Folks,

Just to make it official. After tasting EVERYTHING, there is nothing more disgusting than the peanut butter anytime bars!!!

2nd place goes to the slimy chicken noodle thing. (Sorry wherever America, this is gross!)

I can't totally complain though. I have lost 80+ pounds on the program in 8 months.

Just goes to show... I actually still chose to buy the peanut butter Anytime Bars somewhat regularly even after 5 years on maintenance! And the homestyle chicken with noodles is one of our shelf staples.

Viva variety!
emerald_green
I would probably agree with you on the chicken noodle thing IF I had ever gotten the courage to try it. I think it is the ONLY thing I've never eaten! I had one sitting in my cupboard for at least 4 years until I finally threw it out.

I like the peanut butter anytime bars, and so does my toddler (I have to actually HIDE when I eat them or I have to share).

Other than the chicken noodle, the only thing that I wont eat is the lasanga... but I have not tried it in many years so perhaps I should try again and see if my taste buds have changed. I dont care for the chocolate graham twists, but they are somewhat edible. I'm slowly starting to kinda like the maple nut cereal. I used to like the tuna kit, but I had one the other day and didn't enjoy it as much as I used to. Taste buds can really change after a while!

Take care,
Angela

I hate all the anytime bars but I actually like the homestyle chicken and noodles, it is one of the only shelf stable meals I like. I also love the chocolate grahm twists

I have not found a soup I like just the smell from opening the can will make me nausicious

It is funny how everyone has different tastes. I buy the homestyle chicken and noodle and add chicken broth to make more of it and have it with a package of everything crackers. It tastes fine to me. The graham crackers smell rancid to me so I dont buy them anymore. I dont like the peanut butter anytime bars because of the gritty feeling in my mouth. It is fun to see what people like and dislike. I loved the cherry chocolate cheesecake and I am so bummed that they no longer have it.
kalico812
i have tried just about everything and love it all
and i was told this week spaghetti with meatballs
and the turkey panini will be back in April biggrin.gif Woot!
Moxie4Life
Beef and mashed potatoes are the worst to me.
dreamcreatingangel
The worst so far for me was the potstickers. It was so bad I couldn't even finish it and I actually wanted to cry. LOL

PB anytime bars are ok, I can handle them.
DivineMissM
I had the Rising Crust Pizza last night and The H had the Spaghetti and meatballs. He asked if I had more tonight. I usually let him have a meal when I don't want to cook anything extra. H likes the oatmeal and the Breakfast Scramble.

The worst one for me is the Potstickers. Maybe it is the soy/tofu or the sesame oil. I don't know. I have one meal that is ready to expire so I will definitely have to volumize that one just to give it a second chance.
DivineMissM
PS I don't like the Anytime Peanut Butter bars either. I have one pack left (I subbed from the recall) and then I will be taking the JC multivitamins.

I'd appreciate some suggestions on how to make the potato garlic soup better.

Thanks.
BeccaBecca
I ate a PB anytime bar the first day and never touched'em again. It turned to spackle (sp?) in my mouth and got stuck in my teeth. Taste wasn't so great either.

Beef and Mashed Potatoes tasted like barf (kinda looked that way too)... blink.gif
Chicken Salad has a sour tart taste to me. A poster on another topic referred to it as cat food... laugh.gif

As for the Potato soup, I like to add some FF shredded cheese and chives after heating it up. But it's still not very good. Has a burnt garlic taste.

My absolute favorite is Fish and Chips!!!! I eat this 2-3 times a week! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!!!! If JC every got rid of this I think I would go into a depression!

Fish and chips is what I'm eating today! Yeah! I hate the sauce though, tastes gross.

Oh yeah the nastiest dressing is the sesame one. Ugh...nasty.

The potstickers is the worst I've tried so far oh and I do not like the cashew chicken.

I guess everyone has different tastes. I absolutely love the PB Anytie Bars. I get them every week. I take small bites, let all the choc. melt and then savor the chewy part. Granted it is not a Reese's PB Cup but i still love it!

LOL...Okay, I thought it was just me. The potstickers almost brought me to tears as well. I don't know if my hopes were dashed (because I actually like potstickers in the non-Jenny world) or if they were so terrible that I could not stand it, but I really was on the verge of tears.
LesterLou
I love love love LOVE the potstickers!
WorknIt
The Official WORST is the JC Tuna Salad Kit.
Our cat turned her nose up at it- how's that?!

And I like tuna- even in a can (white albacore). I DID try JC's about 3x- no more.
Ever. Never. Ever.

Did I mention never ever again?!

I'm sorry, but why would not liking a food bring you to tears??? That's a really odd (to me) reaction. Other issues in play here?

OK, you have convinced me to try these!

I did not like the Penne Pasta, the chicken in the mesquite chicken was too nervy for me and the beef and mashed potatoes was yuck. I love the Cashew chicken, this is my favorite so far!
BeccaBecca
Cltmommy: To make the Fish and Chips taste best, I microwave them but then put the Fish under the broiler for a few minutes on each side to give them some crunch! Enjoy!
Murlin
I second (or third) the potstickers - they are horrible. Also, I may be alone here, but I did not like the Pesto Pizza... YUCK!! (Do they still have it?!?!)
angmoonlight
I agree that the peanut butter anytime bars are disgusting. The taste is bland like they're stale but the texture is what really makes them bad. Ditto for whoever said they were like spackle. No resemblance of actual peanut butter.
I would say the psstickers were the second worst I had too.
I love the fish and chips but almost feel like I'm cheating when I eat them.
micksgirl
I know everyone has their own likes and dislikes. I have to agree with the potsticker thing though. YUCK! Couldn't even eat them.
I like the southwestern burrito, chicken carbonara, and the classico chicken parmesan is pretty good too.
DonnaMc
Wow, different tastes around, thanks for sharing folks!

The Schezwan Pork. Icky. I hated it, Mom hated it and my brother who usually eats anything said the meat was "gamey."

Have to second the potstickers, did not like them either.

And I learned to tolerate the PB anytime bars, the grit is from the calcium, so I choke it down and remind myself it's better than drinking milk (which I hate.)

I haven't tried everything yet as I only started this past Friday, but I have a few things I cannot take and it's the 2 dressings...Asian and Basalmic, the Ranch is fine. I didn't care for the Macaroni and Cheese and I wasn't too crazy about the Italian Wedding Soup either. I finally got an answer from one of the dietician's, but these consultants give you conflicting advice. I'm doing the home version and when I call, they keep telling me different things! I was told NOT to buy dressings w/more than 20 calories...that's almost impossible, the dietician told me 45 which makes MUCH more sense. Is anyone who is doing this at home finding conflicting information?

Considering that the JC dressing contains 50 calories with approx 4.5g of fat, I would use that as an example. Serving size 28g
tats802
Yes, I'm glad she clarified it for me too now. Thanks!

Honestly, i have not tried a lot of items because I am not a fan of shelf stable foods... I tried a few, and the only one I have liked (other than snacks and a the breakfast cereals) is the rotini and meatballs. I actually like the potstickers (don't get it all the time, though). I did like the penne pasta for a while, but the last 2 times I got it, it had a funky sour-like taste.

The salad kits are the worst to me.. i agree, my cats would not even eat it. yuck..

LOVE THE LEMON CAKE AND SMORES BARS AND THE MEATBALL SANDWICH IS MY FAVORITE

Wow...I LOVE blue cheese dressing too! I am going to try FF Thousand Island Today, 45 cals. for 2 TBLS., it has got to be better than the Asian and Basalmic!!!
oggie411
I just returned to Jenny Craig. I am not a fan of any of the dressings. I tried the 2 chicken soupitizers and thought they were horrible. I bought the potstickers today--yikes!! I do enjoy the pizzas. I pile extra veggies on them and I feel like I'm having a treat. Thanks for the comments on the fish and chips. I wasn't going to try those but now I think I will!
LisaGaz
This is too funny...I LOVE LOVE the potstickers. The one thing I really didn't enjoy was the swedish meatball...gross!! I did a 10 week trial last year and pretty much loved most everything...except the bars.
I just finished week one!!

It's hard to believe that some of the products I can't stomache others love.

Oh my! I too love the potstickers, but the swedish meatballs gave me a tummy ache for 5 hours! Not eating those things again...evah!

I love the swedish meatballs and the chicken/brocolli stuffed sandwich. I hated the potstickers and the meatloaf. Oh also didn't like the chicken salad.

I have to agree with You variety is good.. I like the pbutter bar.. I eat it every day around 10 am..its like a little treat before my lunch.. I really dont like taking vitamins so this helps..

I guess that's why they have such a large selection of items...and hopefully everyone will be pleased! I am starting my 3rd week on the program so far and I am really loving the food! The only ones so far that I would probably not buy again are the Chicken Salad and the Cookout Chicken with Beans. I do not eat red meat, so I have not tried any of the beef or pork dishes.

Now for my favorites:

I LOVE the potstickers - I use some Canola spray and saute some fresh chopped garlic with some water chestnuts (canned), bamboo shoots (canned), and ginger (fresh). While these are cooking, I microwave the potstickers for about 1/2 the time required in order to unfreeze them but not necessarily heat them through. I then add the potstickers, cook a bit and then add a little bit of lite soy sauce right at the end. It make a lot of food and satisfies me every time. I make it my Saturday dinner because weekends are so hard for me and I need to feel satisfied.

I also really like the Homestyle Chicken with Noodles - but I understand that I am clearly in the minority because they just discontinued it. The menu planner calls to add 1/2 a starch to it, so I add 1/4 cup of corn to it while cooking. It makes a nice lunch at work.

I also really like the Breakfast Scramble (only once per week - on a weekend day), Chicken Fajitas and Chicken Fettucini. I add A LOT of veggies to these and they become VERY filling.

I still have some items left to try - but there are probably some that I won't get to. I know I won't try the Anytime bars. My consultant admitted that they are kind of grainy. I didn't want to buy a whole box of them and hate them, so I just have a yogurt instead. I also take my own vitamins.

It's been fun reading all of the comments! On the whole, I am extremely pleased with the food quality and taste! This is definitely something that I can stick with for the long haul - because it's going to take a while to get where I need to be!

All the best to everyone!

Meia
I finally was brave enough to microwave the shelf stable Southwestern Chicken with Rice. When it was done cooking it looked like a jelled ball of food and was darker than normal chicken and rice. Yuck!! It looked so insulting I had to throw it away.

Also, I guess the shelf stable foods get pretty hot pretty fast and I burned a finger sad.gif

no more shelf stable for me!!
chasmag
I like and dislike the potstickers. I love love love the potsticker part, but dislike the soy bean thing, chicken/tofu, and rice stuff. If JC would give 4 potsticker and leave out the other, I would be a happy camper.

Not a fan of the new chicken perm stuff, Love the fried chicken but everythime my noodles our yake!!!

We need some good old county fried chicken with white gravy. Yummmmm!!!!
and chips to eat our free salad with.

Okay the Italian Wedding soup just made my ewww list. Anyone like this? The bowl I had the pasta was slimy tasting and the little meatballs tasted like a can.

It wasn't my favorite but I didn't dislike that as much as I disliked the Spinach and Tortellini can....ewwwww....that was disgusting....guess b/c I'm Italian and that tasted like the can, it was gross! I will NOT order that or the Italian Wedding Soup again either. That new Chicken Corn Chowder soup looks good, wonder how it tastes! Good Luck!

So far all the breakfast items I enjoyed. I also love the Anytime Peanut Butter bars - but the Cookies and Cream I dont care for . For lunch items, I dont like the Tuna Salad kit and the Southwestern Chicken and Rice. Dinners: Cookout Chicken, Mesquite Chicken and Teriyaki Salmon I will never order again.
I tried the Thai Chicken Soupitizer and threw it out. I havent tried any of the other soups yet.
As far as desserts, I do not like any of the cheesecakes. I know most people love them but to me they just taste sour.

EWWW!!! The Thai chicken soupitizer tasted like kerosene! blink.gif I do love the potstickers, but I drizzle a little hoisin sauce and some chinese chili sauce on it for flavor. I think the shelf stable items taste over processed and the soups are a waste of money to me. A little chicken stock, some veggies and some spices and you can have a great veggie soup for the week! Costs less than $3 for the week.

I eat yogurt instead of the anytime bars. Light and Lively makes some great new flavors. Pineapple upside down cake, apple turnover and cinnabon.....YUMMMY!

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Kathleen,

They are definitely fat free. They may be flavored with splenda, but at any rate they are 100 calories, so are under the 110 allowed for a substitute for the anytime bars. To me these are like desserts, so if I have a savory or salty snack on the plan, I save my mid-morning yogurt for after dinner. Always nice to end the day on a sweet note! wink.gif
Moxie4Life
It's still the mashed potatoes & beef for me. mellow.gif
Miche
Don't like pot stickers or the salmon, and fish and chips is not my fave, but I'll eat that.

Didn't care for the PB anytime bar, but I get the cookies and cream. I'm used to the grit and actually don't mind my teeth being gummed up. I eat it as I'm working at my desk, so takes my mind off work as I concentrate on ungluing my teeth.

Love the beef chow mein. The enchiladas and burritos always burst in the microwave and seem soupy. But it's edible.

I opened the chicken salad kit on the plane and the people next to me held their noses.

The graham twists have a strange taste/texture (the chocolate), but again, I can eat it.

Now as far as cereals, I don't do any with the raisins or cranberries. Those dried fruits are rock hard. I end up having to toss those pieces in the trash. I'd rather put my own fresh Sun Maid or Dole raisins in there. I think if I flicked the fruit across a room, I could actually do bodily harm to someone.

Love the beef barley stew. Gumbo not so much. Italian wedding..so so.
micksgirl
The spaghetti w/meatballs is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!
