Hey all
I'm on the 1700 calorie menu and have been doing 30 min work outs 5 times a week. This past week I had done 1 hour 6 times a week, which resulted in a gain. I only gained .5 but, I'm very upset about this, as I worked so hard this week, and was looking forward to an awesome lose. My consultant put the information in the computer today, and with the amount of exercise I have been doing, and now I have been put on 2000 calories, as long as I keep up the same amount of workout. My question is, wont I gain more weight by my calories been increased??? Even before my gain I'm only losing about 1 pound a week, I know that's great, but I know I can lose more as I have in previous years being on Jenny, but I don't seem to be able to this time
I have no idea what your start weight was, how much you've lost, how far you are from goal. I'm assuming, that since you started at 1700, you have a significant amount of weight to lose?
It might take a few weeks to find what calorie level works - where the balance is between calorie intake, calorie burning and "starvation mode".
Not sure what kind of workouts you're doing, but if you've started to do weight training, your muscles will retain water, which may account for a gain. Rest assured, once you build muscle mass, your resting metabolism will increase, and your weight loss will become more evident. In the meantime, until you start seeing more losses on the scale, concentrate on your inches, instead. One thing that I've never liked about JC is that it's all about weight and BMI, and never about body fat percentage..... which, to me, is a much more valuable measurement of good health. Someone can have an acceptable BMI but a too high BFP... just because you don't weigh too much doesn't mean your body composition is healthy.
