE FOOD CHOICES!

I sincerely think that any single person out there should be on Jenny. Even if they do not need to lose weight, just for the proper nutrition. Single people do not make themselves meals.

Exercise is my dismiss! I have gotten slack on the Wii / Wii Fit program. I was doing it every day. I really love it! I did EVERYTHING rather than choices each day. Betty Jo, are you still walking? I don't and really really should! The golf course is used til dark now... it's golfing weather. And walking on our streets is difficult with the dogs. Not too many cars.. just no shoulder (all weeds) and the dogs get fleas and ticks so bad on the streets. They also love to run on the golf course... So, do you think I could set a deal with the club house to get the golfers to go home before dark? LOL.

Good to start a new string!

Hi Jo:

You are doing so well and you do deserve the praise. Going slow is much better because you change old bad habits. Too many people think a diet is for the short term. That is sooooooo wrong. When you undertake a diet program, you better chose something you can live with for the rest of your life or you will definitely gain all the weight back and then some like Christy Alley did. Did you see her on Oprah? I've done that at least two times in my lifetime too so I know how she feels. So this time, I'm in no hurry either. I'm taking my time. Even some of the JC consultants encourage you to lose quickly. I rejoined again this year, but I had a heart-to-heart with my consultant before signing up again. I told her I was in no hurry because I needed to firm up my body first and foremost. She also said I didn't have to purchase a certain amount of food from JC. So I feel very comfortable with doing the next 5-10 pounds. But if I have to do 15 pounds to get into my size mediums comfortably, I'm ready for that too.

I remember when you first started JC. You were so worried about losing so slow, but look at you. You are doing so well. Exercise is a factor is losing the last pounds. I walked three times a week this winter to keep my weight off. It was so easy and my dogs loved it. What kind of dogs do you have? Do you have any bike trails or parks with side walks where you live. That's what I would do if I didn't live where I had a place to walk. I really don't like walking in the streets with a dog. Too many people let their dogs run loose. I'm afraid of a dog fight. When we move back to Alaska, it will be a challange, but I'll figure it out. I'll have to use my treadmill more often I'm sure.

I've not tried the WII Fit. Sounds interesting. My sister has one and loves it. She says you really move quite a bit with their games. But I understand it's expensive. I thought I'd wait until the price comes down a little more.

There are ways to eat out on JC. I learned that first because my husband and I like to eat out. My favorite place to eat is a cafeteria called the Golden Corral. They have lots of selections, but I always get the same thing when I go in there. I get a piece of chicken and a salad and a dinner roll. I also have a small portion of dessert. Then I eat light at night. It works and I've never felt deprived, but if you can't handle it, it's best not to go to those places. There are restuarants that serve low-fat foods. That's might be a better option for you.

My biggest challange right now is making sure I weigh and journal every morsel of food I put in my mouth. I tend to forget when I get busy and when you are close to goal, you have to be very careful about your portion sizes. I found a site online where I can enter all my food choices and it adds up my calories for me. So that helps a lot. I don't know the exchanges for everything, but I can always find the calorie content.

Have a great week and keep up the good work.

Betty Jo

How Cool!, A support group for over 60.
Like most people who have been overweight since always, it seems like I have been on millions (slightly exaggerated) of diets all my life. Truth be known, only 2 really serious ones and both I had success losing the weight, but not keeping it off. I got to the point, where my bad knees were to painful to walk on, blood pressure was going up and if I didn't do something I would end up with diabetes.

So I decided to begin again!. I liked what Jenny Craig had to offer, the menus, the food plans, the food, the support, the maintenance program and that you could be real with this program. I joined October 2008 and it has been slow and steady progress and weight loss, the first thing that blew me out of the water was, how far off my portion control was. What a surprise, then I got another really pleasant surprise, by using the four week menu plan and following it, I actually have been learning how and what my body burns and what it holds on to, this gives me great hope for the future. When Christmas came I had a stumble, however it was a consious choice I made and I was prepared for the consequence and I did have a gain, the next week I was back on track and have been losing steadily ever since. I call myself Myrtle the turtle, some weeks its as little as a 1/2 pound and some its 2 pounds, doesn't sound like a lot, but when it is all added up it comes to 68 pounds so far. I joined the local health club, just to walk on the treadmill and ride a bike. My knees are terrible and the weight loss has not helped with the pain, because it turns out I will need knee replacement. I have no idea what my true goal weight will be when I get done, so at this time I am thinking more in terms of clothing sizes. I am no longer a 5X, and I think a size 18 or 20 might be just right and I don't know what kind of a weight number that will be, my guess is 200 or less. So as you can see I have a long way to go. At least 100 more pounds. Right now I am in a 1X slacks and 24-26 blouse. I also feel better, blood pressure is in the normal range, no problems with chlorestoral or sugar. I signed up to JC for a year, plus whatever it takes.

I like the fact that I can be normal, whatever that means to each person, I go out to eat, my counselor was great and showed me how to figure out portion control and made several good suggestions. Most of the time I can pre plan, so I am also learning how to exchange. At my age and in a relatively short time, I have learned all kinds of important things about me and my body and to pay attention to the tools that are being given to me on a daily basis. I am really into this for the long term, and I believe that slow and steady is really the way to go. I am a long way from a maintenance program and am going to ask for support from people who are losing over the long term and those who are maintaining. Hope to hear from you.

Alligator (nick name), I have a huge alligator collection

It's May now, but I'm just looking at the forums and so I've just found you. I'm in my 15th week of JC and I love it!! I've lost 25 lbs. I got the flu, spent 3 days in bed an still have a terrible cough. I had to look at the Hall's package to see how many calories I'm getting from them each day - EEK!!!

I seem to feel the need to sabotage myself each time I get to the bottom of another "10" (270, 260 and now 250). I'd love to know how to get around that.

But I'm glad I found this group
Jomamad
Welcome Alligator and NebraskaRhonda.

Alligator collection, huh? That's different. I've never heard of a love of 'gators... except from Florida University. I suppose it is better to live in the (way-up) north to love them. LOL. I'm "from" Austin Texas and we 'love' Longhorns. So, I guess that's about as different. Anyhoo, you are doing great on your Jenny Plan! You have made a tremendoud change in lifestyle. Congrats.

NebraskaRhonda -- I hear ya' about the creeping crud. I had bronchitis / walking pneumonia for the last (almost) 4 weeks. I laughed out loud over you saying that you were reading the cough drop calories. I did that too! How funny. I was eating them like popcorn.. and not knowing if I'd live til tomorrow... so I thought, why count!? Just get over this episode. Hope you are feeling better too.

Most of us have the same issues: bads knees, aching bodies, etc. etc. (My body was rearranged) It seems to come from age... but the weight adds to it. So that's why I'm trying to get rid of one enemy - weight. I too have been struggling. I actually held from T-day til last week. Which is not my plan of attack but Jenny was a crutch - not my main focus. So, I made a conscientious decision to get with the plan -- and have gained weight! It's like I am shooting myself in the foot. Why?!! Well, I got a new consultant. She's so good! My other one got promoted. She had been trying to call me during her busy schedule but it was hard. So, we had to break the ties and she found a counselor that she thought I'd like. And I do! She said some key things to me today that I had to write down. Never done that before! I'm hoping this is a better week. It was one year April 1st for me and Jenny. I only lost 45 lbs. But I think they are permanent pounds. Yea! Except this last week. When I crave things, I crave salt. Salted nuts. Salted pretzels filled with peanut butter.

I have got to get a new mindset.... Funny: wanna know how I did that when I was younger? I would cut out pictures of beautiful swimsuit models and hang them on the refrigerator, the bathroom mirror, everywhere! We had 3 sons, people thought the pics were theirs. Then I'd say they were my incentive and they thought I lost it. But it was a great inspiration!!! OK, so, when we are in our 60's, who do we post up there? I ain't never going to get in a bikini no more - I've had over 400 stitches in my body and scars galore! And the pretty older ladies, you only see their plastic surgery faces. Their bodies might have fake boobs (I don't) but I'll bet they have a body to hide! You think? We have no more models to look up to! Ye gads. I want to be a Katherine Hepburn. Poised. Secure. Naturally beautiful. And I just want to look good in clothes. The younger crowd won't cut it. Jenny tells you to take your measurements.... why? I'm not inspired to think I'm closer to wearing a bikini. But, I do love (spelled: L-O-V-E) going to the store and trying on clothes that get smaller and SMALLER.

Well, the chatter around here has been slow..... (like us).... so, don't get discouraged if you don't hear from each other real quick! Let's just keep each other updated of our progress! Good luck. Bon Jenny Appetite. rolleyes.gif

Betty Jo -- I'm so glad that you are here. It's good posting to somebody that has been riding along through this. WHERE is Kathy???!!! I hope she has not fallen off the wagon. Do you email her? Waz' up?

Yes, I saw a small clip of Oprah with Kristy Alley. Grief. NOT a good rep for Jenny. Yet, that does not surprise me! She is a compulsive person - you can tell. I'm sure she got panpered and did not learn on her own WHAT she was doing. Then, didn't she try to start her own weightloss program / food ? So, how much was she really into Jenny? I'm not even disappointed for her. But, I do like Valerie's info. Now, she's serious. I always thought she had her head together. Too bad she went through some bad years. And I was surprised that she was so timid about her body. Something about her tone of words, I believe her. Then there's Phyilicia Rashad. She may be our age.... But somehow, I'm not into her. I noticed they put her in 'BIG' clothes for her before photos... and then Real Quick, she was thin. I've always liked her lifestyle. She's eccentric and new-age (always).

I rejoined the Rewards Program too. Did you? A size MEDIUM? Wowee. I can only imagine. Altho, I am buying size larges -- after a 2x.

I have 2 cockapoos. Cuddles (she is 17lbs. white/tri color, 9 years old and spoiled!!) and Murphy ( he is 32 lbs, black, 8 1/2 years with hip dyspexia). I could never live without a dog but became a cockapoo lover from Buffy. She is gone now. I always rescued my dogs. She was absolutely a delight. No shedding. SMART too!! There is a trail that I can drive to and walk. It is about 1 1/2 miles (I think). And I need to do that!! Because the hills here in Tennessee are a killer to go up and down. The golf course is used too much - can't get out there except 6am. In Texas, our town had 10 miles of walkways. It was so good!!! I miss that terribly. Not the Texas heat tho.

I'm starting to log my food, my every move. Then I don't know what to do with it. You'd think you could analyze it and come to some kind of conclusion.... you'd think?! Like, on Fridays, I eat too much... so eliminate Friday's? Actually, I think my portions are too big on the fruits and veggies. I think I'd save money if I ate less.

Oh, the Wii. I still love love love it. But have not given it much attention lately. It gives me rude remarks... like "where have you been!?" seriously -- it is so funny. I did get 2 more active games for it. "Rayman Raving Rabids" and "Outdoor Challenge" In fact, I play the Wii / Wii Fit more than I do yoga. I should combine them. But, spending that much time on just me everyday is not going to happen. I have a time management problem!!! BIG TIME!~!

Ok -- I got to spend time on me now. haha!! laugh.gif

Good morning. This is my first week doing JC! I smiled through reading your blogs. Your words only mirror my thoughts, fears, weaknesses and setbacks. I want, so badly, to be in control and to have this plan, this time work for me. Three days into the program I am loving the idea of not having to think ~ not counting calories, carbs, etc. Just eating what is on my list and that's all. Will this get boring? (one of my biggest problems!)
I cringed when you talked about aching joints and bad knees! I KNOW about those! Hoping taking off about 50 pounds will help that problem but age is kinda against me.
Hope to have support in this new journey. Thanks. rolleyes.gif

Good morning,

I'm glad to see this forum for us over 60's. I just started Jenny yesterday and am feeling very optimistic about this program. I have a lot of weight to lose, but I am mostly doing this program to get more energy.

Went on a cruise with my 20 year old son last year and was so disappointed that I couldn't do some of the tours with him. I'm hoping that within a year I can meet my goal of losing 50 lbs, and we can do another trip where we can spend more time together.

I live in the south suburbs of Chicago, but also spend the winter in Titusville, FL, and want to be more active in both of my homes.

I'd be glad to accept and give any support, so that we can all reach our goals.

Hello Everyone!

This is my first week of JC and I am really enjoying the meals and the ease of fixing meals. I am a widow and found I was just eating whatever was handy, not cooking any meals. It is so nice to see the over 60 blog. I have gained so much weight my knees hurt and I find I have no energy.

I live in a rural community in the mountains of Colorado and so far have not found anyone in this area using JC. I'm hoping to find a walking partner so I can get into the exercise part of the program. It would be so nice to have others to talk with when I have trouble sticking to the menu. My main problem seems to be at night when I would love to snack.

Enjoyed reading all your comments!

Welcome Marilyn !
You really live far out there -- but there are a few others who hang out here that aren't living in the big cities. I live in a rural county of TENN that has a total population of 50,000. That's not too bad. But not a lot of amenities. Walmart and Kmart are it.

You are the exact example that I get on a soapbox about: Those that live alone really are winners on the Jenny PLan. Most can find a few pounds to lose but the proper dietary plan is something that you don't supply on your own. So, congratulations to you and I hope you not only find that it helps your weight, but your life style! It's hard when one family member is on Jenny and you have others living in the house, it is a challenge to cook for them and yourself while you're dieting. I think you are on the winning side. You will get all of the benefits and not fret to cover everybody elses meals. It's all about you and you get the proper food line.

Eating at night seems to be a problem with most people. Jenny doesn't care if you eat your food after 8pm. Just ONLY eat what's on the Plan. Don't snack on your own food. And actually, it gets easier the longer you're eating Jenny. I think it's because your vitamins and minerals are more balanced. I'm a total choca-holic. Like others on here who love chocolate, you just order ALL of your desserts as Jenny chocolate. To change any pattern (smoking, eating, etc), you got to get out of the old pattern. So, I added a cup of decaf coffee with my 'evening chocolate Jenny dessert'. That broke my "just stuff chocolate in my mouth" routine.

Good luck!

Hi Betty Jo, I'm new. 5 weeks now and I love this program. Unfortunately, I went on vacation right after I joined. I lost 3lbs the first week and then regained 2, but i'm back and doing fine. I'm happy with this program and I love the food. I also love to cook and have tried two of Jenny's recipes that turned out to be great.

It's great that there is support on this thread. I hope to get to know all of you. - Jeri

Hello 60+s. I am so glad to see I am in good company. I want so much to be apart of your community. I hope I can post this. I live out in to boonies of Washington state, by Mt. St. Helens. My JC center is 80 miles away from me so I will be seeing them only once a month. I am on my 2nd week as of today. The first week I lost 3.8 pounds. I find it is easy to get negative that I didn't loose more....... this week will be better. I stayed on program 100%. Do you drink water too? How much? Does it make a difference?

Good luck to all of you, keep up the good work!

Hello my fellow 60+ group-

I am in my third week and just now realized that there was a special group for over 60. I guess I didn't scroll down far enough to see this group. I have been on JC when they first came out with the program, many, many years ago. Lost about 35 lbs. and then figured it was too expensive and that I could do it myself. Well, being back to the program speaks volumes. My hair was brown back in those days...and I didn't need to loose that much. I am now pretty much white and way overweight...so the journey begins...again!! I love this website...I told my JCC they need to talk it up. I can't wait to get home after babysitting and see what is happening in the Jenny world. I have just started replying to some of the entries...and I am truly loving it. It is soooo much better than sitting around thinking about food and looking at boring reruns. Wishing all of us the very best in our next WI. Hoping to hear some great numbers lost and never to be found again.

Til we meet again cool.gif

Well hello gang - looks like this is the right place for me too! I am also in Kansas and 61 years old so sounds like the crowd I would love to join! I do have much more weight to lose then any of you but I am here to follow the program to the letter as I have serious health issues that are nearly all weight related so I have reached that point where I simply cannot afford to eat a single bite over 1,200 calories per day.

Today is day 10 for me and I honestly don't feel hungry - fear can do that to you. I was in the hospital earlier this month and lost 28 lbs during the week in just fluid - one day I lost a GALLON of fluid. That's 8.25 lbs! This Sunday I will go back to the hospital to weigh, not because the scale won't go high enough to weigh me but I am unable to step up those 4-5" on the balance beam type scale we have at home ... knees too painful and weak, like many of you mentioned your knee problems you understand.

I love dogs and have always had Standard Poodles - right now we have a female my husband rescued from a Kansas puppy mill. She was raised entirely outdoors, had nearly no human contact. She is white but looked like a dirty, old gray mop who had never been groomed and never loved. Well, she had never gone into heat so the "breeder" decided to dump her and DH drove 200 miles one way to go pick her up. It was love at first sight for me! She had trouble learning to trusting us and she had no idea of what we were doing when we invited her to sleep in bed with us! One week after we bought her she went into heat. We felt that we had saved her from a life of misery being kept producing puppies until she died. She is our first lady sog and we had her groomed and bought her a pretty new collar and she is finally comfortable and oh, we adore her.

Hi!

Thanks for the encouragement. I am beginning my 4th week and so far have lost 12.5 lbs. I love not having to to make myself cook. I can just get dinner out of the freezer, fix a salad or vegetables and be done. Very easy clean up too. I find I am not nearly as hungry eating the proper foods and Ben and Jerry are no longer my best friends!! Still haven't found a walking partner but have been walking my son's dog three times a day and we have become great buddies. My real test will be this coming weekend when we all attend my mother's 90th Birthday in Albuquerque, NM. I plan to take all my meals and avoid the desserts.

Have a great week!

Hello Everyone - yes, isn't the food easy to prepare and honestly very tasty. I also feel a kinship to those here that are in the same neighborhood of age as I am. I am not very computer literate so I ask you to please excuse my ineptness of posting properly: )

Have a great day and hope to read some of your posts soon.

Hi Suzanne,

Looks like you did just fine on the computer. I would love to know how they get the ticker on the bottom. I haven't gotten that one figured out yet. I love Jo's little Motorcycle. It's great to have others in our age group to talk with. Seems to get a bit harder the older you get to lose those extra pounds but it is so much easier to do it when you have everything already prepared for you. Just pop them into the microwave. They seem to be very balanced meals and I have a lot more energy and neverfeel hungry. Easy to take to work also. I'm new to this and look forward to achieving each goal.

Have a good week.

Hi everyone,
I'm from PA and also just found this "Over 60's" group! How encouraging all of you sound and we need that.
I also need to learn how to add that little ticker at the bottom of my posts. My daughter is actually one of those "techy" folks and I should have her show me.
How about a small challenge. After a big picnic at my house yesterday I am actually so GLAD to get back on program today. I just feel sluggish. Didn't drink my water, didn't get my walk in and certainly didn't follow program! My challenge is to stay on program TOTALLY for the next 7 days. Anyone care to join me?
Also does anyone care to share any tips you have found that help you? I do have one I would like to share for those of you that want to nibble at night. I make what I call "veggie" popcorn. I chop up the veggies that I like (carrots, radishes, celery, caulifower, broccoli) into popcorn size pieces and keep them in a container in the fridge. Then if while watching TV in the evening I want to munch - I get a bowl of veggie popcorn! I know it sounds dumb, but it works for me!
Have a great week!
Joanne
Babybing2002

Welcome Joanne and I will be happy to join you in following JC TOTALLY for the next week! Shallw e weigh on Sunday to see how we have done or how would you like to work this? I have lots more to lose than you but I am feeling good about the possibility of having this program, community and myself be successful and accountable. I like the food - alot some it.

Alligator, you are so right, the small losses do add up to a pretty big number as the weeks roll by. You are doing terrific, I should do half as well as you have doen and would be pleased with myself: )

I have a Standard Poodle named "May'B" ... had 2 brothers from different litters a year apart. Those boys were my best friends and constant companions. After 15 years we lost the older of the 2 - "Brick Honey" and the following year "Drum" or Drummer Boy, like to kill me.

As time passed we began to say "well maybe we could start to look ... " or "maybe if we ..." always "maybe" which was what we then named our first lay poodle and we adore her!

Hi Suzanne glad to have to do this with me. I started my seven days Totally on program yesterday (Monday).
So far so good. One day in and 6 to go. I have to be honest and say that it's been some time since I followed program TOTALLY for an entire week. It will be interesting to see how much a difference it will make at WI!!

Hi Suzanne,
You still with me? How are you doing? I made it through the second day (yesterday) and so far so good today as well!
I really do want to see what a difference not "cheating a little bit" will make!

I am just posting. This is my second week totally on JC program after listening to Martha Beck. I can do this. I was staying about the same or within 5 lbs for the last seven months. That has changed. I broke one habit and thought lets try another one and not weigh in at home. After all, I am totally doing the JC program so weight will come off weekly for now on. Goal is to go for 150 (short term goal) I am according to last weigh in 169.4 lbs. Next Monday goal is to lose 2 to 3 lbs. I am excited to break two habits. I will continue to listen to DVD/CD's and self help books too!!!! So I will be checking in daily. I am also only 59 1/2 but thought better to post here since so close to good young 60!!!!!!!!!!! Goal also to get off blood pressure medicine!!!

She is our first lady sog and we had her groomed and bought her a pretty new collar and she is finally comfortable and oh, we adore her.

wow! great story about your poodle rescue. I'm such a dog lover. that just warmed my heart. I have 2 cockapoos. Cuddles took after the poodle side of her family with that kinky curly fur. Murphy took after the cocker side of his family. We just got back from a week of vacation. They go everywhere with us!

sorry to hear that you have such a rough time with your knees (which includes weight) - but you are at the RIGHT spot now. Jenny food plan is so adaptable. I've been hanging with Jenny for over a year now. In it for the long haul. Who woulda' thunk that I'd stick to it this long. But I am! And that's my proud moment. So you can too. It's not a 3 month deal. It;s a lifer. That 4-5" step will be nuthin' by this time next year.

Hi, All! Glad to see a group of "oldies and goodies"! In my seventh week. Challenges ~ a wedding, a wedding shower, two birthday parties, fathers day cookout! Yikes! I just keep picking myself up and starting over. I love to snack in the evening while watching t.v. so I save snacks for then ~ yogurt, fruit, and snack bars. It's working. Thanks for all of the good tips you write.

Hi everyone,

Today is my second day on Jenny...and the first time using this weight loss program, or should I say lifestyle change. It really gets harder as we get older (63 yrs young ,yikes) and I don't want to be 80 yrs and wheelchair bound , so here I am. I am glad I found this forum for 60 yrs plus. It makes it easier to relate to people in the same age bracket. I can use as much support as I can get, been on evry diet known to mankind, and popped all kinds of pills and miracle cures (there ain't any) So hoping this is the answer. It gets so tiring carrying around another person on your back...so I am looking forward to be able to walk without hurting and slowwly getting up while holding on from a seated position, My mind tells me I'm too young for this...but my body says " **** No!I don't think so!" So glad to meet all you wonderful people, and good luck.
Talk to you all soon

Have not been on here for a while... but see the posting is slow. thank goodness!

I dunno if this will encourage anybody out there.... BUT STICK TO IT!!!!! --

Sometimes I get discouraged.. I thought that NOBODY has done this for over a year... 'cept me. WRONG!
I started seeing and hearing of 3 and 4 year Jenny Craig Lifers. Those are my mentors.
I have been tinkering with Jenny Craig Plan for a total of ONE YEAR AND 3 1/2 MONTHS.
A good 50 pounds lighter.

But, Why is My Plan so slow?? ( I ask myself).... well, I just looked back at my weight since last year birthday (August)... IF I can round this out for this year's birthday, I will have gotten rid of 30 lbs since then. That makes me feel better. My doctor thinks the S-L-O-W method is much better than turning into a Kristy Alley (take it off fast-plan and put it back on fast-plan).

Then, I hit the summer of 2009. Memorial Day was a BIG blast party in our back yard. Anxiety eating struck me. Then, we had to go to Jersey to see dad in nursing home. Ate Jersey food: Subs, pizza, sister-in-laws cooking..... came home fatter. Spent a week moaning and had son #1 and his family here for a week. Oh, yea -- COOKING FOR THE CLAN!!! Friends are due here for a long weekend (end of July), so I am trying to honker down and follow Jenny Plan for one week at a time!~ very few times have I been able to do that.

Ok -- I feel better... I have expressed my UP's and DOWN's. Looking forward to bragging instead of complaining.

HOW MANY OF YOU FOLLOW THE JENNY PLAN 7 DAYS IN A ROW? biggrin.gif
AND THEN - HOW MANY WEEKS CAN YOU DO THAT WITHOUT EATING ON YOUR OWN??? ohmy.gif
