Full Version: I don't get it !

I just started with JC on March 30, 2009 .. I have Ulcerative Colitis which is in remission and has been for 2 years now. I don't have any food allergies or any food restrictions. I understand that a medical form has to be signed off by my doctor which is fine. The same evening they set me up with my membership sent me home with a "week worth of food" and said they would fax the request to doctor. And they would see me next week!

Since I never heard back from the centre I assumed everything was okay only to my surprise I was told when I went in the following week for my consult and weigh my in that they never received the signed form back from the doctor and they could not supply me with the following week of food???

I asked why no one called me the week prior to see if I could contact my doctor and follow up with regards to the form, they never bothered to follow up either all she could do was apologise. It seemed to have slipped through the crack but when my councellor finally found my file it was burried under a bunch of file in the managers office. She apologised for the oversight... but I was still out the week of food. So now all she could do was help my plan my own menu. So now I am going on the 2nd day with planning my own food.

So my very first experience with JC is not a very good one ! I am still trying to figure out why the week prior I was okay to purchase the week of food but now I am not.. Maybe before they took my credit card, they should have requested the signed form first !!!

Hopefully tomorrow will be much better and they will have received the signed form so that I can get back on track!!!!!

That is odd. I could not buy anything until I had the doctors note, because of my blood pressure meds. I actually called the doctor and then went and picked up the note myself since I had some other stuff I needed to do there anyway.

Didn't anyone at least give you a "care call" mid week to see how you were doing and ask if you have questions? That would have been a good time to verify if they had followed thru with the doctor's note.

Well, I hope this gets resolved soon and that it doesn't impact your weight loss too terribly. People are human afterall, and prone to errors.

You did have a bad experience. I live in Ca and joined yesterday at our Anaheim Center. They would not let me join, pay, or get food UNTILL my doctor sent them a fax approving the JC program. I went in on Friday and got my food Yesterday. The ladies at my center are top notch. If I were you I would call and complain about the help in your center! Talk about dropping the ball big time! Call corporate and explain what happened to you and you should be compensated! Good Luck and Sorry you had a bad experience, Jo Ann

Everything should work out okay with the doctors note and all, there shouldn't be a problem. To answer

I asked why they didn't call and they just said sorry their mistake.. it was very depressing because I was really happy doing this and then they popped my balloon!

But, hopefully today they should have my signed form and I can go in tonight and start fresh!
If not, I make the call and complain, the program isn't cheap, it's not about the money - it's the principle.
If they have to follow the rules about not providing food, they should not have started me until they received the form and the centre needs to "practice what they preach".

certain conditions require a doctor approval before you can start and others require only that by the second visit that there be comunication with your doctor and any specific thing he may want your center to comply with(your situation). This does not excuse the lack of attentention paid to your doctor approval
